Morning, everyone.

In a few minutes, I'm heading to Stone Mountain for my two laps, totaling 10 miles. I've been fighting the 'beginning stages' of the latest cold/flu/bug thing that one of my coworkers decided to "share" at the office (instead of staying home.. grr). Luckily, most of Thurs and Fri were spent chilling at the house with many naps, and I feel pretty good this morning.

I have no idea how much of the 10 miles are going to be completed, or even run... but I'm gonna give it a fair shot and just see what happens. Must keep my training going strong!

2 miles of neck breaking fun this morning. Apparently, it rained last night and then it got really cold, so just about everything is covered in slick ice. I wish I had known this when I was contemplating the treadmill.

Morning Gang -

Heading over to my BIL's so he can watch the kids while I do 12 miles. Hoping the winds hold off for a few hours so I can do it outside instead of on the TM. I've never run 12 on a TM and think it would be mentally tough.

Maples - Good Luck!! Can't wait to hear how it goes!

LH - let us know how the chocolate is. Oh, and the race too.

Hope all the sickies get better!

Good runs to all!

Go Maples!!!

Go Racers!!!

Litch - you made the right decision.

Got 4 scheduled for today, am thinking it might be a good date with The Transporter - just 'cause yeah, Jason Statham. . .

Other than that - it's supposed to get nasty cold here. Good day to snuggle on the couch with cocoa and study.

Good luck to Maples and everyone in Birmingham.

I just got back from 6.6 miles, giving me 23.2 for the week, most miles in a week for me since the first week of January.

Good Luck Ailarie - if it's like what I have (it's above the neck) with some 'flu' like aches... Running actually makes me feel a little better. I started coming down with it on Wednesday. I took Wednesday off... then ran Thurs and Fri... and I'm actually feeling pretty good today (except for a little left over sinus pressure in my head when I do things like bend down to pick things up, or lean forward too much).

Hope you feel better, and get a good run in. If you're coughing a lot, or just don't feel it... remember, it's OK to take a rest when you're sick...

Hi everyone!

Haven't been around much. I kind of needed a break from everything, plus work is kicking my ass in a big way and I never get to check in.

Anyhow, running has been great this week---my first double digit week since before getting my appendix out in November. I ran 16 miles this week, including the most FABULOUS 6-miler this morning.

DH needs something, so I have to run. Hopefully I'll check in to the fun thread later.

morning!

just back from an easy 5 miles. probably would have been even easier if I hadn't had a bunch of wine, a coffee with baileys and a beer and was home before 1:30am last night, but...

Good decision Tim!
Good luck racers!!!
Congrats on the mileage this week Diane! It's great to see you!
Feel better Myron, Mandy, and Ailarie!

Ran about 9.5 today with the group. I founds out that they always have cookies at the end of the run, so I decided to hang around instead of leaving as soon as I was finished.

Have a great day!

Ailarie, Litch, RFTL, et al, I hope you have great runs today too.

Myron, Mandy, and Ailarie, I hope that you feel better soon. Mandy, it's too bad you were laid up, because it was an excellent morning for a run!

I got in 9 miles (give or take) and I made really good time, on a hilly out-and-back route no less. There was a new guy running with our group today, and it turned out he planned to run at my usual pace. We ended up going out a bit fast for us both (10:15 average for the 1st 2 miles, which isn't far off from my 5K pace in those races). I slowed down a little bit after he turned around (he was only doing 7), but I know my last mile was still in the 10 minute range. This is good for me. If I can hold strong like this through training, I should PR at either Athens or Madison.
