Do we want to open a new thread on a weekly basis as opposed to a daily thread? I think it's easier to follow everyone's comings and goings if you're not on for a day or two - then you can just follow the weekly thread instead of having to open 4 or 5 different dailies. Just a thought.

It's cold here - single digit temps. I've run in temps like that before and I know for some folks it's not even that big of a deal but for some reason it's just been more difficult for me this year.

On Saturday I did 12 miles on the treadmill! A personal record (previous record 7 miles). I'll probably hit the stupid thing for another 7 miles tonight.

Today is the first day of official Marathon training! 18 weeks till Bayshore!

55, maybe 60 if I can pull it off. I'm not starting with as much base as I would have liked. I was hoping to have 3 weeks of solid 40 MPW and it just hasn't happened. Weather has really gotten to me this year and on an average I've missed one workout per week since just before the holidays. I've only been hitting upper 20s, low 30s. I'll see how the first week goes, I'm slated for 33 this week.

Woke up with a sore throat and cough. Good thing its a DOR for me. After my 3:00 meeting I'm going home, drinking some Benidryl (sp?) and going to bed.
I want to kick it before it interferes with my runs.
You guys are all my heroes with your UBER running and I'm honored to be here with you all. Pete, good luck with your marathon training. I look forward to hearing about it. Same to Richard and your ultra training. And of course I have to mention Chris and his over the top UBER everything! You guys are the bomb dot com.
Do indoor workouts if you can for the next few days/week. Drink plenty of water when taking Mucinex because it drys you up, but it doesn't leave you wired like benadryl. All this from a hypochondriac.

Tech you are doing great with your running !!! What is UBER?

IncomPete: you are a pretty determined person so I am sure you will hit your 55-60 mile week. I just hit 40 for the first time... I can't even imagine 55-60. Not even sure I will go above 45-50 for my Ultra training at least this year.

Everybody get better!

Pronounced oober;
“Powerful,” most often used in reference to PCs or their abilities. From the German über, which translates to over, above, meta and super, depending on context.

No thread today??? Well, I went to bed when I got home from work yesterday, slept all evening and night. When I got up I still had a sore throat but I didn't have the hot and cold thing going on anymore. And today my appetite was better. So....I did go for my run...I took it really slow and dressed warm. I even walked a little at the end to be sure I didn't over do it. But I got 4 miles in and I feel good. Going to go to bed early today too.
Bought me some Mucinex DM....as recommended by RCL, Thanks!
Hope everyone had a great Tuesday.
