Good morning! I'm surprised to be first to post in a daily thread.

I had a nice 2.25 mile run in gorgeous weather, then walked a mile and did a lengthy stretch. I headed into work feeling good. Unfortunately I'm going to have to work late tonight, but at least the day started out wonderfully.

Enjoy your day everyone.

Ronbo, beer is key for recovery. The better the beer, the faster the recovery.

Well, going to sleep at midnight does not make it feasible to get up in time to swim before work. PT tonight, so I'm going to give the AM swimming another shot tomorrow.

What a beautiful day down here in NJ/PA.

For me today, an early morning BRICK:

45 minutes on the trainer in the basement, watching the latest episode of "Jersey Shore"....I love that show. Then, I followed that up immediately with a 30 run. 3.83 miles in 30 minutes, good for a 7:49/mile pace. Did negative splits as I just wanted to get home and get in the shower.

Have a shiny, happy day everyone!

A thousand yards in the outdoor pool this morning, had the entire pool to myself. Very nice.

Hoping for a 4-mile run at lunchtime, but it's going to be a crazy day here at the office, so we'll see. May have to pick it up after work.

Forgive me for sticking my nose in on this one, but I believe that "DOR" is "Day Of Rest". A much ignored day of the training week by many a serious (and not so serious) triathlete.

I am paying for my repeatd mistaks now.

I am glad I bagged a run yesterday, and ran 5miles today instead. Felt much better although it is still recovering from all the abuse. Was thinking to ride easy later but I think I will be smart and not do any doubles until I am back to my normal energy level.

Run at lunch...took a wrong turn on a new route and added about 3/4 mile to the overall route. Felt ok until the last bit and my legs had had enough. Guess I'm not really recovered from this past weekend's ride.

Good afternoon, TEAM LIT!

DOR? Hah. DOR has been a funny joke for nearly 7 years (re: run streak).

Me...

Rare noon-time run for me. Got up early this morning in attempts to do a hill/speed workout but I felt extremely sick to the stomach, so at the end of the block I turned back for home and another hour of sleep. Wife has gone vegetarian again (she does it every few years for a year or two), and since she does all the cooking, I don't complain. She tried this, I think it is, meat substitute that is mushroom based but that tastes nothing like mushrooms. I think it's supposed to take the the flavor of things around it. Anyway, I support her and her efforts and morals, but sometimes my stomach is the one that pays, and this morning I felt so sick to the stomach that I felt ill and had little energy. Nothing sleep and a few potty stops couldn't heal. So I brought my run gear to work for a hill/speed workout. Which is fun to do once in a while because my body is nearly always very strong and powerful at the noon hour as compared to morning. So I had a tremendous workout with high power! So...

1:05 hour run hill/speed workout covering, maybe, 8 miles with 5 charges of a long gradual incline of roughly .85 miles:

o WU - 10:23

o 5 x Hill Charge w/brisk jog back down:

1) 4:56 / 6:23 (on / off)

2) 4:49 / 6:29

3) 4:44 / 6:35

4) 4:46 / 6:43

5) 4:45 / (back to work)

*Stayed very strong and consistent on charges but needed more recovery time on the jog back down. Solid workout!

Great day, Tri-peeps!

I tend to take a DOR every other day....

Hoping to get out for a 3-4 mile easy jog this afternoon since it's beautiful and looks like rain tomorrow.

Yesterday I decided to make up for a long run I had skipped over the weekend. Was planning on 6 miles, but at the turn around I decided to keep going and run up and over a mountain, and home from there. Not sure I ended up putting much more than 6 miles, but the hill was a fun break of my monotonous run route, and my legs aren't hurting badly at all today. It's nice to start to feel like I can run and run and run. So far still mostly on track with my half marathon training plan.

I love all the lingo around here!!

And yes, beer definitely speeds recovery (or at least that's what I tell myself).

With my LIT hat firmly in place, headed out for a 5m trail run. My ankles are definitely getting used to the terrain, and I had a fantastic time! Followed it with a leisurely walking of Bailey the Wonder Dog.

Light rain falling after work but went to the track anyway. It was actually soothing to run in the rain. Total of 6 miles including 2 x 1 mile at 10k pace followed by 6 x 200 at 5k pace.

Hey do you know what happens when you cut out ~500 calories of sugar from your diet? WITHDRAW. Wednesday was day 3 of 'detox' and combined with me not drinking enough WATER I thought I was going to die. Worst migraine ever. Made it through 45 minutes of intense warm-up in a 90 min dance class and bagged the rest. Figured I should drive home while I could still see.

Recovered and lesson learned.

Welcome Susan! Glad you are posting. The first non DOR for me today. 35-min run in the morning. Felt great and so much better mentally too. Hoping to continue my steak with a swim tomorrow.

Keep up the good work, Alicia - with more water of course!
