I'll start today.....no running for me due to ambulance duty/work. Later tonight I'll do some spinning at home. DH has a nice bike and he set up a workout room in our basement.

Right now my purse is locked into the bunk room at the ambulance corps and I'm waiting for a person to come and remove the lock....what a way to start the day. All my cash is in there and I'm just dying for a cup of coffee! Of course I have a meeting that starts in 30 mins too.

Good morning, Susan (and everyone else).

I'm sitting here drinking my coffee, hoping you get to your purse soon!

I did 30 mins of hip and core exercises this morning. Will try to get in another 30 mins after school today. No running today...tomorrow I may just run in the snow for the first time of the season. We'll see what the weather brings!

Have a great day, all.

I figured it was old news for most of y'all but it was new to me yesterday. What do you think of it? Are you wanting to fight me, too? Cause, if'n you are... watch out... I fight dirty.

Morning troops, we just might get a flurry of incoming homeless next week.

3.2 miles for me, 29 feels like 20. I love it this cold. I am going to do 2 sets of (real) pushups now before my shower. Then off to work.

Too slippery outside for safe run, so did 2 miles on the indoor track before the dryness and stuffiness was too much. Went downstairs and did 2.1 on a treadmill, which was a lot more pleasant since it was cooler and they had some fans going.

I'm actually starting to enjoy TM running (as long as I have enough to listen to on my MP3 player), which might be a bad sign. Next run will definitely have to be outside!

Welcome also to the other CR transferees, Erika and Dave and the others. You'll find that some CR folks are here under new pseudonyms, so watch out what you say. Hint: choovie is actually choover from CR -- who'd have figured that out? There's also some guy named Quintus CassadAAmius who seems familiar, but I haven't figured out his true identity yet.

I always want to say "Good Morning Boomers"

Plenty o' weather going on all over.

Has the rain slowed at all in the PNW?

We saw just a light sprinkle here last night, with more supposedly on the way for the weekend (just in time for my trail race .... woohoo!)

I did 5 today with the first 2 trying to chase down Mrs hup and her running partner.

I'm stressing over my shoe choice for the trail race. My trail shoes are pretty long in tooth, and my road shoes are useless on the trail. The roadies are far more comfortable and I don't relish the thought of 15 miles in the trail kicks, but for the sake of traction I'm going with the Montrails. Send anti injury/incident vibe please. Am I rambling?

choovie, I was wondering about your missing club runner too.

Nice runs, ks, rcg, hally, roch, hup.

The track is snowy and icy, so I did my interval workout on the road. Can you tell where the hills were? I'm not going to give the answer in case Econo wants to guess.

rcg: i won't be complaining about my achilles anytime soon after watching that girl finish. though i gotta wonder what she'll think about it 20-30 years down the line... pretty high price to pay. (btw, i've spent some time in the mud wrestling pit, i doubt you fight dirtier than i do... )

ksrunr: you're not going goofy on us now, are you? just the marathon at disney, right? (nice finish today)

it must be winter... running laundry is piling up faster, since i have to wear two shirts to stay warm every morning. brrrr.

erika: don't laugh, but the coldest i've ever been running was in this downhill half marathon in tucson 4 years ago. mid-30's, slight headwind, underdressed. after 6 miles i couldn't feel my quads, and after 11 my vision was blurry. couldn't see, just hammered; actually it's still my pr at just under 1:20. i've run in colder weather, but just something about the conditions and effort that day really messed up my vision. 30 min later i was fine, and haven't experienced it again since.

McSolar - just the marathon as I want to run a quality race. If the marathon was the first day and the 1/2 the next I'd go goofy on somebody's .....

My son says when he is bicycle racing and hammering like you described he often gets "tunnel vision". All is black and blurry around the edges and clear where he is focused. It clears up shortly after the race is over. You must a been hammering goot!

Hup, I don't think you were rambling, for what it's worth. I don't know about Montrail shoes because my trail shoes are Saucony, but I would venture a guess that you should go with the trail shoes. I'm surprised they're not as comfy because of the extra cushioning, unless your roadies are more cushy. I've been lucky-none of my trail runs have been muddy. Good vibes, dude.

In case you missed it last night, here's my injury/comeback situation. The right shin/ankle tendonitis is completely healed, so I wasn't favoring the left side, but now the left shin has been tightening up after about a mile the last couple of days. I've got a call into the doc but he's not at the sports injury office today so it'll take a while to hear back. Any thoughts? So, men, I'll be joining the XT team tonight for a rowing session. The last I saw the wimmin were saying how they would kick our butts.

Here's a video of an ad that was pulled from Italian TV due to the objections of a church official. It seems that Mary needs a post-partum pick-me-up from a fourth wise man: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X3bRFIinbwg. Some people just have no sense of humor.

Morning all, thought I'd check in as I'll be away from the computer most of the day. Am driving down to the HS track in an hour or so for intervals, doesn't look like it's going to be as warm as yesterday. The usual fog we get the 2nd day after the rain stops is here already.

Funny video, roch

Wear the montrails, hup, mine seem to last forever.

ETA sorry millbot, I'll be rooting for rosie in this on going smackdown, but only because of the colors involved

I was obviously able to keep my name. I'll probably end up here full time- as soon as they get that running log up. Seems like a nice place.

Some funny graphics this morning. Thanks for the chuckle.

Millbot and Ksrunr - club member still missing I frequently run near the spot where his truck was found and I still stop and look along the river just in case. So sad.

Rose, is that Gilda Radner's picture in your avatar? It's so tiny but sure looks like her. I miss her humor.

Good running everyone. The ladies are kicking ass on the XT challenge. You boys better get moving!

My schedule is a bit messed up due to my running friend having a root canal today. Oh, the nerve of her! So I had to run alone and managed 3 untimed miles in frosty conditions. My legs never did get warm and it seemed like more work than it should've been.

Queen Bossy X-Trainer checking in.

Nice to start the day with a good tune.
Ilene, have you had that hip looked at? It may be fixed quickly with some PT and rehab exercises. Don't want to see it go on too long and become a chronic problem.
Opie, try walking on your heels till you can't (fatigue) before your next run and see if that helps.
Well done, mill. And Mustang Sally's last night breakthrough awesome possum run too. (hugh oatmeal-stuck-in-right-bicuspid toothy grin)
I'm a tad worried about all the aggression being shown here, whut with the guns last night and duking it out this morning. Let the love in, Masters!
Morning, Marie. Tried that cereal yet?

Ramblin' Hup, can you spot the salmon? (Speaking of which, the bald eagles are LOUD lately, so I'm going down to the creek today to see if the miraculous salmon run is on).

Souci, Ilene doesn't want to go to a DR because they might tell her she can't run. So she will continue to run with her sore hip until she CAN'T RUN AT ALL!!!

Is that your town? Last picture you had a bunch of snow

I can't watch youtube at work, not only that now they have taken away our ability to stream music so no more Pandora. wwaaaaaaaaaaaaa
