Butt tape and 4 miles. Completely zoned out and missed my turn around point. When I realized I had to turn around I was disappointed, cause I really would have liked to go longer.

Amazing the difference a good night makes. Got to talk to Kristy-in-Hawaii for 2 hours last night. While all our catching up wasn't about good stuff, it was still really good to talk to her. This is the friend I don't remember ever not knowing - her grandmother lives behind my parents, and we were born 6 months apart, so I really have known her all my life.

AND, after I talked to her, I got some great news, which I can't tell you about yet.

AND I actually slept all night.

Sounds like an intriguing day, Kath.

Hrmph, I missed my run last night. I worked late, and didn't have time before I had to pick up the kiddo. Oh well, a day of rest isn't a bad thing. I'll make sure I run a little tonight.

No, I haven't done Wash. yet. Seattle is still on the list. But that's not until June. Phoenix is in January. Plenty of time in between. In fact, if I do both, I'll almost certainly stick another one in between them. Hell, maybe put two in between them. We'll see...

Greetings, all.

There must be something aligning in the sky.... I too had a wonderful night of sleep. In fact, although it's normal for me to wake 2-3 times per night, I didn't wake until 3:30am this morning. WOW! Also, the meds the dr gave me yesterday are working fabulous. I hardly have any congestion, and the vertigo is GONE! Not just faded a little, like yesterday afternoon... gone. I'll keep on the meds for a few more days of course, but I cannot believe the difference. Last night i ate supper with much gusto, in fact! (Om nom nom nom!)

I am hopeful to run tonight. Even if it's just 2 or 3 miles.

Kath - so when DO we get to hear the good news? You know that putting a teaser out there is really mean, right? :)

Bob - Although you asked this a couple of days ago and I'm late in responding, I am still thinking about Seattle's R&R. I'm already committed to the trip for the HM in August though, and I've got to get a better look at finances to see if I can swing both so closely together.

hahaha... I spoke to soon.

Although I knew the meds were only controlling the vertigo issues, I didn't realize how much control there was. Instead of driving the taller CRV, I felt so good this morning that I hopped in the low-seating Civic this morning, and as I got an early start and was avoiding a lot of the school traffic, I was zipping around curves, accelerating fast, etc.

morning all. I actually slept well too last night! Well to be fair I also stacked wood for 2.5 hours.

Has anyone ever called it quits for a friend that keeps popping in and out of your life? I had to do it yesterday over facebook. I'm fine with it but another friend of ours thinks it's odd that I even mentioned anything at all.

KATH when do we get to hear the news???

MOE I'm still dying over your shoe display. I forwarded it on to a couple of friends and they've also forwarded it on and EVERYONE loves it.

So after working from home yesterday, I dropped DS#2 off and went for a run. There is a dirt road along the Housatonic river north of town that is great for running. Although there is some really bad mojo there too. I have run along there many times. It is beautiful this time of year with the leaves turning. However, I have always run there in the morning. Yesterday was the first time I have ever run there later in the day, and it was a completely different experience. First off, it was warm (in color) golden sunlight, but after about 1/2 mile I had no sun, because to the west was a ridge of big hills\small mountains. So the tree tops were bathed in blaring sun, and I was actually a little cold in the open shade. However, I ran this as an out-and-back, and on the way back, the river turns west, so I was running straight into this golden sun. It was pretty cool, in a way that I don't think non-runners, or at least non-outdoorsy people cannot understand. All in a brief 3 mile run.

This morning was a far less aesthetic 4.5 miles.

I've been absent. Sorry. Lots to catch up on, no time to do it well. With close to 30 more kids than I usually have on my rosters, I've been LOADED with school work this year. Ugh.

morning

today so far sucks. I had one of those can't get out of the doors kind of mornings. Forgetting everything, stuff being dropped, etc. Sigh. I am running late already & have to get gas. I decide to brighten my day with coffee. Grab 1 cup, broken lip. Grab 2nd cup, broken lip. Grap 3rd cup, less broken lip. Fill cup. Pay and start driving to work. Traffic is HORRIBLE and I have my cup in one side of the center console and my phone charging in the 2nd. I go to see how much charge I have and see that my phone is covered in coffee. "It might have been that slightly broken lip" I think. WRONG. I pick it up and coffee starts to spew from the bottom all over me. :( blah. I had to quickly grab some kleenex and stop it and get the hot coffee off of my dress pants (which by the way I didn't have to wear today but the mgr didn't send out the "we have casual tomorrow" email until after I left last night.

sigh

4 miles last night. Scavenger hunt tonight. The costume doesn't look as good as I had hoped but it'll work.

Morning, friends. I've been having a little trouble falling asleep, but not too bad. I woke up thirsty at 5:30 this morning, and then when the alarm went off at 6:00, I didn't feel like getting up. So, I'm sitting at my desk and feeling tired, but that may have more to do with what I need to accomplish today and not sleep or lack thereof.

My back is feeling better today than it did yesterday. I drove to STL and back on Monday evening to pick up a friend from the airport, and I couldn't believe how much it affected my back. I'm now SOOOO glad that I bailed on my conference a couple of weeks ago. I can't even imagine how much that would have hurt. So, I'm wearing a heel lift in my right shoe, sitting on an exercise ball in my office, and trying to stretch out on the floor a couple of times a day. I ordered a bolster for my knees which should arrive today, so hopefully that means I'll have an easier time falling asleep tonight. (Thanks for asking, Solar. I'm sorry to hear about your overload this year. You do know that public school teachers are the devil, right, and that we need fewer of them, not more? )

I want to hear Kath's news too!

Love and kisses to you all. I'm trying to psyche myself up for a completely boring day of reading things that need to be read but have been put off because they're boring. Joy!

Morning.

You know how you take time to get ready in the morning, actually do your hair and wear a jazzy scarf and heels and the first thing someone says to you at work is how tired you look? Yeah? Me too. WTF people?

I'll be back when the caffeine has improved my mood.

Happy birthday, Beaker!

I just realized I had my bra on inside out. Yes. So I had to go to the washroom and fix that.

QOD: What is the most embarrassing thing you've ever done? Probably not the most embarrassing, but I went to a meeting last week and started eating the free lunch they had and was about 10 minutes in before I realized I was at the wrong meeting. Oops! I thanked them for the free lunch and left as quietly as I could!

Hey Peeps,

I hope things turn around quickly, Brandy!

Great description of your run, Litch. Makes me really want to get back out there.

3.8 miles of walking last night on the TM in 91 minutes. I only quit because the ankle was getting a little fatigued and I didn't want to push it. I had a nice fire going in the wood stove and I was flipping back and forth between the Biggest Loser and a show about growing giant pumpkins on PBS. There was something very symmetrical about those two particular shows.

Fun: This weekend I'm going to Cub Scout camp with Tycho over at the Oregon coast. BB guns, archery, sleeping in a 3 sided cabin (brrrr!). Should be a lot of fun.

Happy birthday, Beaker!

Oof, I am going to be S O R E !!!! I did Tabata intervals in class this morning. Four minutes each (20 seconds on/10 seconds off) of burpees, squats holding a medicine ball overhead, dips, plank, jump lunges, ham curls, pushups, bicycles, lateral shuffles, side squats, and butterfly full sit-ups. Egad. I must, must, must do an easy run tonight to shake out the legs! Must! Someone help me with a good kick in the tookus later, OK?

Solar, thanks for asking. I'll answer on Gov's behalf, as he's in court all morning and then in prisons later. He has some back pain still but seems otherwise OK. His Jeep is another story. It should have been totalled, but the body shop has already done $12,000+ of work on it. It's STILL not done. (The accident was August 30.) Oh, and the police report does NOT say that the other losers ran a red light, which they did, and both of them have lawyered up and plan to sue him/us. Good times.
