Hi folks!

I'm baaaaaaaack!

Well, for a few days, anyway.........

TW...... that's fabulous news on Pickles' markers! Made my day to come home and see that!

The Claire comments made me laugh.... how long do you have her with you?

I see Gobi's back.... and with only one big goal race for the fall. Good to see you buddy!

Hope you have the insomnia licked, HappyFeat. You seem to be running very well.

And I found the discussion over your training very interesting. I'm almost on the opposite end of the spectrum........ only getting in 4 running days a week, with an average of 25-30 miles a week when things are going well. Perhaps I'd be getting better success at races if I trained more, but the last time I got the mileage up into the 35-40 mile range, in prep for a 50K, I started showing symptoms of overtraining. Maybe I could have pulled it off 10 years ago, but at age 55, I think I'm pushing the envelope enough.

Hi KS, Rip, Mike, Johnny, Tamster!!

I got in a few nice runs while while at the cottage, including a 5 miler with a couple of miles tempo included.... first tempo in a while and it felt marvellous. Raced this morning (12K trail), but wasn't feeling very well, perhaps due to the heat. Legs were OK, but I started too fast and wasn't sure the gel I took at the half way point was going to stay down. A couple of K of very technical single track helped with the focus and settled my stomach..... managed 3rd AG, 111/141.
