The weather is again not looking favorable for me running tonight after work.

I got some good pulling and back work in already though. Lately I've been feeling stuck on my progress towards the one arm chin up and thought maybe it was due some to how I'm not really at a beginner strength condition on those anymore, I might need to get smarter, more structured about how to progress with the build of strength. So I've decided to start using the 5x5 kind of plan. Monday morning, I did weighted pull ups with an extra 20 lbs on my back and my sets went 5, 5, 4, 4, 4. This morning I nailed 5 reps on every set. I'll see if I can repeat that on Friday and hopefully add some more poundage to them for next week. After I would do a pull up set, then I'd go and do deadlifts. Did a 5x5 of 128.6 lbs for those on Monday, didn't feel strained so I pushed up to 135 lbs. Again, no real troubles doing those, so I'll put some more weight on for Friday morning's 5x5.

Definitely a good back workout though, pull ups and deadlifts.

I ran last night...it was the.suck, but when I was done I was happy.

Side note: Penny knows when we're going for a run now. As soon as she sees me in running clothes, she gets excited, then she sits down like a good dog and let's me put her gentle walker harness on her.

Doubt I'll run today, but I have rehearsal, and I *think* it's a dance one.

Up at 4:30 to get 5 miles and some weights done at the gym. My vice principal just looked at me funny when I walked into work with my tupperware full of cereal and a small jar of milk What? I'm eating breakfast as the kids get off the busses...

Fitness club after school and then more miles...

morning all,

need coffee! I did 4.5 miles on the hotel treadmill last night. Did I mention that I don't like treadmills?

I am still catching up on sleep, so my plan to do 4 miles or crosstrain this morning are now in the toilet. That just means, I'll have to do it tonight which is fine.

I did 10 miles last night with 3 of the 25 laps (at the dome) at a faster pace. My average lap was 3:45 - 3:50. On my fast laps, I got to 3:25, 3:21 and 3:11. I then did some lunges.

6 recovery tonight

Another double again today...yikes, the next few weeks are kind of crazy.

15AM & 4PM

It's storming out right now and is supposed to keep going all day. I'm not sure if I can handle 19 miles on the 'mill in two separate sessions. Lightening is about the only thing that will keep me indoors and that is what today is all about. I hope I can find something good on TV.

Nice when you look back and see the progress, isn't it?

Dude - 9.1 on the TM would have me splattered on the back wall like a bug.

30 minutes of core work last night. Up at 4:30 this AM for salting and shoveling. We got about 4" then it turned to sleet\freezing rain\mixed crap. My plow guy came, but needed to salt the driveway, plus there are places he can not get to with a plow. Wet, heavy snow. After that, got changed in to dry clothes, and only had time for 3 on the TM before work. It was supposed to be an easy day anyway, but I had hoped for 5-6. Oh well.

mornin' all.

I was going to cross train last night as part of my "after trip I'm really motivated to get active with my fitness"......erm mojo. Well after work I just didn't want to do anything. I was tired from the weekend and playing in a basketball game just two hours after stepping out of the car.

SO... I got up early this morning and did my cross training for the first time, perhaps, this year.

I think I will adjust my schedule to get up a little earlier and knock out the cross training before work. Better that than dread doing it after work (feeling like it's something time consuming after work when I simply want to come home and crash). Thus if I can do this first thing in the morning the day is fresh and I'm not dreading it. I'll also feel better before work as well.

Not sure about after work tonight. Might play some basketball (not a game but some pick up games). Or I might, weather permitting, go for 2 at the park.

My decision over the weekend regarding running is thus:

Pacer wrote me a very nice 10k plan. I have obviously botched that badly. So what I am going to do is rebuild my base/foundation. Get my sea legs back under me so to speak. I'm going to run 2 to 3 miles each time out and a long run once a week if I feel up to it. I will do that for about a month until the time changes. Then I can go running after work with plenty of sunshine and not be rushed to get home and get ready for work (as is the current case with my morning running).

Well that is what is on me fitness mind this morning.

have a good one all.

isn't that feeling great!?

Tim - does anyone really like the treadmill over outside? View 'em as a necessary evil.

No run for me today. Off day.
