Before I get started...... anyone else can get this thread going each week. Maybe I'm just the first one here on Mondays.

The scale told me this morning that I won the battle of fighting off those nasty office goodies. I'm down 3.2 from last weeks upward fluxuation. I think I did a better job drinking the water, even at home. Perhaps that helped a bit.

I have 1 week to lose 1.2 pounds to be at my goal of 205 at new years. Then the next big victory for me will be to get under 200. That will really make me feel good about my weight. That's another psychological milestone for me on my way to the 180s.

Have a very Merry Christmas all! And I don't think it will hurt to have a nice meal with friends or family this week

My weight is holding steady which is a victory at this time of year. I have been trying to drink more water while I am home. Last night I was crocheting and drinking water, and then a vodka/cranberry drink appeared before me. It's a Christmas miracle, I didn't have to make it. Of course, water was forgotten and the vodka/cranberry was drunk.

I just forgot that a new week started today, so I'll C&P my post that I put in last week's thread:

Those of you who have lost weight more rapidly are starting to piss me off. I have been doing Weight Watchers for 2 months now and just hit the 5+ loss mark...even when I was unable to eat because of surgery. I honestly think a large part of it is that I haven't been able to exercise much, what with all the illnesses and injuries.

I did really well last night, though. My in-laws had their Christmas party and I didn't overeat or overdrink. I had one glass of champagne and, while the food looked quite yummy, the only thing that was a "Ooooh, this is a once-a-year treat" was the Buche Noel---but I was already too full from filling up on salad and shrimp to eat it.

Not drinking is a big key to not gaining for me. A few drinks gives me the munchies, for one, but I always find that I bloat up and gain more than the calories in the booze would explain. I'm just being really vigilant about reminding myself that this isn't my last chance to ever eat <whatever> or have champagne, and therefore I don't have to approach it like I'll never see that food again.

Anyhow, I'm babbling.

Congrats, Maples. Losing belly fat is a huge deal with regard to lessening your risk of heart disease.

Congrats, Maples...that's great being so close to your January goal!! And I agree with you, one meal won't hurt...it's the multiple meals each day for multiple days...

Colleen, great job holding steady! I like your Christmas miracle WAY better than mine (uninvited relatives). Maybe you could send your Santa to my house....

Dianosaur, I'm impressed with your showing at the party - I'm going to try the water-and-veggies-first plan too and see how it goes. I've also decided to dilute my drinks 1:1 with seltzer water...save on some calories and I tend to drink slower when the drink isn't as sweet.

My weight hasn't changed this week but I'm not beating myself up about it. I'm not going to make my next goal, so I need to modify the plan a bit.

Happy Holidays to those who observe them this week

You guys/gals are just too good! I won't even tell you what I did last night. 'Twas not good. I look forward to getting back on the wagon after the holidays.

Good to all of you who are showing some moderation in your holiday celebrations...I, for one, had pizza bites, onion rings and potato pancakes for breakfast - yesterday. As did all my brothers, it wasn't some kind of crazy binge. Just leftovers from the night before. And it hasn't stopped from there...

I have no self-control when it comes to the holiday food - and, truthfully, I'm not interested in exercising self-control for this little span of time. What's going to be tough for me is not having post-holiday binges, which is always something that gets me. Come Wednesday, I have to get tough on myself and exercise the self-control!

Have fun the next few days, whatever you eat or drink (or don't)!!

I'm betting not.

I, however, need help.
Holidays + New back pain = reduced working out

I need to lose weight entirely through diet over the next...who knows how many days or weeks or months... all while sitting on my ass a lot...although I should be able to get in some walking...but I'm not sure how much...

Darn it, maybe I shouldve weighed in as soon as I got up yesterday to see if I was at or just under 200.

I ate way too much yesterday but thankfully I only gained one pound from last week, so I am at 202.5. Ill take it. I felt like Violet Beauregard last night as I was leaving the party

Good luck this week gang!

Hey everybody...it sounds like people have only been doing minimal damage so far this week, which I think is great! Things will even out next week for sure...

HH that sucks about your back, what happened? Maybe you could do water cardio, swim laps or water walk? One time I forgot my goggles and decided to water walk and I was super-sore the next day - a much better workout than I'd expected and no impact on back or legs...

Theia, Brandy tight jeans and fat asses are SO in right now! No worries, you'll be back to normal in no time

Add me to the tight jeans and fat ass club. But it's still better than having a flat ass

Congrats on the loss Maples.

I held at 140 again this week. I figured I would drop a few pounds because I was not able to eat anything but soup all weekend, but I guess maybe all sugar and honey I was putting in my hot tea prevented that. I hate being sick.

I did pretty good yesterday. I kept to only 2 helpings of dinner and I limited the cookies to just 1. But the chips and dip we munched on while waiting for dinner was not good.

Chris,
What happened to your back? Darn it.

I haven't been on my scale yet. I'll do it in the morning. We just got home from mom's house, and I did ok, ran a lot and ate a lot. But it was all good, and we had a great time. That's all that matters to me right now. The weight will work itself back off if I gained.

Remember, it's a lifestyle folks! It's not THE HOLIDAYS year round. (thank goodness!)
