I don't think "Gee, I wish someone would scratch my butt" has ever crossed my mind...

Not fun: I got home from the group run to a grumpy household and reports of illness with DH and DS. So far DD is okay. Fingers crossed that it's quick and doesn't spread!

Fun may be overshadowed by the above. We'll see.

Well, what if Katholeenie was the one doing the scratching?

Not fun: I think I'm getting a cold.

Fun: it has cooled off so I can work on the blanket some more without sweating my ass off.

Morning, everyone. I went out for my walk this morning and then got lots of loving from the neighbor cat, who I'm watching while his people are away at a wedding. It's nice to pet a cat that doesn't try to claw me for giving affection. Then I got caught in football traffic on the way to and from my CSA, but it wasn't too horrible. I guess I should pay closer attention to the football schedule. Anyhow, I really want to finish the bread cover, and I have 6 books out of the library that I want to read. Almost all of them can be renewed, but the one that can't must be read quickly.

Have a good weekend, everyone. I hope the colds stay away (but the cooler weather is welcome)!

Fun: being done with clothing shopping. I must be the only girl that doesn't like clothes shopping. (Unless I'm in Dicks' Sporting Goods, or something like that).

With my HS reunion coming up in about 3 weeks, I had been debating about what to wear. I have a long, black sleeveless dress that feels good on me, and looks good on me. But I'm really not a dress person. Meh. Plan B was to buy a skirt and top of some sort. Items that looked cute on the hangars did not look as amusing on me. Though I was pleased to fit into a teen's L miniskirt. (heh.. it was a very generous L). Decided that my runner legs didn't look good in mini's.

Finally said "F-it" and after searching an entire mall, Kohl's and Belk's, I went with what feels comfy and is ME. New dark jeans and a wear-untucked blouse. (ankle boots will accompany the outfit) I figure I'll be there to see my friends, and since they all liked my casual style before, I might as well go with what worked then, and continues to work now.

I am not a big fan of shopping either. Although I went today and had lots of fun! I picked out some cool yarn and knitting needles for friend's wife (the wife of my friend in the hospital). She is very, very talented, but most their stuff is in storage, so I thought I'd bring her some goodies. I totally do not know how to knit, so hopefully she'll like what I got.

Not fun: I woke up with the head cold DH and the boys have. Ick. Hopefully I can kick it quickly.

Fun: going out tonight!

OOOH - more fun: One of the things I love about running is all the people I see while I am out. There are some people I know only from passing them in running and we always say hi and have small talk. Today when running, one of my GOTR girls saw me and yelled "Hi Mindi!" She was so excited. When I looped back - I yelled "hi" to them again and one of the littler girls came running down the hill yelling "Mindi, Mindi!" I looped back and she ran up to me with a big smile telling me she was in Jakey's class. Too cute. Fun stuff.

Oh no you're not. It's torture. Makes me feel like a mutant every time I go. Too short, too hippy, too small a waist, too muscular, blah blah blah.

HATE. IT.

Which is why I told my fashionista friend Will that, once I find a job, he has to go shopping with me and pick out a wardrobe.

Ok, I do usually like shoe shopping though. Shoes actually fit.

Fun - Dh roasted a turkey breast, so our house smells DEEEEEEEEELICIOUS.

MORE fun: I hear that the Toledo Rockets beat Purdue 31-20.

Spent about 3 hours on the bread cover this evening and finished it! I'll wash it tomorrow and see how well the tie-offs hold. The wedding was today, so that counts, right? Hopefully, I'll see the bride in the next couple of weeks and can give it to her. Up next: baby bib for a kid born a couple of weeks ago. "I" for Iris. It's got Jeremy Fisher, which isn't very girly, but it's still cute. Consolidated some of my thread and discovered that I have multiples of some colors that I don't use very often. I hate when that happens.

I also hate shopping because I can never find anything that doesn't either make me look like a hooker or that I'm living in a tent. I do need some more clothes though, and I just got a gift card in the mail from Kohl's (plus, I have a Kohl's GC from a birthday gift) so I guess I'll have to make a trip there in the next couple of weeks.

See you on the flip side, kids!

Yeah not a banner day for the boilers. Hope the bye week is enough time to pull something together, but not holding my breath. We were listening on the radio and it was clear the announcers were not expecting to need to know much about the Toledo rockets

THe funny thing is that every year the Rockets pull off a win against one of these big teams. You'd think they'd see a pattern and come better prepared.

The freaking squeaky/vibrate-y noise is going to be the death of me. CRAP night of sleep. I can not figure out where the noise is coming from, and it keeps waking me up. Dh doesn't hear it because he's at work (can't hear it during the day when he is home), so he doesn't really know what I'm talking about to help figure it out.

As far as having someone scratch my butt....I don't know. I'm stil on the fence with that one. What I do wish is that my sixteen year old would stop scraching his everytime he lies on the livingroom floor to watch tv. (I do have furniture. He just chooooooses to lie ((lay) ley) on the floor. All six foot three inches of him. Gro-O-ss!

Fun: I bought a new washer and dryer yesterday at Lowes (yes, we now have Lowes here IN The North. Wonderful invention.) and they are delivering them this morning. Woohooo!! I'm so excited. Nothing. And I mean Nothing, turns my crank more than replacing an old, crappy, time sucking, energy wasting appliance for a new efficient Working appliance. Today, I get to experience it twice!

Fun: The leaves on the trees are turning beautiful bright autumn colors. It's Mother Natures way of giving you a good hard awakening slap in the face, that says: "Duffus! Enjoy the good weather now. It's going to snow soon!"

Subject for you to talk amongst yourself on: Impotence is Nature's way of saying:: No hard feelings.

I saw your comment about the leaves and read it to my sister this morning. We both laughed. and then cringed because you are right!

I hope you went out. I've been trying all day. It doesn't look like it's gonna happen. I've been in and out of the arenas since the delivery guys came with my new appliances. Maybe, I'll get a Darktime walk in after supper. DS#3 likes those. So do I.

Wahoo! Back from camping! Arrived home to DD down and out MISERABLE with a cold. Grandma was taking good care of her but she was happy to see Mom. Pico was kenneled and DS was off at a friends birthday sleepover/trip to the Mall of America water park most of the weekend so at least she had some quiet restful time here with Grandma. Though I am now sanitizing and Airborning like a madwoman. We are all going to bed at 8:00 tonight! Lots of REST!

Camping was great - though it did rain much of yesterday. So we morning napped and then went to town for brunch and hit an antique shoppe and an ice cream shoppe, then afternoon napped, so even with the rain it was fun! Last night was cool and dry and we bundled up in blankets and snuggled by the fire in the new camp couch that I gave C on Tuesday for his birthday.

And today was glorious! OK, this is how lucky a girl I am: I ran out and back on the bike trail and while I was gone C started up the big Sunday campfire breakfast, so when I returned the bacon was a'frying in the pan over the fire and the coffee was hot and ready. Awesome! Then I went to sit down on the camp couch and put my feet up on our footrest log and this is what I saw.

awww! He smushed some charred wood across it and rubbed it off to make it stand out and it looks more rustic, like it's been there a long time. <sigh> makes my heart go pitter pat.

OK I'm going to catch up on the rest of the threads now!

Hope everyone had a great weekend!
