it's been a while since i started one of these things so i'll take advantage of a late bedtime and get it going.

hey all, hope you're doing well. i try to take a peek in here and read every now and then, but with so much travel lately and with work being as ballistic as it is i haven't had much time for horsing around.

running? none for me.

but i did just buy a bike. so as soon as i get over the sticker shock and put some miles in, i'm sure i'll feel better about the purchase. i don't actualy get the bike until later next week so i'm really chomping at the bit. i went out for 2 test rides and worked up a good lather doing it. let me tell you, breathing in the cold air and having it blow in my face felt unbelievablly good. what a stress reliever those brief rides were, even though they were probably only 5-10 miles total!

it was great to hook up with moon last week and i'm bummed that kris was a week late in getting out to the left coast. i'm thankful that he was responsible the night we went out - i certainly wasn't (shocker, huh?).

well, go get 'em and get to exercising. i need a dankinia-like (was that her kr name?) update on the recent goings-on around here. anyone?

one of my best friends is stepping in for me and running boston on what would have been my #. in return, i'm helping him fundraise to exceed his goal for the Respite Center (the same charity I have run for the last 8 years). If interested in supporting the cause, please send me a note.

duck/jen, i'm hanging in hopkinton on sunday and monday AM and will be in the city afterwards. got plans that you feel like sharing? a PM may be best.

cheers

Duck- I can help with Butler gear. Let me know what you need
I made it to Danbury with plenty of time to spare. Now I have to wait around for like an hour in the cold. This is beautiful weather for running, but not for standing around...

Go Bob Go!

Go Tim Go!

Well by now both Tim and Bob should be enjoying beers and harty congratulations!!!

My running partner today wanted to reschedule the long run due to rain... I didn't object too loudly So my LR became an LB - over an hour on the bike with some rolling hills to keep it interesting. One thing I have found on the bike is that intervals of some sort are necessary (and a good DVD). So today was 6x2min (1:00RI) and 6x3min (1:00RI) with a warm up and cool down.

Felt pretty good.

Well, I'm done. But I think the beers will wait until later, since I have to drive 80 miles to get back home. Anyway, the race went well. It's a tough (hilly) course, and it was a windy day. But I believe I got a new PR, right around 1:41:00. I'll happily take that... I'll write more after I get home.

Woot for the shiny PR, Bob!

Nice work on the PR boB!

Even though Tonya and her people decided it wasn't good weather to run in I braved the rain, wind, and cold for 12.5 miles with 2x10 minutes tempo, 40 minutes easy, 20 minutes of tempo thrown in. Pretty pleased with everything.

Congrats to Maples for not giving up, Brandy for persevering, Cindi & Duck on their LRs & both boB & Tim on shiny new HM PRs!!! Also, big ups to Dan for sticking out a very tough situation and always coming in here to report on the latest, post some food porn details and making us all laugh.

Me, I decided to stop being a slacker and got a nice 9.35 miles in while running up the Hudson towards the GWB and back. A bit windy but man that sun is like heaven!!

Wow, lots of great running today!

They seem to have recorded my time as 1:40:55, which is a few seconds faster than I recorded myself. So I'll take it. My PR was on this course last year, at 1:41:06. So I shaved off 11 seconds. Not a lot, but I'll take it. Especially since this was a really windy day. The course was pretty hilly, and the steepest uphill climb was straight into the wind, from Mile 9 thru 11. But kicked it back up and did Mile 12 as my fastest one of the day (7:02). Now I'm home, and I feel like I need a nap...

Heh, I crossed like 50 state lines today. I went from New Jersey to New York, into Connecticut, then back to New York, then back to Connecticut. And that was just on the way there. I did that whole thing in reverse on the way home. I drove on this bit of I684 that just nips the southwestern tip of CT for about a mile as I headed north. This highway always cracks me up, on those rare occasions that I have to take it...

Oh , I noticed that I came in 132nd place overall, but 43rd in my Age Group. Jeez, it's like1/3 of the race was M30-39! Sheesh!

Hi hi hi hi...catching up... nice running and racing, everyone!!

PR's and 12 milers and hard hilly races and 25ks...wow! Oh, and Boston peeps! I'm so excited for you all...it's the motivation I need. (Read: I'm becoming a big old lazy A$$ and it's starting to show).

I haven't been keeping up well (as usual..it's just how I am, sadly). Anyway, I realized this weekend after running with Nettie and Sage that I"m not living up to my running potential. It was great to go with them and really inspiring...over 10 miles, but my total was 13 (did three on the TM earlier). I was happy with it but I most certainly am slogging through my runs. Time to get a good plan together, methinks. I'm a little too floppy and nebulous lately.

Summer race schedule to come!! :D

I also promised Ail I'd start being a bit more accountable about the Insanity, too. :) You guys drive a hardddd bargain.

Funny running story today: aneighbor said, "I see you running all the time. Are you training for something?"

"Nothing big...just some shorter races this year." To which he replied, "Car races?" !!??? Ummm...??

Yes. Just call me Danika. :)

Woot on the PRs and great running!

Glad to hear you are getting back at it Crane! Be sure to keep Wisconsin on your radar when you make your schedule.

I am busting with excitement because I did it - I hit 75 miles this week. 75.5 to be exact. This is definitely a mileage PR and I have only hit 70 a handful of times. So woot! My long run today was hard and my legs were loggy, but they served me well. :) Four weeks until Eugene.

Nice work everyone!

WOW. My legs are aching, mainly my hamstrings. Very odd as I rarely have felt soreness in that area. So glad this is a total rest day.

Wowzers, some super running reports here = races, mileage and mojo! Must be something in the air because even I got outside for a wee 3 mile run today! Sadly, the last outdoor run on my Garmin was January 27. Lame. I am never going to hit that 1000 mile goal if I don't get my shit together. I need new shoes too, my IT band was feeling a little tight a mile in and GOD KNOWS it's not from overuse. If the shoe whisperer isn't available I may as well go somewhere local. boo.I also am in dire need of a new computer. This one is in it's final death throes. I have to hurry up and post because I'm getting the blue screen of death about 5 tmies a day. I backed up my photos and music already so when it goes, I have anything important saved. Happy trails everyone.

Sweet! I have Dances with Dirt on my race schedule. Anyone else want to meet up for this? Should be fun and there are a variety of different distances. I am about 45 mins to an hour away and have plenty of room.

Hey all,

congrats to everyone on some great running and to boB on his new PR!

I came home with a new PR in the bag too. 1:33:19 for HM. I was in foot race to the line with my training partner. I had a few beers after the race since I wasn't driving then when I got home I crashed in the bed for over two hours. I'm still tired. It's been a long day. Bed is calling.

Catch ya'll tomorrow.
