Nice 20 miler yesterday, KS!

Hi TW! Hi HF! Hi FO! Hi PT!

I've been more or less AWOL now for a few days, as life has just been a bit too busy. Ran the 25K at the Run For The Toad yesterday. My time was 2:48....23rd AG.... 5 minutes slower than last year, under better (non-muddy) conditions. Temps started out at around 4°C, with a few snowflakes coming down (eeeek!)..... forcing the first LS run of the fall. Many runners went out overdressed.... with full length tights and jackets, some even with fleece on. Was glad I chose shorts with a 3/4 zip merino wool IceBreaker top, with a light vest. Before finishing half of the first loop, I had the vest rolled down and tucked into my fuel belt and felt comfortable clothing-wise the rest of the way. Unfortunately, I hadn't really trained fully for this, with only three runs within the last 6 weeks over 10 miles and the longest being 13.6 miles. The injection for the neuroma didn't work, so the foot remained a bit sore, even with the padding, and after the first 16-18K, my hamstrings started complaining rather loudly. So I concentrated on my glutes, walked up the worst of the hills, kept my stride short and got 'er done. Guess I should just be pleased I was still able to break 3 hours. They gave everyone a nice finishing medal, plus a nice meal after....all 1350 of us!

Rested today... will do a recovery run tomorrow.
