Good morning, TEAM!

Very excited to see my high school best friend later today. He lives in North Carolina, just over the border from SC and about a 1:15 hour drive. We didn't think we'd be able to connect while I was down in Myrtle Beach visiting my favorite FIL, as he was stationed in Afghanistan (Airforce, flies planes, drops bombs, etc) for the last 3 months but got diverted to Libya. But he came through last minute, so later today we'll get to see each other. Haven't seen him since my wedding and then many, many years before that. We grew up together, played more ball (soccer) on the same field than any other. We were nominated "Best Friends" in high school. We were that close. So very excited to see him. His wife and I get along awesome too -- and she likes good beer :). Will be fun. He'll show us around town.

Yoshi: Funny because I am in SC too, only on the other side of the state. Too bad we aren't close enough to hook up. Would have met you this morning for a run. Then again, I'm still hobbling something fierce due to seized calf, so it would have been a slow slog for you.

3+ miles early this morning with the Ironmate. Calf still stiff and discolored. Stretching and walking.

Thor - sounds like a great get together with your friend! I didn't know you were in the middle of 'tour' - it would have been cool to run/walk together in a warmer south (for both of us).

Another busy day with one thing after another including flying back home. Tired. And also I have been very bloated for the last few days from water retention, with puffy extremities, puffy eyes, etc. Not sure what is going on with my body. Anyway I was able to squeeze in a speedwork in the evening. Was planning to do 3x1.5mile at 7:40pace, but the H.S. track I ran to after dropping off DS at his martial arts class was being used (Urg!), and I think I ran the first 1.5mi way too fast in spite of still-not-recovered dead legs, so.... not an effective workout. Ended up 1.5mile, 2x1mile (7:17/7:33) with pretty long recovery jog between. Oh well. 6miles done. Having another 8 hrs+ sleep.
