Set my alarm for 5 AM this morning planning on getting my 8 mile run in but simply couldn't make myself get up. I even went to be early too. I'm just not caught up on sleep yet.

All that means is I'll be doing my run tonight on the treadmill when we get home from a family event.

Good luck to the weekend racers!

Mornin' Larry and those to follow...

Had an hour to kill during the night because I wasn't hungry so I went up to the top floor of the parking garage and walked for awhile. It's kinda neat up there cause of the heliport. Running later today, after sleep.

Good luck to those racing this weekend and good workouts/runs to all.

Well, with all the walking yesterday I managed 11 miles on foot. (That's my run & walks combined.)

Because of that I was a bit tired this morning when I got up, but still managed to get 9 miles in this morning. Sunrise was gorgeous. Saw several herds (packs? Gaggles?) of deer. And got chased by a chocolate lab. Not bad chased, more "OO! Someone to run with!" chased. The owner was calling him back, but he was more interested in me, so I turned around and ran him a quarter mile back to the owner and chatted with her and pet the 3 wiggly dogs. It was funny.

WOOHOO! Racers! Good luck!

I'm in a similar boat as Maples - I'm going to do SOMETHING today but I don't know what and I don't know when since PacerWife is working for a few hours. I'm hoping I can zip over to the local running store this afternoon - they host a little party every year called the Boston Tea Party (for BQ'ers). In the 10 years I've lived here and this Boston will be my 8th, I've not once made it to this little soiree. They give out free tech shirts and tips on the course and you can find out who else is going, where they're staying, etc.

Good luck to the racers - I'm interested to see if PTom dipped under 16:00, If he did it this early in the season, that's huge. And good results to Solar and the MN folks and anyone else racing today.

Later!

i'm gearing up the dog to go for a nice long walk around town now. just had a great brunch whipped up by ds... i've been running for time, rather than distance. 30 minutes, before eating this morning - and 30 minutes yesterday. i've made peace with my treadmill. sort of.

ratfraggle snat fracker. if i were p-tom, i'd have that baby calibrated already...

the very finest tailwinds to you racers! happy trails, all.

yay!

i could totally dog sit....

Katholeenie... it was so foggy here that I got lost in my subdivision where i was running. had to ask some old guy for directions.

that sounds rad!

Got in 8 with the group today. Sucked balls. Time was lame.... couldn't see... got lost. Took Hank (who did pretty well on his first time not on a path...i know it sounds weird, but he wasn't totally sure where to go and he still doesn't trust me enough to be a good lead dog to just follow...). Somehow got jammed up and did a header over Hank. No shit. Bad days are the ones when you think to yourself, "fuck me...there go my feet" and you're looking up. Lucky for me, I know how to fall and while i scraped this holy hell out of my hands I got good roll on and rolled over my shoulder w/o tearing anything up. Was more worried about Hank who clearly has more sense that his girl, because when i lost the leash he went straight into a down.

I think I'm a go hit the bike in the basement. Not ride it or anything. Just kick it.

my short race report: 23:33, a new 5k PR, 3rd in my age group. I didn't feel super, so I was a little surprised with my time, but I'll take it! This was a ridiculously fast field...

Tom ran a great race, as well. I'll leave those details for him to tell!

Ran an extra 7 today, too, so a total of 10.1 miles for the day

Good luck to the rest of the weekend racers!!
