How's everyone doing this week? I won't weigh myself again until next week sometime but I'm sticking with my new habits and feeling good about them.

I'm hoping to start ramping up my running some more and am eager to see if the lbs. I've lost thus far make any difference.

I had one bad f**kin' day this week, and I'm up 3.6lbs since Sunday morning.

I'm back on track today, hopefully, but come on... a couple beers and a bowl of chili shouldn't have left me up almost 4 fuggin pounds...

Heater, it might be water/sodium weight. Don't despair. It's probably temporary. Drink lots of water to flush out your system. Eat clean the next few days. You'll get right back on track.

I have good news... I'm down to 147.8* AND 19.7% body fat!!!! This is the first time I've been below 20% in a while. I guess teaching 6 classes in 4 days is the trick. Seriously, one of my fitness goals this year was to make sure I lift weights at least twice a week. So far, it's working. Yippee!

* Same exact weight as last week, but it's good news b/c it means I maintained after being sick two weeks ago. I actually expected to be a bit heavier once I was able to eat.

Down another two pounds this week. Here are the stats:

Weight on 1/1/08: 184.5
Current Weight: 171.0
Goal Weight on 4/21/08: 150.0

21 more pounds to go.

I'm with Theia - I'd assume that you've added some water weight from your recent meals. Get back to eating well and you should be fine next week.

You guys are doing great!!! So happy for you all!!! And HH I agree, up the water and those pounds will be gone before you know it! If it makes you feel any better, my feet and ankles are the size of grapefruits and I am up 6 pounds in 2 days! Yeah, I am know, I have an different reason but still, at least you can still wear normal shoes and socks

Little update on my challenge to my friend (the no soda thing). Her weigh in was this weekend. She lost 2 pounds. I thought it would have been more (she drinks an insane amoutn of soda) but then she fessed up to the other junk she had during the week! So week 2 will be no soda and no candy! But the loss of 2 pounds made her smile and she is moving in the right direction. I think changing her diet a little at a time is going to be the way to go for her and if she is down another 2 this week I think it will just make her that much more motivated!!!

Heater I had the same week you did. I'm up 2.4 lbs since last Wed. Too many meals eating out (although I do try to make better choices when dining out still it is hard).

Ditto the comments re: water. Drink it up, my friend! I bet a lot of it is water retention.

HH, it's gotta be a lot of water weight. No way would that really make you gain that much. Hang in there. Think of the great loss you'll have for the first week of the challenge!!

I lost 1.2, of course, this is right before the challenge starts.

I bought filet mignon for dinner tonight. I love that you can buy it in small portions, like 200 calories for the small steak. I'll make either baked taters or home fries and roasted green beans to go with it. Mmmm... That's diet food, folks.

Good job everyone... even if you gained, it sounds like it's a pretty clear reason why. I think I'm in the same boat as Sara and HH...lots of eating out last week and some emotional crap. I'm up too. 210.5.

I'm in the HWLC, which started today, so that'll be some extra help to get things moving (Go Team 4!!). I made myself a checklist for water (100oz) and fruits/veggies (6) each day that I have to cross off - I'm a numbers/lists/rules person, so I think this'll work out. The veggie one I cross off when making my lunch and planning my dinners the day before, the water is throughout the day. We'll see how that goes. I went back to something that helps me lose which is whole oatmeal with fruit and walnuts for breakfast. 3 days in a row so far and it keeps me full about 1:30, which is perfect for me. I had forgotten about the whole regularity thing, though...

Beaker, that's AWESOME that your friend is seeing results and that you're helping her along! And congrats on your weight gain I'm sorry about the shoes, though...

Weight. Blech.

HH I weighed 5 pounds more last night than I did this morning. It was somewhat creepy, but don't despair.

CoachT - you're a powerhouse! You want to run for president or something?

So, healthy snacks question. I brought in a pinata to work (I'm quirky!), filled it with mini candy snacks cause I couldn't find anything that fits in a pinata AND doesn't require me to do a lot of home-made snack packing. The 100 calorie packs are generally to big to fit in the pinata. Any thoughts on healthy snack alternatives??
