Good morning all.

I decided to take a rest day today -- my knee is bothering me a bit and I have a race tomorrow...

Tomorrow afternoon is the "Turkey Trot" here at work -- that very short, very steep uphill/downhill race. It is always a ton of fun and I am getting excited. Here is the elevation again:

Morning all,

Loopy - good vibes to your knee, that looks like a fun one!

Jill - Nice 5, that cooler weather is still on the way!

BBS - have a good 9

I did 40 minutes rowing yesterday after work after geting my back worked over at PT in the morning. Slept in today, hopefully will do yoga tonight.

Morning...

Loopy - Wow, you've got a weird idea of fun Good luck with the race

Jill - Nice early run. Hope it cools off for ya.

BBS - Have a good niner. When's your race?

zrun - Have fun with the cross training.

Day 4 feeling achy and tired. Feel like I'm backsliding. Going to the doc today though I'm not expecting anything earth shattering from her. FRUSTRATED!

loopy--that is just nuts!!!

Jill--nice 5er

BBS--um, is that shooting running or hunting? btw, bet you'll think this is pretty cool- a friend of mine was in a really bad accident over 2yrs ago and still doesn't have full use of his left arm (can't lift anything heavier than a soda can). Super bummed that he's not been able to hunt. A friend at his church found someplace that specializes in hunters with special needs. He's going deer hunting this season!!!

zrun--"enjoy" the PT

Dan--hang in there!!!

Super easy little trot this morning. Nope, still don't have my legs back. Ended up taking the short cut back home. I'm pretty much where I expected to be. Had hoped to knock out a HM on 12/5, but we'll see.

Loopy - good luck in the pre turkey day turkey trot.

Dan - bummer. Get better. NOW!

zrun - rowing and PT. Fun times

Jill - nice going on the hot (>32F) 5'er.

BBS - enjoy the easier run

4boysmom - I'm sure you'll find your legs soon.

No idea what I'm doing today. My old track club has it's last outdoor workout (6*800), which I'm tempted to go to. However; it's tough to get to on time. Probably won't happen.

Hey all, quick fly-by before our company Thanksgiving lunch starts. Oh and then later tonight I have a dinner meeting with my professional association. Anyone want to take a whack at the over/under on today's calorie count?

In between lots of work and meetings, so no run today either. But I'll have lots of fuel in the tank for tomorrow.

Apple - re your late post last night...so glad you represented for trails and open space like that. Big kudos from me.

loopy - good luck with a race that surely no turkey would ever dare to trot

Jill - nice easy 5...I see a tornado building that is likely to hit Philly around 7am Sunday. ;)

zrun - enjoy the yoga. Checking out some available class times around here is on my to-do list. When I will actually get to it is anyone's guess.

Dan - hope you get some answers. This has gone on long enough!

4bm - give it a few more days before deciding on the HM. I don't know what recovery from a 60 mile walk is like but I would guess it's pretty similar to a marathon recovery phase, maybe shorter though since you were walking rather than running.

RA - have fun at the track. And I am highly familiar with that frantic rush from the office to make the weekly track workout...at least half the time I'm late and end up doing the reps on my own anyway.

NIce job getting after it today. Looks like some good running, resting etc...

I got in another 5 miles in 42:33(8:30). I threw in a last mile of 7:05. Then I was suppose to have a dentist appointment for teeth cleaning. Had to take my Daughter to preschool. My son had his first teeth cleaning and seemed o.k. with it.

Happy Wednesday :)

Jill - too warm?? I hope you are not wishing for more wind too?? I am enjoying the last of the warm temps before the cold season. Last night was a windy wet rainy run but I am glad to say stuck with it & finished. It wasn't raining when I started so I took the pup. At about mile two it started to rain hard and the pup gave me a look of not sure she wanted be outside but we both finished and got in 4 miles.

Thanks for the kudos Hawk. Is there a spread on the bet of calarie count?

Just a couple interesting numbers to start:

Open Space adds 16.3 billion to real estate value, annually generates $240 mm in tax dollars, saves $37 mm in natural flood mitigation services.,

Trails add $577 mm in accrued health benefits to residents who use the trail & 09' on average 41% of moderate physical exercise is performed in park/trails.

I didn't even mention the business income form sales/jobs/etc.

We bankers always like our numbers :)

Today is an off day but maybe I can convince myself of Jill's theory that early morning is the best and shoot for Thursday's 4m run in the am. That's my goal anyway.

Dan - Hang in there

Well, it feels cooler although it's only 2 degrees warmer since this morning but this wind is crazy! Went from 5 mph (6am) to 17 mph (currently.) I hope we don't have wind in Philly, that is the only thing that would totally mess with my plans.

Yeah...wind can be real party crasher on marathon day. I don't want to blame the winds we had in NYC for my less than ideal performance, but in truth they probably were a factor (though certainly not the only one).

No point worrying about what you can't control. Just be confident and run your race. Damn the torpedos, or something like that.
