I got in a very fun, solid 20 miler today with Amy & Elyssa. We had to contend with some strong winds, the fun of crossing 5 bridges and a lot of NYC-style frogger but we nailed it. Our journey started by running East along Central Park South up & over the Queensboro Bridge (bridge #1 & mile 15 of the NYCM) then south through Queens to the Pulaski Bridge (bridge #2 & HM mark of the NYCM) into Brooklyn. Through Greenpoint and Williamsburg and then back into Manhattan over the Williamsburg Bridge (bridge #3), south through Chinatown and once more back in Brooklyn via the Manhattan Bridge (bridge #4). Continued the route of our normal Friday bridges run into downtown Brooklyn edging Brooklyn Heights and over the Brooklyn Bridge (bridge #5) back into Manhattan where we backtracked a bit to get down to the water's edge at the Seaport on the path that would eventually wrap around Battery Park and up the West Side. There was a nice breeze for most of the run and strong wind gusts the entire time, especially the last 8 miles up the West Side but what a great feeling run and what awesome company in E and A!!! Body didn't ache much either, a little barking from my right heel but a quick stretch break did the trick. Very happy!

baggs, how you pheelin'?

just back from 12.5+ breezy but awesome miles. i'm feeling very clyde-ish but moved along @ 8:13mpm pace w/out too much trouble. i ended up stopping ~ mile 3.5ish to chat w/a local who was out for a little walk along the road (i saw him come out of his driveway).

and, 35 minutes later...

whoops. nice guy (~67 years old). funny how many connections an old timer (him) and an almost old-timer (me) have in common growing up in a ~rural~ setting. definitely a good connection if i want to try some new grounds in an attempt to fill my freezer w/fresh 'produce'.

i'm thinking of testing the waters w/dw to see if she wants to make a road trip to philly for a little getaway and some marathon voyeur-ing. she likes philly. so do i. solar, maria, i know you'll be around, right? anyone else? theia, goV? heather? brandy, are you coming out east? where the hell is scratch? is LL running?

a hotel might be tough though...

i smell...time for a shower and a margaritas.

cheers
