Mornin' TW and KS!!!!

Bet you're going to have a ball tomorrow, TW! Stop fretting.

Nice weekday 13, KS..... again! What is it you're currently training for?

With this training schedule I have, Wednesdays are going to be my get-up-silly-early-drive-to-work-and-run-in-the-dark days. 5.3 miles through the neighbourhood side streets in 50 minutes, with a couple of pauses to wait for traffic lights. Got to enjoy a gloriously rosy sunrise!

When I got back to the gym, I stripped off all the outdoor gear, dropped it on the bench in the change room and went for a good long stretch. Had to laugh when I got back in the change room.... that bench was an interesting and graphic illustration of how complex we can make a very simple sport. There lined up for almost the full length of the bench were my: Buff, head lamp, tail light, iPod, ankle reflector bands, wrist reflector band, Garmin, RoadID, neoprene belt, cell phone, gloves, jacket. No wonder I take forever to get dressed to go out!

Happy Hump Day, everyone!

Heme - I'm training for OKC May 1st

I thought you were going to say when you came back you found some of your stuff missing. We would never dream of leaving our gear unattended around here.

Morning masters.

Got in very late last night after going to Indianapolis to watch Lebron and the Heat. The four hours over goes much quicker than the four hours back.

Yesterdays run that was supposed to be a medium effort somehow turned into me bonking at 50 minutes and having to cut the pace back to finish my hour.

I think it involved dehydration, a fast treadmill, an overly humid Anytime Fitness, and my bodies dislike of running early in the morning. I did get in 7.46 miles in 60:00 at 3% incline. Elevation gain of 1,180 ft.

The plan for today is about the same mileage but at an easier effort.

Howdy Masters! I ran around the neighborhood by the high school last night with the running club. We got shut out of the track, 'cause the girl's soccer team made the CIF finals. :)

Went to the hospital to visit my mom afterwards.

good morning!

Winter returned to Oregon. Lots of rain the last couple days and snow overnight. Not enough to create any fun though, just enough to make it wet and sloppy. The sun is trying to come out now and I hope that is the case by lunchtime because I need/want to run today. I have a HM on Saturday that I'm feeling quite underprepped for.

I did get registered for Grandma's Marathon yesterday and I found lodging about 20 miles away. I couldn't believe how crazy expensive hotels were in Duluth. Even an Econolodge was 199.00/night! We got a nice big suite at a casino 20 miles out of town for 81/night. It'll comfortably accomodate the 5 of us that will be there, plus they have fun stuff there for my son - large pool, arcade, etc.

Heme, just yesterday DS commented how long it takes me to get my running gear on.

Rip, those elevation numbers always amaze me.

Relax about the half, Tammy. Deep breaths. That is crazy about Duluth but I haven't been there in a long, long time. Had a great summer or two there as a kid, some of my best memories learning about birch bark and northern pike.

7 miles easy planned after work and I can't wait!

Tammy, Econolodge=ewwwwwwwwwwwww. Stayed in one and won't stay in one again and certainly not for that price! Who else is going with you?

Enjoy the heat wave, Hally. Even warmer down here, in a singlet again. 7 miles as planned, on the grass where I could find it, really slow at the beginning so I ended up @10:13 avg.

We're mileage twins today, Opie. This is pretty huge for me, since it's the first run I've had in about three weeks that didn't feel herky-jerky and pained. 7 miles in 1:07:11, the first and slowest mile at 9:50, and the last and fastest mile at 9:20. Just the way I like it.

Opie, the incline is doing a great job as my knees haven't hurt at all. I am hoping running up hill all the time gets me in a little better shape also. Because my avg pace is slower than it would be on level, I am doing some faster stuff to get the turnover. I bounced back today with a strong 7.76 miles with a fast finish the last couple minutes. 1,225 ft elevation gain. I still consider this crosstraining and wouldn't be surprised if it takes me 3 or 4 weeks to get used to running outside. When I went from 12% incline to flat, my legs were sore for a week.
