Yeah, yeah, TEAM LIT!

Busy so right to it for me...

6 mile tempo-ish run early this morning in a down pouring rain. Put on Green Day and Blink on the iPod and pounded out an up-paced run. Engine still not flowing all that fluidly since Stone Cat 50 but was still able to rip off a fairly fast time on a set route. I suspect my legs will come back around in a week or two. About what I expected after a busy fall racing season.

8 mile run in 1:02 / 7:49pace as 8:47, 8:07, 7:54, 7:38, 7:26, 7:20, 7:10, 8:08 cool down. Just trying to knock 10seconds off each mile or so. Something to do other than a boring straight run.

60 minutes on the computrainer later, another power workout.

Masters swim tonight. 400 m benchmark in the main set. I think 400s are my least favorite distance...too long to go all out and short enough to think you should! I'm tired just thinking about it.

Jealous, Jen! Would love to get out with Eli for a walk and enjoy this beautiful (though windy) fall day, but I'm sick my nose is so plugged up, the netti pot can't break through. Afrin is the only thing that works but I have to save it for nighttime when I'm desparate since it can "dry up" breast milk. The crockpot has been on all day cooking enchilada chili and I can't smell a thing! I did get a 2300-yard swim in this morning. I think the chlorine made my nose worse. Oh well, at least Eli is breathing more clearly for now.

Beth - hope you feel better soon!

A little over 6 miles including 2x1200m at 7:40pace. I guess what is what I am shooing for the half this Sunday. The last 'fast'ish run. I am taking less taper than normal this time. Just for experiment based on the pretty strong half (PR) last Oct without taper at all. I can tell - I really *REALLY* need to focus on not running too fast at the beginning. 'This is too slow' is the feedback I need to receive for the first miles. For just once, I want to run right at or slower than the target pace at the beginning. Damn it.

Well, I am in Arizona and the weather is awesome. Yesterday was kind of a wash with regard to training, just not enough time to do too much after I arrived. I played golf with my father and by the time we were done I wasn't able to get into the pool (swim team practice).

Today, I was up and awake by 4:30AM. I ended heading out for a 45 minute run around 6:00AM, which went pretty well. Around 12:00PM I got in a 3,300m swim at the outdoor pool which was awesome. I've spent the rest of the day thus far watching "Avatar", justrelaxing befor dinner.

Hope everyone is having a stellar day. Four days and counting!

Just enjoy the last few days and relax - all the work is in the bank so its all fun from here;-)

Missed swimming the last 2 days due to kids routines being shifted round - but had 2 hrs of "touch" rugby this evening - if its "touch" why do I ache so much - As it was wet and muddy I am now thinking that wearing a white rugby shirt was not such a good idea - bloody muppet

should get to the pool in the morning which will work out all the aches that are kicking in now

Benchmark swim last night which included an all out 50 m as well as a 400. Times were 39.5 s for the 50 and 6:39 for the 400. I'll take it but really felt like there is plenty room for improvement, especially in the 400.
