Should be a nice easy day at school with no finals today and a super light practice. I really hope I can sneak in a nap after that before I get started on some end-of-the-year projects due soon.

Only 2 more days...

7 miles in 60 min on the treadmill this morning-varied incline a little but pretty boring. Also .75 mile swim-getting ready for a couple of sprint tris-never done one before! Have a great day everyone

just finished my run and wondering how the heck I'll get a comb through this hair!!!!!!! My ponytail is a fuzz ball . I ran on the 'mill to avoid the humidity factor. Concerned about my lack of fluid intake, but only 1-2# weight loss, so the salt helped...tummy a little yuck though

I ran 14.5 easy miles this morning in a steady drizzle. The legs were a bit fatigued at various points along the way, but overall a fairly decent workout.

Fox-runr - I will have to start doing salt on mornings like this.

5 mile lunch run - just like morning, but 15 degrees warmer and sunny - stiiiiiiicky! Saving grace was a little more breeze.

Mike are you running barefoot or what? I have never had the sweat soak through my shoes and leave prints.

wow, I think today is going to be ANOTHER forced/unplanned rest day

I am up to my googles in work/mommyhood.

Unfortunately, this entire week will be a washout as far as fitness.
If I get in two runs and one lifting session, I'll be happy.
~not~

Alex---you probably don't have to change your clothes during a workout either!!! Some people really sweat....I think it has to do with the name Mike or something. When I lived in TX, my friend sweat so much that his shoes squeaked. The first time I heard it, I asked if he ran through a puddle, but no, his sweat ran down his leg into his shoes.

Flounder--it's probably 10 degrees cooler on this side of town. Last night I was going to run at the high school while the kiddos swam, but I went home and decided to deal with lake flies over heat It's the first time that I can remember going to weather.com and the "feels like" is higher than actual. It's usually the other way around. I think the salt works well on humid days. If you're sweating off more than 5#, you could probably do well by them.......take with lots of water.

Usually during any time from now through September by the end of my run I drip sweat. I don't really notice it until I get in my house and realize that I leave a trail and if I turn my head to fast arcs fly off. Mom doesn't like that.

Super easy practice for me...8 striders up and down the football field, progressing up the first 50 and then sprint the rest.

Nothing tomorrow except playing lots of Guitar Hero II in the hotel room.

5.x miles at lunch in 2 PTIs. (A PTI is a podcast of Pardon the Interruption).

2.2 lbs of sweat lost. I know this because I finally bought a scale this weekend as my mood has turned serious and I'm going to drop 15 lbs. this summer to see what kind of difference it makes in my running.

Plus, I might be able to land a role in The Machinist II.

Ugh. Rough day for me.

I went up the trail after work today. Minor problem, I forgot the CamelBak today. So I had to use hand-carried bottles (2 20oz.). Since I was doing a repeat on the miles 3-7, I was able to stash the bottles at around the mile 4 marker (which is also the mile 6 marker, the mile 8 marker and the mile 10 marker).

To make matters worse, I have a very sore throat that I have been fighting in all day. Every time I swallow it hurts like hell.

Not a great day for me, but I got thru it. I guess that's what matters.

Daily Run Report

Date: 05/30/2007 Time: 15:30
Run Type: Just A Run
Distance: 14.0 miles
Total time: 02:35:53.6 Average Per Mile: 00:10:45.8
Course: OTHER COURSE
Max HR (for entire workout): 179
Average HR: 152
Shoes: Mizuno Wave Ascend 2 - 05/2007 Date Entered Service: 05/08/2007 Ending Mileage: 76.0
Weather: Sunny. A real struggle tonight. First I have a sore throat that I am hoping is not strep throat. Second, I forgot my CamelBak today so I had to use handheld bottles.

Since I had to use handheld bottles, and since the course is an out and back, and since I was repeating miles 3 to 7, I stashed the bottles just after the mile 4 marker.

I stopped each time I passed the stashed bottles to get a drink, and one time had a GU. I did not take this time off, and probably added up to at least 1 full minute.

The last 3 miles were pure hell. Thank heavens they are mainly flat.

Run Segments
Kruss- that's pretty exciting. Do you have a specific tri in mind? I'm not a very good bike rider or swimmer. It would take a heroic effort for me to do a tri.

5 miles on the 'mill, 51:36. Even though I wasn't outside, I sweated like a champ. Sunshine said, 'Mommy, are you stinky?" when she saw me afterward.

I'm doing the Danskin Tri in Sept and possible another one in July at the Jersey shore but I haven't officially signed up for that one yet. I've heard the Danskin is a great beginner tri. Everyone is very supportive, they have "angels" in the water to help you in case of trouble, and it's all women. Not very competitive but just what I need Oh and I'm a terrible swimmer and biker but I decided to do this because it supports breast cancer research which is a cause that is very important to me.
