Good morning all.

10 miles on the canal path. A bit chilly out there - low 40s - had to break out the gloves, but my hands are pretty wimpy -- it does not take much to get them cold...

Hey Loopy - still around 60 here this morning I wore long sleeves and rolled them up. Easy 5 on the roads near my house, plans got switched up a bit as I had to drop DS#1 off for floor hockey.

Nice Loopy, sounds like running weather to me.

Good job getting the run in despite a change in plans Z.

Hope the tempo goes well BBS.

For e, first day back on the roads after my marathon. Still decently sore, so I kept it down to just four miles to loosen up. Busting the HRM back out, which is always embarrassing the first few runs. Case in point- 133 BPM for a pace of 10:43 per mile. (although 133 is awfully low for me, probably 40 beats below marathon pace.)

Loopy - My hands are like that too.

zrun - 60 sounds a whole lot better. Nice going.

BBS - Hope you had a good one.

MBH - Why the HR monitor after the M?

Kevin - Enjoy the rest.

Continued rest here. The cold hit me hard over night. Not going to chance anything till it's on it's way out.

Some lingering tightness in my quads and a few twinges in the ole bum ankle and my throat is telling me I'm getting something bad. As such, I decided to hold off running for 1 more day. Probably run to/from the gym tomorrow am. I'm now 99.9% sure I'll be running another marathon in November if I don't get a cold - a 10k on 10/24 will be the acid test. So much for never, ever again. For sure after this next one. Never, ever again

Loopy - my hands are the same... nice going on the 10

Dan - hope the cold eases up. Thanks for giving it to me.

Hawk - have run with m-pace

kfuller - enjoy the rest day

Mailbox - ease back into it. You really should workout more an improve that HRM to pace ratio

BBS - go get your speed on (not Speedos since I heard you only wear them June, July, August)

zrun - good to see you back out there. I bet you're not even sore after Sunday.

I got nuthin. Yesterday was a very draining day. Started with meeting with son2's guidance counselor, ended the school day with a P/T conference with son3's teachers. Then off to work. Afterwards, helped son3 with homework. Algebra at 10pm?! I think not!!! So when the alarm went off at 6am this morning to head to the fishbowl, I opted to sleep in and call it a rest day.

RUN- FAIL

Crap.. planned on one mile easy, then straight into 4 @ HM pace followed by another easy. My Shins locked up on me abou 1/2 mile in and never let up... I had to stop after the 1st HM paced mile and walk/stretch it out. I ended up starting back up, but my shins were still cramped up bad and calld it quits at 3 miles. Dont know why...? I ran Monday w/ no probs.... took yesterday off...? Hopefully It will clear up before my Long run Saturday.

Nice run this afternoon near work. After a mile warmup (8:39), I used the HRM hoping to find goal MP (7:15). For me, lat threshold is about 160-165. It's amazing how well the splits matched up -- 7:21, 7:09, 7:08, 7:10, 7:16, i.e., 7:13 average.

Cooled down with an 8:39 mile to finish up with 7 total.

I just might throw another log on the fire tonight...just 3 or so recovery miles to shake it out. Maybe, just maybe my hope of a late rally for NYC is coming together?

Yesterday's nighttime run went well. It was a little nerve wracking, because there were wet leaves all over the road, and I kept expecting to slip and splatter myself on the ground, but it didn't happen.

Tonight while mr jebba is making dinner, I will try to jump on the mill for an easy three. I'll probably watch some of the biggest loser on the computer while I do it.

I could stand to lose a couple myself. My waistbands are feeling a little tight. Grrr.
