10 miles w/ 5 @ tempo (goal = 7:20, actual = 7:22, 22, 26, 18, 11)

This was my best tempo run in a while, even though I stayed up late goofing off in IRC. Hmm.

Millbot, where is everybody? Hello...hello...anyone else out there?

Nothing for me this morning. Nada. I slept until 10 minutes to 7! I've been feeling really tired the past couple days and have had a headache. I hope this passes soon - I plan to run tomorrow.

Have a good day, everyone. Wherever you are.

billmot - 'bout time you got this thread started. I've been waiting. (tapping foot) - nice tempo run. you'd make a good running partner down here in tx. Come on down here. If not; you need to slack off for a while.

And to think you were worried about your run today. I did you a favor by keeping you up so late.

I have a chat hangover.

Trying to call work to tell them I won't be in but NO ONE will answer their phones. Frustrating!

[edited to add: finally got through to work -- they were having a fire drill.]

Yoga. Done. Getting less hopelessly awkward, but boy, do I have a lot to learn. The experience was significantly enhanced by a new top that fits closer to the body, thereby leaving me decent when standing on my head. Swimming later.

ksrunr, I know I could learn a lot from you, if I could keep up with you. Maybe if it was my hard day and your easy day...

I'm eagerly watching all your workouts, trying to get mine through osmosis. I'll let millbot do my running for me today.

Still trying to patch up my weird butt/back spasm. Trying not to panic that it will affect my running.

Sal, I like hearing about your yoga experiences. I hope you stick with it.

We did something different last night in class to help those struggling with chatarunga. I wish a teacher would've done this back when I was learning how to do them and building the necessary strength. He strapped our arms together just above the elbow so we couldn't turn our elbows out when lowering into the pushup position. The strap kept our elbows aligned tightly against the sides of our body as we lowered slowly down to hovering just above the floor. The nice part was that you could actually support the weight of your chest across the strap that was stretched between elbows, making the move much easier but still giving one the feel for proper positioning. It's hard to explain but it was effective as a teaching tool. Sorry, long story...

Nice workout millbot. ksrunr....these 2-a-day workouts are making the rest of us look bad. Sally.....does anybody really look "decent" standing on their head? Hippo....hope the rest is doing the trick since 100 miles is a long way to drag one leg. Doable I guess, but a long way nonetheless. Hally.....some nice pics from the Hartford drink-a-thon. Looked like some people were running too.

Raining pretty good again today. We sure some nice soaking rain and I might just take another rest day in celebration.

Had a great morning. I didn't have to be in work until 3pm so I slept late, rolled over and there was DH grinning at me! Unbeknownst to me, he had called in for a mental health day so we had a nice morning together. Then got the radical haircut (it looks like Katie Holmes' haircut, I ended up getting about 6-7 inches of hair chopped off); went to the gym and had a tough but good workout of 10 mins arm bike, 45 mins elliptical, 20 bench presses and lots of stretching. Now I'm into my office and preparing for my Board meeting tonight. I think DH will like my hair. I myself will like it better when I have a chance to style it the way that I prefer, rather than the "helmet head" type of style they do at the salon. I much prefer it to be messier and looser and sexier.

Very quiet day here at the Library; almost no patrons inside. It looks like the heavens are going to open any minute and of course I forgot my umbrella. The good news is that the rain will make my hair wavy like crazy (thus messier, looser, & sexier). JJJ, you should stick with your bandana and skip the radical haircut; the bandana & beard makes you look like a badass and you know how women love them bad boyz!
