I'm pretty awkward, trust me. I'm a dork. Oh and Brandy, harmonograph?

Lucky you Litchy. I am meeting the set designer and director at 9:45 to shop for set and costume stuff; from there we are heading to the theatre where the director works to rummage for stuff, then I'm off to our theatre to meet my assistants to work on costumes. I might slip home, but I have to be back at the theatre at 6 for a photo exhibit reception, then we're seeing the play tonight (Rumors).

Tomw we're heading to Chinatown for dimsum (yay! Oache, you beat me by a day), then tomw evening I have rehearsal. My first dance rehearsal.

Last night we went to see Chess at the theatre that is renting me some costumes. Not only did they rent them to me cheap, but they comped me a seat. Cabaret seating...I was in 1A. VIP. Nice. I need to make sure we comp the costumer a ticket too. He really did me a favor.

About that show, Chess, mid-'80s rock musical. About the cold war and chess. Didn't know much about it...until midway through the first act. When they did "One Night in Bangkok"!!! I never knew why that song was always called "ONIB(Chess)"...there you go!

Chess Trivia - Songs by Tim Rice and the dudes from Abba. Tim Rice was also invloved in things from Jesus Christ Superstar, Evita, The Lion King, and Beauty and the Beast.

Speaking of shows... There is a program called Kids Night on Broadway, where you can get heavily discounted tickets to B'way shows. However, every adult must be accompanied by a child. We got tix for my two older kids for Christmas. My 8 YO went to see Grease on Tuesday. As part of the KNOB program, there was a bunch of stuff going on at Madame Toussault's - Dancing with the cast of A Chorus Line, makeup with the cast of Legally Blonde, etc. There was a Spamalot scavenger hunt. When you found all of the items, you got a prize. My 8 YO now has a hand puppet of the killer rabbit. He loves the darn thing. Will need to get a picture and post later.

Hi!

So, Moe, was Chess good? I knew it was the origin of that song, but don't actually know anything about the rest of the show.

Okay, wasn't I sick a month ago? Weirdest thing - last night, I was on the phone with my dad around 10pm. I've had a mild chest cold all day, but it hadn't turned into anything more. 10:45pm, I call my brother Danny - when I speak, my voice is almost gone! So now I've got a fever, sharp cough, and a Kathleen Turner voice.

So, my weekend will likely be mostly lounging around in flannels, drinking tea and soup. Not actually how I wanted to spend my weekend...

THen we are off to DD's baseball game. Not sure of the plans after that. We have an overnight sitter arranged for the kiddos, just notu sure what we will do.

Hey everyone!

I posted in the running thread...because I've actually been running! But wanted to say hi here, too.

I haven't been around much---needed a break, felt like people might need a break from me, and work has been INSANE so I have no time to check in. Between now and the end of May, I will be out of the office 3 out of the 5 work days each week, with local and regional travel. I'm actually going to Baton Rouge in March and New Orleans in April, and then Kentucky in July. But a lot of those days is doing the same training series that you all have heard me talk about for almost 2 years.

On the health front, my shoulder injury is all better, after 12 PT sessions. I was telling Frankie that, as late as session 8 or 9, I was skeptical that it was going to work. But the therapist himself was amazing and I was 1000% committed to doing the exercises at home without fail, and it all came together. I do have to have minor surgery at the end of the month---to remove and biopsy a lump on my leg that my doctor is almost positive is benign. If he says don't worry, then I'm not going to worry. Oh---and remember my root canal saga from the summer? Guess who had to get the tooth completely taken apart and retreated yesterday? DH is convinced there's a lawsuit in it for us...

Not much else to report. Things are on the upswing, though, which is great. Oh, and I spent my injury-recovery time being really strict with my diet and have lost 11 pounds.

OK, so I think that's enough from me so far. Good to "see" you all and I'll check back in later.

morning - just finished doing some house diy stuff and now I am going to walk the dog and go to a local indoor track to run my long run. The footing outside is horrible and the wind is starting to pick up. I don't like that.

So here is a pic of the front view of the hair...not done again (see above why). I am also "modeling" one of my new shirts from Roadrunner sports. I love this shirt and will buy another....$15 ...oh yeah

I don't think so. I'm kind of all over the board. And now that you've asked, I can't think of people. And I wouldn't laminate this or anything.

Clive Owen (preferably from King Arthur days. Definitely #1, and I'd laminate him. heh.)
Sting
Chris Botti
Lenny Kravitz

uh.... lemme think...

Brandy, your hair looks great! I love the cut!

Not too much going on today. I'm thinking of taking the girls bowling. DH is currently sleeping on the couch, so it might be fun for some girl time! DD2 has a birthday party later, so I might take DD1 to get her softball stuff during that time.

That's it for me! Have a fun day everyone!

Hi all! Not much going on here, the excitement of my weekend was my long run. Had a cute new (but very married) guy running with me for the 1st 3.5 miles (he turned around, I went longer). But, I did get to see other cute new guy and talked to him for a bit after the run again. First time we've both been there on Saturday in about 4 weeks.

Moe, I have known the music to Chess for years but have never had the chance to see the show itself. Did you like it?

Hey Diane! I'm glad your shoulder is better, but yeowch! on the root canal stuff. I've never had one, and I don't wanna.

Noni- now see, that sounds like an ideal weekend to me. Instead, I need to do some more work on reorganizing my bedroom and such. I have a big pile of stuff to be donated to Goodwill in my living room. I think I'll need my sister's help (or more specifically, her big-ass SUV) to haul it there.

Brandy- love the cut!

Hi Diane, good to see you on here.

How are the bruises from the fall, Katholeenie?

Great cut, Brandy!

This weekend is kindof busy for me. Got up and went grocery shopping and got angry with the bill. More than I expected for not that much, what else is new!

Now I'm cooking Poached Chicken in Ginger and Scallion sauce for my friends Chinese New Years party tonight. DH's contribution is 3 qts of pork fried rice, which he will probably eat a quart of himself, lol.

Tomorrow my parents are coming up for my dad's birthday. Got some nice top sirloin steaks to grill and am making him a confetti cake (DD's idea - her favorite).

Thanks for all the thoughts and prayers for my friend, Bob. He didn't end up having surgery yet, they released him because the neurosurgeon wasn't ready to operate. He goes in for surgery on Tuesday. The brain tumor is like 3 inches by 2 inches!!! He won't know anymore until they test the tissue once its out. Hopefully it will be benign.

Have a great weekend everyone.
