Just kicking back on the couch waiting until it is time to leave for the airport. Would have already been on my way but Joe's flight was delayed out of LAX which pushed his arrival time back by 45 min. I adjusted my alarm clock accordingly (he texted me this info before departure and the text alert woke me up) but still ended up awake before I strictly needed to be. Ah well.

Our fun today is going back to sleep for awhile, running some errands, making food for tommorrow's dinner, and then giving ourselves a proper date and going to see the Christmas lights display at the zoo if the rain holds off (otherwise we will go Friday).

You Canadians are nuts. I don't know why you don't all move south for the Winter. I recently mentioned my cousin who lives in Fort McMurray. He actually does that -- he spends about a month every year in Hawaii. I'm not really sure how he affords to do it, but somehow he does. Anyway, is it possible to go running outside when it's -40 and there are 3 feet of snow on the ground?

Morning all.

the car's packed up and all I have to do is drive down to pick up my parents kitty and I can hit the road after work.

So here's the last call for the Christmas card list. I will be emailing/ facebooking it out on Sunday! I'm going to send out last years list too just in case anyone wants the original list. There are very few people that pm'ed me their addresses this year so it's going to be a short list?

It's possible to run in -40 weather, I did it....once...when I was young and stupid...now I'm just old and stupid. :D If your cousin works in Ft Mac, then he makes a ton of cash...it's all about the oil. If you're not into the party lifestyle I could see him putting away a lot of money. I used to really enjoy winter...embraced all the winter sports, but as I get older, I'm not enjoying it as much as I used to...got room on your couch? :D

1) Dude. I didn't get to sleep until after 2am, and Dh's Aunt stopped by to pick up some stuff around 7 and the dogs went apeshit. Feels like my brain is ripping in half. Just not at all enough sleep the last 4 days.

2) YAY!!!! This makes me smile.

So Torque....how is it possible to wear enough clothing to stay warm in -40?

Dropping pots at the gallery this morning. And at Maggies. And shipping some. And finishing my soup. And testing the moulds I made yesterday. Actually, I might do that first.

morning peeps.

Incredibly windy here today, and colder than it's been. Sunny though. And nothing like the weather Torque is having!

I wore jeans to work today...no one here's ever seen me in pants. Heh.

Have I mentioned how much I dislike Thanksgiving? Meh. Least favorite holiday by far. It just makes me depressed.

Kath - Lots of layers. The good thing is that it's a dry cold so the layering helps. I wouldn't want to experience the same temperature when it's humid. I took some pictures of a juice jug and cups that my neighbour threw, they look like penguins.

Holy carp Torque! I am so not ready for weather like that yet. It was 20 this morning when I ran and I kept thinking how pleasant it is compared to what is coming. Gah, I hope we have a relatively mild winter this year.

I've seen this before. Imagine this being written today, with all these references to God. People would go nuts.

It's been close to three weeks since my son left home. I haven't heard from him at all, except when he asked where his orthodontist's office was. I know my daughter is taking it quite hard even though she tries to be brave about it. Today I checked his Facebook page..although I'm blocked from it I can still view his profile picture...ugh...it's a picture of him laughing with three bottles of hard alcohol in the fore front. I guess this week is unofficially "Son's Week" and with it came something to post as your status on Facebook. I copied it and put it in my update and then I sent it to him as a message. To tell you the truth, I was in tears last night...the first time regarding this. Anyway, here's the Facebook blurp:

Your son will hold your hand for a little while, but will hold your heart
for a lifetime. It's "Son's Week". If you have a son that holds your
heart, whose smile can light up your day, and who makes your life better
(and wilder) just because he's in it
