Thanks for taking the week, HappyFeat. I can relate to that slogan!

There are a few I've gotten a good giggle out of. One that I'd like on the back of a shirt is.. "I run like a girl. Try to keep up!"

And then there's the inspirational quote from I<3 to Run on FB that I put up on the noteboard in my office:

"Your toughest challenge comes not from your competitors. It's the burning in your lungs, the ache in your legs and the voice in your head that's screaming "Stop!" But you don't listen. You dig down deep and push harder. And after a bit you hear a little voice inside that says "Can!" That's when you find out the person you thought you were is no match for the person you really are."

This week's official plan may get kyboshed by the sports med Dr, but if not........

M................. 7...................7.1

T.................. core etc......... done!

W................ 7................... zip

T................. 6 ....................7 (blech!)

F................. core etc ......... hips/core/abs/etc

S................ 16 .................. 16!

S................ rest ................ you bet!

Total: 30.1 miles

Thanks for taking the week HappyFeat;

All of those that are written above are great. I'm probably the only one on this board who wears a race shirt wide enough and long enough to fit that whole quote, though. :)

HappyFeat, your handle makes me think of a song or album by the group Little Feat, "Feats don't fail me now"

I like a shirt that my son's cross country team wore a couple of years ago. On the back it read, "Trample the weak, hurdle the dead".

My plan for the week is going to need to be adjusted a little bit. I'll be on a treadmill tonight and tomorrow morning so 6.33 with 3.33 at tempo might not happen tomorrow morning. But I'm going to see what happens.

Monday...................................5.0 easy, stretch, core (Abs)...................4.0, per plan.

Tuesday..................................6.33 inc 3.33 tempo, stretch, core (hips)...0, per plan

Wednesday.............................4.0 recovery, stretch, core (abs)...............

..............................................6.33 inc 3.33 tempo, stretch, core (abs)....5.5 inc 3.5 tempo, stretch, no core

Thursday.................................7.0 medium long, stretch, core (hips)........

..............................................4.0 recovery, stretch, core (abs)............... 4.0, per plan

Friday.....................................5.0 recovery, stretch................................

..............................................5.0 easy, stretch, core (hips)....................7.5 Mid-week Medium-Long, per plan

Saturday.................................0

Sunday...................................15 long (wife's birthday, may bump to Monday)

Total.......................................35

Execution...............................21 but pushing long run back a day or two.

Thanks, HappyFeat, for taking on the tallies for the weekly. I got my last week wrapped up last night.

My favorites aren't so much running related, but speaks to my attitude about running:

"Obsessed is just a word the lazy use to describe the dedicated." Heh, yep, that about sums it up. I also like "One More Mile..." as I'm closing in on that target.

I've been doing double workouts most days because I've been going to the gym at lunchtime with DH, then running after work. Weekends are mostly just running. I'm just thrilled with DH interested in getting in shape again!

Monday: 3.4 miles elliptical (26:30) and 15 minutes abs/core; no run though, just too tired and getting a cold

Tuesday: 2.5 miles elliptical (22:05) and 15 min upper body weights; 6.1 miles run after work, .3 mile walk

Wednesday: 2.5 miles elliptical (20:10) and 15 minutes abs/core; 10.1 miles on rolling hills after work, .5 mile walk

Thursday: 2.5 miles elliptical (19:40), 10 minutes upper body weights; 6.2 miles run @ 8:15 avg pace, .3 mile walk

Friday: 2.4 miles elliptical (19:55) and that was it. Chest hurts from coughing...

Saturday: Forced Rest Day, I feel better than yesterday but not up for a run.

Sunday: 3 miles of running and 1.25 miles walking before I cried uncle. Not well yet, at all.

Totals: 25.4 miles run, 2 miles walked, 13.3 miles elliptical and almost an hour of weights. Hope I feel better next week!
