On this day in 1979, Isreali-Egyptian peace agreement is signed.
"In a ceremony at the White House, Egyptian President Anwar el-Sadat and Israeli Prime Minister Menachem Begin sign a historic peace agreement, ending three decades of hostilities between Egypt and Israel and establishing diplomatic and commercial ties." http://www.history.com/this-day-in-h...rticle&id=4865

I'll start the thread early with the idea of a workout planned later today. Can I do that? It's the only way I'll beat you early birds!

After work, 30 mile bike ride (easy because my knees are taking Bannon's knees' advice) followed by Ultimate Frisbee. First games since the fall. Can't wait to play around like a kid again.

Happy hump day - and peace be with you!

We were on vacation last week and I was um, extremely lazy. Didn't work out a single time while we were away, although I took my swimming and running gear. I did get to read 3 books last week, which was nice. Although the beak was nice, it feels good to be back in my workout routine, even though it means I'm back at work.

Ever since breaking the 1:20 barrier on my 100's a couple of months ago, I've been trying like mad to hit 1:15 - this morning my fastest was 1:16....if I could just squeek out 1 bleeping second faster!

5-ish mile run later this afternoon or evening, depending on how work goes.

Easy day today 4 miles in the early morning, but it was already 35 degrees! Woohoo! No hat, no gloves, legs felt good from the get-go. Stars were spread out all over the inky sky...gorgeous. Now I have a very long day ahead, with a work-related dinner before I get to go home, but this morning was great!

Just curious, what's your 100 PR when you are going flat out, or do you know? When I say flat out, I mean not as part of an interval set, because there is a big difference between that pace and your interval pace. You'll break 1:15, no doubt in my mind. Just don't get too caught up in the numbers and it will come to you easier than if you are really trying for it.

Great start to the morning, folks.

x: I'm like you in the water doing intervals (but not nearly as fast)... I miss-count all the time... with interval numbers and even the interval itself.

Beth: I was waiting to hear that -- that Ultimate was starting up. Spring is in the air! Not here just yet, but it will be soon.

Me...

5 mile tempo run early this damp morning. Not as cold as normal. Sleepy first mile. Woke up on a big hill and buried it from there. Pace strong up and down rollers.
Followed immediately by...

60 lap swim:
o WU - bunch o' laps
o 100, 200, 300, 400, 300, 200, 100, 100 - counted right for a change.
Averaged 52-53 seconds per 50 on all intervals. Tried to stay consistent with that. I'm slow. My already crappy form went to hell toward the end. Still, very productive.

Peace-out, friends!

You know, I've never actually tried it - mostly because I do whatever workout the coach sets up, and for 100's it always involves interval sets, and I've never swam in a master's meet where I was officially timed. I should just take a sufficient rest after a workout and do one - it would be interesting to see what happens....

Except I wish it was the bike or run that that I was fast in...on my first tri I buzzed right through the swim passed several people in the waves ahead of me, but they all caught up quickly on the bike and run

Morning, Tri Peeps!

I did 2300 yards this morning with a few sprints and some arms-only (mostly because my knee was hurting, but I guess I can also say I was building arm strength and improving form). Not a great swim, but it's over.

The short version: Today is an unplanned rest day.

I meant to get up at 4:30 to be at the pool by 5:30am... I slept through the alarm and woke up at 6:45 very exhausted and very late to get the kids/me out the door.
I think I've over done it the past few days and my body didn't want me to get up at 4:30 again. We are leaving for vacation Friday right after school and I've been trying to get workouts in - on top of having an extremely busy week at work. I've decided just to go with the flow and do what I need to do work/home wise to be able to have a fun vacation and not be totally exhausted by the time we arrive at our destination.
