Ready to hit the road with the girls soon. They keep calling it a girly trip. I think they forget how sore we will be from running tomorrow :)

I hereby declare that whomever invented the French press method of brewing coffee should be nominated for sainthood. I am up much earlier than I wanted to be today, but just couldn't fall back asleep. Fortunately, I am not doing anything specific until this evening so I do have the option of a nap later.

It's been a crazy-busy week for me. Last night, tonight, and tomorrow afternoon are the 3 performances of the spring concert for my community chorus, so I was out late Weds for tech rehearsal, Thursday for dress rehearsal, and then last night for the performance. The title of our concert is "For the Love of It All" and we are singing some great songs. Mostly secular, but there are a few religious ones. We are singing a version of "Wondrous Love" that was tricky to learn but is so hauntingly beautiful that I'm glad we did it.

Sounds like some fun weekends on tap!

We're headed to CT again. DW has a cousin who lives fairly close to my parents, and said cousin is having her bridal shower tomorrow. So while my wife and daughter are going to that, I'll be getting together with my idiot friends and drinking beer. Should be a good time for everybody!

Morning, everyone! I slept in a little bit this morning since my softball double-header didn't end until around 10:00. By the time I got home, showered, had a snack and read a little bit, it was midnight. I was supposed to go shopping for a dress for a friend's wedding in a couple of weeks, but I jacked up my back during the first game of the double-header and I need to be in traction today. I'm listing to the right in the worst way. My stomach burning sensation is also back in a big way. I'm wondering if I have an ulcer.

Anyhow, the Ladies' Night crowd is having a pot-luck dinner tonight, and I'm making oatmeal bread to take with margarine and honey. I'm also making a recipe that my friend sent me for "speedakopia" which supposedly tastes like spanakopita but doesn't take as long because it uses jasmine rice instead of phyllo. I think I'll make a batch for myself for lunch and see if it's any good and then make another batch for the pot-luck if it is.

In the meantime, I think I'll recuperate on the couch and try to make progress on my friend's bib. I'm really slacking.

I should be cleaning right now. I am just not motivated. I started my class this week and adding one more thing to my schedule is stressing me out!! The class I am taking is online (not enough registered to hold the class at the campus by me) and I'm already having issues getting in touch with the professor. I will just have to call him on Monday and hope for the best!

Fun: hanging out with a bunch of potter friends I don't get to see nearly often enough.

Not Fun: only sold a couple pots today. It's completely a price-point issue. My stuff is priced appropriately for what it is, but at this venue people are willing to pay $10-$20, and I just don't have much in that range. I'll have to plan better for the August sale.

Fun: While at the sale today I got a call from the gallery in Indiana. They want a bunch of pots before the weekend.

I hope not. Ulcers are NO fun.

Are you making progress on your bib? I got a lot done on my current sweater at the sale today - more than half way through the body, and it's knit in the round.

Well, yesterday was pretty much total rest. I did a little on the bib (totally unmotivated to do it), watched some crappy TV, took a two hour nap, cooked a little, crawled around on the floor with toddlers, held three different babies, and ate some really good food. I have one more lecture to prep for the semester, and I need to submit an abstract for a conference in October, but I just want to lay on the couch and read or watch a movie or something that doesn't involve my brain. I need to do about four loads of laundry today (load #1 is in the washer), so maybe I'll make it an easy morning and then do some work later in the afternoon. We'll see.

Happy May Day!
