Hello all,
Wednesday is our 3rd anniversary. I thought you might enjoy seeing this picture that hubby took of me this weekend with the dynamic duo (Truffle & Remy) in the Adirondacks.

Still no running for me but I'll be going to the gym in the morning and hope to find the "arm bike" for 30 mins.
That's a great pic of you Riley!

nice run ksrunr!

not sure i'll get in a run today either. much harder to fit this in when my DH is out of town. I'll bring my running stuff with me to work and if it's not raining at lunch time I'll get in a lunchtime run of about 4 miles. I'm in medford working today, so no access to my gym or a shower afterwards though, so running in the rain won't work for me today since I do have to be at work all day. This is day 4 of no running - not good for the tamster

on the bright side, I'm volunteering at my son's jog a thon tomorrow a.m. and then going for a run afterwards. Will just work in the afternoon for a few hrs. Then I'm off for a 4 day weekend, so will make up for lost mileage (and VRAA points!) then.

I ran 3.3, went outside, ran to the corner and decided I didn't want to be wet so up the ramp and around the back to the building treadmill.
Happy anniversary Susan! Very nice picture. I guess it's October.
Sure doesn't feel like it yet. I think this morning was the LAST speed session in the heat. Wonderful runnig weather is coming! At 5 am it was 70F and 90% humidity. Slugged through 4x1200m with 2 min jogs averaged 7:14. In total I ran 10.3 miles in 1:27:14 (8:28 overall pace) including WU with Tory and CD. My next run on Friday morning it will be in the 40's-50's. Can't wait

There will be aome major PR's in Hartford... right Pro?
Lab.. isn't running again, at any pace, exciting? Nice X-training!

I never heard about cops in Portland... hmm.. must have been a good time
details...

I can't see it either!
Those links look very odd.

But hey, this taper stuff works!

Great swim this AM. 2000yds. Lots of 150's.

The cool thing is, I did the whole workout breathing only every 4 strokes. Still brought the laps in at 60sec. Where did this extra energy come from? (I only had to dip into my breathe every 3 or 2 reserves to beat out Waterlily on the final 150 :^)

Hi hally!
Hi perch (ummmm, I dunno, PR is the goal...because any BQ will be a PR since my last BQ was literally my milliseconds.)

Never did quiet get my HR to VO2max level either --should I have kept going?
Mr. Hunter (we have our own names) was the one taking the pics. I'll post one of him another time, after I download all the pics etc. He's a sweetie pie, but he's into cycling, not running.
Riley - I was funnin ya with the Mr. Riley as I didn't know his name. What kind of bike does he ride? I ride an '05 trek and I picked up a softride and rebuilt it last summer. It's my avatar pic. It gets a lot of attention on the rides

Hello Hally and Tom (((hip))) and Tamsterina

JJJ - If you were trying to hit VO2; probably should have picked up pace till you got there regardless of # of intervals. .02 cents

Good workouts Perch and Pro

I guess I'll go do some work now.

Morning riley. Nice pics.
Tammy, I'll do my no-rain-dance for you so you can get that run in
ksrnrrrr, nice quick pace
hallywuss, what's a little rain?
perchcreek, nice HOT speedwork. Cops? Wonder if that has anything to do with the ink I can't seem to wash off my fingertips. Weird.
Hey, Pro - don't waste any of that extra energy!
Healing vibes coming tomwhite's hip's way (if that isn't too floozy)
JJJ, I don't know anything about VO2 max and still trying to get the pacing thing down myself, but if the effort is there, isn't that the important thing? Did I miss the cushaw report?

Sproink-filled 40 minutes, 8:20 type pace

The bod feels completely recovered from Sunday's race. Strangely, Friday night's footwear seems to have helped the ROM in my ankle too.

It's working Saucy! no rain, nice and cool, and a few streaks of this blue-ish stuff amongst the clouds. perfect for running. Hopefully, it'll hang on for another couple hrs for me.

A co-worker of mine walked the Portland marathon. They started out with one mile walk, one mile jog up until mile 17 when one of her walking partners started getting severe IT pain (she said she 'ripped' her IT band . . . . didn't want to negate her injury and tell my coworker that she didn't RIP it, just most likely strained it . . . .), so they walked the rest of the way. She said the boomer station wasn't there by the time they hit mile 21, but she did recall seeing the guys sitting on the couch. I described John's aid station attire to her and she said if she would have seen that she would have remembered for sure. I might have to show her the photographic evidence of who my running coach is . . . or maybe not? Anyways, she had so much fun (finished it in 6:36) and they are signing up for next year as soon as registration opens up and this time she is going to train to run most of it instead of walk most of it. And then another co-worker told me today that he is going to start running also (currently a biker) and once he can work himself up to being able to run for more than 10 min at a time, he would like to join me sometimes on lunch time runs. I'm just loving how a few co-workers here and there are getting into running! Maybe by the time Pear Blossom rolls around (April 0, I can get a group together for that.

I found the "arm bike" at the gym and did that for 20 mins. I think my shoulders might be sore tomorrow. After the gym, I had two meetings back to back and now another one just got scheduled for tonight at 8pm (had to cancel our anniversary dinner!). Sux being the boss sometimes. Sux getting injured. Sux getting older. all these meetings & work gets in the way of my real life!

BTW, all these meetings are about our new library which is under construction. In the meantime, we're temporarily located in an old tiny community center and I had to lay off half my staff. The neighborhood is "dodgy" and so far we've had the following vandalism incidents: kids set fire to the back of the building; kids go up on the roof and stomp holes in it; kids bashed the rat traps into tiny bits outside the back wall of the building; kids broke 3 windows throwing rocks; kids urinated into the book drop. I had to hire a security guard and get 24 hour video surveillance. Sometimes my job sux.

Susan, there is a guy at my gym who walks with crutches because his legs appear to be mostly useless who uses the arm bike. He's in great shape.
That didn't sound nice, but don't know how else to describe his disability.
He also makes it up the stairs to the weight room on those crutches.
Look at it this way, your arms will be in fantastic shape once your legs heal.

Yup, pictures on Sat thread (i think), but I forgit which board.

Wow, that was a fast recov. "Know thyself."

My pacing was more like 6:40-6:50 for 400m then drifting for 200, I'll figure it out eventually.

Not to be scientific or nuthin, but...

This is a great calculator of VO2max from race performance and tells you what your VO2max pace should be. That's the pace that running harder ain't gonna give you more oxygen!

http://runningforfitness.org/calc/vo...bmit=Calculate

This is also about 90-100% of Max HR
Also probably your 5K pace on a good day.

Happy anniversary Riley (ya hippie)

Got up at 2:45AM to take my wife to the airport as she has a business trip in Chicago. Then went to the gym to kill time before the courthouse opens. Did 45 minutes of weights and a 6 mile progressive TM run ending with a millbot fast finish™. There's a whole different group of people at the gym at 5AM than at mid day, which is when I usually go.

Team "F" really sucks and is now in last place in the VRAA. If not for millbot, we'd be lower than last place.

It's not even noon here and i'm ready to call it a day plus I'm in a foul mood after dealing with that airport security bull$h!t. Does anybody really think travelling without toothpaste and having grandma (who can barely stand up anyway) remove her shoes makes us safer?

I may not be one of yooz, but there's a certain something-something about geeks. (Whaaa ... no geek swoon icon on Kick?)

Ya think one of these days this stuff might rub off on me??? No, didn't think so either.

I'll bookmark it anyway. Thanks, Steve.

Ooooh, easy, Johnny. I missed some Quality Time with you this weekend (you are one Hot Panky). Guess we'll just have to do H2C again, eh?

Hey Johnny, as of today, we are in next-to-last place. We still suck, but we suck less.

As your online coach™ and Team F compadre, I might suggest that you use that anger to fuel some extra running, but you don't want to overdo it coming off your marathon. So instead, I'm going to recommend some some retail therapy. You could augment your Pank Fairie ensemble with a nice hippie shirt.

You know John, if I had an ignition source, I think I could modify the calcium pyrophosphate in toothpaste (the tartar control agent) to be an explosive. I'm just sayin'...

As for grandma, an indignity like that is just hard to accept.

I have to take my pickup in for service today, after which I hope I'll have time to go to the track and do a little three mile run. I'm sticking to soft surfaces for awhile while I begin my comeback. Around, and around, and around...snooze.
