Usually I wait for someone else to start off the KR Daily thread ... you runners seem to sleep in more than the runners over at RA ... but I'm going to kick this one off because the odds are good that I was up and out before everyone.

4:30 AM ... Unseasonably warm and humid. The AC is going strong as are the sweat glands.

12 miles with 8 repetitions of 4 minutes at moderate pace, with 2 minutes recovery between. 9 minute/mile overall pace. 1:48 and change.

I've been treating "moderate pace" as tempo pace (between 7:44 and 8:00 for me). I hope that's the right pace for them. The repeats were run at 8:02, 7:54, 7:59, 7:52, 7:52, 7:54, 7:49, and 7:44. Right on, but hard near the end.

Strange. I don't feel any stronger coming off the Relay weekend ...

Bill

PS: I'm on VRAA Team E with Choovie, Jura, Holly, Millbot, and Joplus! Woohoo!

After the storms last night, it was IRC (50F) this morning but lots of little branches on the road to plow through. Unlike Breeger, I'm feeling WEAKER after the weekend Relays. Just taking it easy this week ..until Sunday's 23 miler . Ran 13.2 miles of hills at a Pfitzinger style progression from 9:30 pace knocking it down about 10 sec every 2 miles and ended at 8:20's. AHR was 150, right on target. My back/sides are still sore from what ever I did to it in Arizona . Oh.. took Tory for the first 6.6 miles

Have great runs... run like MCSolar!

Morning Folks,

Send that weather my way will ya? 37 degrees and heavy rain this morning. At least the traffic was light. 7 miles, 59:15 (8:28 pace overall) was all I could muster. I could feel the effects of yesterday's hard run, and my shoes weighed an extra pound they got so waterlogged.

Now I'm off to the dermatologist to find out what this spot is all about...

Happy running all,
Well, we had another 5" of snow in this record-setting year that I had to blow out of the driveway before I could get into the rec center. Did 1.7 easy miles on the treadmill. Definitely making good recovery progress.

Still wading through that wonderful relay report. It does make me regret that I'll never be able to do anything like that, having come a bit late to this sport. But I am still glad that at least 12 of my virtual friends had such a good time!

Severe storms here overnight, we were lucky where I am but there are a lot of Lipa customers without power today. I opted to stay out of the wind and after 1 mile gave up the TM for the elliptical.

VRAA teams are up!! Gotta check that out when I get to work!

Good Morning.

Nice runs Peter, Breger, IRMike & Roch.

Hope that spot is nothing Mike.

Was planning on 6 miles on the TM at a medium pace, but my body would not listen so I had to slow the pace down after 2 miles and just did 5 miles. That was a struggle. Some are easy, some not so easy - but all are good!

I ran for 5 miles last night. The dark of the evening seemed oddly bright after running in the middle of the night in the desert with only a headlamp and the bright stars to light the way.

Silly me posted this morning on yesterday's thread. To recap, it's warm, rainy and windy here in NY today, and I'm not running b/c it's my ambulance day.

I saw that Pink & MS and I are all on VRAA7 Team H! This is gonna be good!

My mammo last week showed something that wasn't there last year, so this afternoon I have a breast ultrasound scheduled. Keep your fingers & paws crossed for me please. It's probably nothing -- the same thing happened a couple of years ago and I had to undergo a biopsy which showed "normal fibrous breast tissue" and a lot of worrying, all for nothing.

Hey masters.

Teammate Bill, you really ought not accuse the KR masters women of sleeping in. I speak from experience here.

Mike, good luck with the spot. I hope it's just a tattoo you forgot about.

Good news, Roch!

Good luck, Susan.

tomwhite, did you have to type "nippy" very carefully?

Rest day here. I'm getting my slacking in now before the VRAA starts.

Edit: Erika is today's POTD! I can't wait for all the juicy details!

Morning all. Some nice runs already this morning. Another rest day for me.
Have been assigned to vraa team "G". Tom and his wheezing dog. Great mental picture Here is a photo of team "Corpus Christi Road Runners" veterans team (50+) who compete in the Texas Independence Relay this past weekend. I'm in the orange cap.

Dang, "Tom and his wheezing dog" is a good name for a VRAA team -- I guess that's where I'll put my cheerleading efforts.

4 miles or so on the track with The Administrators.

I actually contemplated getting out of bed this a.m. when I first woke up at 5 a.m. to not only check to see if VRAA teams were up, but to maybe start a daily for once! Maybe tomorrow a.m. I'll crawl out of bed early.

I'm excited to be on VRAA Team C with Masters: JJJ, Mustang Mom and Winefunky (this started out as a typo but i thought it was cute so didn't correct it). There are some fun additions this round of VRAA and I'm really looking forward to it. Plus, since I peak in my training for a few of the wks in March, I'm glad to be contributing more than rounds past.

I won't be able to run today, leaving work at 2 p.m. so I can be home when DS gets home from school. My husband left for a week in So Cal and he's usually the stay at home dad (runs his business from home), so I had to rearrange my work schedule a bit this week. And then DS has his final basketball game tonight. So, I'll use today as a core workout, stretching, stability ball exercises day.

I'm a G! I'm a G!

Planning either a 2 or 3 mile easy, "recovery-jog-paced" run at lunch today, or an easy paced 5 miler. I am mentoring a new runner here in my office. Our "Corporate Challenge" 3.5 mile race is just 10 weeks away, and she is currently running 2 miles, as weather allows. If the rain and cold deter her today, I'll do the 5 easy on my own. Hoping that my shoes are finally dry from doing a poor imitation of a Coast Guard cutter yesterday.

Irunmike and Riley - good for you. Let us know.

No run yet, just checked in to say hello to fellow Team E members! This is my first VRAA so I am very excited about it!
Riley, I am rooting for you, hope it turns out just like it did in the past, as normal tissue. Good luck. Will do some x-training shortly.
Hey, you experienced relay people: How long before I get "Hotel California" off the brain?

I may be forced to go learn to play that opening riff on my guitar. It sounds hard.

Nice easy nooner booked. Will report back later.

DH just had a look at the Ragnar photos and caught MC's avatar. "Oh, Jeez. I didn't need to see that."
