What is fun is that I don't have 20 bazillion things planned this weekend. Running, football games, maybe going to see a band tonight.

What is fun is runner friends coming in the next few weeks: GoV, then the marathon peeps. I'm so excited to either see or meet all of you!

What is also fun is the weather. I HATE being cold and woke up this morning saying "oh, it's a little chilly...YAY!"

It's been a long summer, eh?

415 on a saturday morning is a stupid time to be up. It's going to be even stupider tomorrow morning. I just keep saying " I love OT pay checks.. I love OT pay checks"

There was a HUGE thunderstorm on my way in this morning and I ran over a sh!t load of frogs. I have been informed that a bunch of frogs is called an Army of Frogs.

Made it to best friend's house last night. Traffic was a disaster, and the trip took 5 hours instead of 2.5. Unreal.

Up and at 'em & on the road now in just a few more minutes!!!

Will have limited access to a PC for the next few days... Will stop in and say hi whenever I can.

Wippy, also a "colony", "froggery" or "knot" of frogs.

BTW, it's a "stack of librarians". I just had to look that up the other day...when I was sitting in a bar with a bunch of fellow MLSs and we realized we didn't know the collective noun. Wonder what is it for nerds? :p

Busy day for me today, off to see a house for sale this morning, then apple picking with my landlord friends, then going to meet up with boB and his friends tonight. Also, depending on when that happens, I might try to catch my friend's show later...his first solo show.

I have a lot to do today, but I think a nap squished between all my boys is first on the list.

Bonnie from Stitch Sisterz is at a fiber show (A Wool Gathering) this weekend, and she took a bunch of yarn bowls. I'm curious to see a) if people will buy them and 2) how they like the new glazes I tested.

I really like this purple... it goes from lavendar to inky blue-y purple, all on the same pot depending how thick the glaze is. (this pic doesn't really do it justice. And it doesn't help that the mask I drew made the edge of the back one all funky. Hey, it was late. I was tired. )

I also tried a new green. While I like the color, the glaze is just flat. As in there isn't any variation or floating of color or mixing with the cream glaze. I'm going to experiment a bit to see if I can get it to do anything interesting. And I don't really like how sharp the blue squiggles are. That glaze didn't spread or melt in or anything.

Hey, all. Got my walk in this morning and now I'll head out for some errands. On my walks, I usually spin a story in my head to just let my mind take it where it wants. Today's was totally depressing and as I was walking along the road and trail, I was actually making myself cry! It was so weird. When I got home, I had a voice mail from my neighbor who wants to know if I can sit in the house with her baby tonight while he's asleep so she and her husband can go to a movie. It was really cute. So, I'm babysitting tonight, apparently. What's the going rate these days?

Have a great weekend, everyone!

word of advice: don't move with a newborn b/c its NOT easy!! we moved some fragile/important stuff on our own today and it went smoothly but as you all know, moving is pretty stressful.

MIL continues to badger, nag, and be overly involved. this morning at 6am, she barged into our room to see if we were still sleeping and woke the baby. i was SO pissed. she also calls the baby a wicked and bad baby when Allie fusses. i very frankly told her not to b/c newborns fuss and cry just b/c they're newborns and not b/c they are wicked/evil. in my postpartum, sleep- deprived, emotionally charged state, i think i might be starting to hate my MIL.

Missy - OMG I cannot believe MIL. You must be so stressed out with her there. What does your husband say? I know it's his mom, but seriously WTF??? You poor thing. Deep breaths. Only a few more days. Next time she says she's coming to visit, you need to tell her that's great, there is a hotel down the block. You are welcome to come for dinner, etc., but you are not staying with us. Seriously! Hang in there.

It took me longer to get through what I wanted to on the sweater today, but I have to say I'm rather pleased with how it is working. I have a picture in my head of how I want it to look, but the actual technical bits I'm figuring out as I knit it. And it's working! YEEHAW!!!

I like the green, kath. Can you put a yellow O in the middle?

We're camped out at my sister's house. We hand over the house keys to the renters in the morning. We still have a bit of cleanup to do before that happens.

Wish I was out drinking with moe and bob tonight!

Went to see Brandi Carlile last night. She was amazing and we had an amazing spot to stand. I of course had to come into work at 5 this morning so I'm cranky as hell but my funny people here thought it'd be a good idea to wear all bright colors to try to annoy me. I don't get the annoying part of that but it's funny none the less.

For some odd reason I can't self regulate my temperature today. I'm roasting my ass of and freezing at the same time. It's like I have the beer/ meat sweats with out having any beer or meat!!

I hope all of you have a fantabulous day as once I get home at 1130 I'm hitting the sofa for a nap.

Morning, all! In the middle of a thunderstorm here, but it looks like it's going to pass over sooner than I would like. I would love to have a lazy Sunday ensconced in my house while the storm blows around me. Oh, well. I'm going to try to finish the bread cover that I regret starting. In reality, there's not much left, but it will still take forever, I think. I also need to practice the new cello music. Last season, I played the bass part on the cello, and as bass guitarists know, the bass part is usually pretty uncomplicated. I'm probably the least skilled of the cellists, so that was a-ok with me. Well, this season, the instructor wants to pass the bass part among all the cellists so I have a couple of pretty complicated parts. I'm trying to be less bossy about things, so I'm submitting as gracefully as it's possible for someone who likes to get her way. I'm going to do my best.

Morning!!

Great weekend so far. DH worked like a madman yesterday in the backyard and it is now almost winterized, just needs some help today putting on our pool cover. I got loads of inside stuff done then sat outside with little man and our neighbor's son, watching then play. BIL's house last night, kind of a housewarming party for his GF who recently moved in with him. Aiden was having a blast with her cats!!

No idea what today will bring yet!!

Missy that is unreal!! No newborn is bad or wicked. And I give you credit cause no way no how I would have stood for that, don't care who I would have offended. Sorry you are so stressed out right now but in the grand scheme, it's good that your MIL has some time with her grandbaby and moving will be well worth it once that huge quality of life increase sets in!

Ok folks, enjoy this dy and Wippy get thee to a couch ASAP!!!

Hi all - I figured out I have a ton of couscous waiting to be cooked. Gonna' look for some ideas on how to go through that and then hit the market.

Had an apple fritter for breakfast that was sorely lacking in the apples - need a bakery where I don't have to drive 10 miles one way to get some better sweet treats than this

Wow Missy. Just WOW. You might win worst MIL award. Wicked evil baby?? And barging into your room at 6 a.m. is completely inappropriate in any case but to have woken Allie on top of it? That would have pushed me over the edge. I can remember not wanting to make an enemy of my MIL but I had to establish some rules with regards to my kids. Like, no smoking around my kids, no spanking my kids, and for goddsakes do NOT put brandy on the teething gums. They also thought that Watkins Black Salve was a cure for everything. Scary. I'm sending calming zen vibes to you, woman! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Fun - celebration for DD's 17th birthday this weekend. SeesterGoon and the boys came for the weekend and we all went to the Mall of America yesterday. Slit my wrists it was ScrapFest 2010. What a ZOO! 5 hours there and then back home for pizza. We had cake and presents on Friday night. She had a pretty high tech birthday - my Mom got her a laptop and I got her a snazzy purple cell phone. SeesterGoon and the boys got a really cool laptop lap desk. You could probably all hear the SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEing from wherever you are.

Sunday is passing by quickly and I've got stuff I still wanna get done today! Ack! I gotta get movin'!
