Good morning, TEAM LIT!

All: thanks for the comments on my Cranmore Hill Climb race report in yesterday's daily bread thread. Much appreciated. Cool pictures! Love that stuff. And the views from way up top are so cool because you know that you powered your way up the mountain to get those.

4 mile easy, slow run early this morning. Hammy not too happy, and back sore. All good.

45 minute run with the hubster this a.m. who is now out of work but got up to run with me anyway. What a guy!

Swim in the pool this afternoon. 2200 planned with 3 100 test sets to see where I am.

May do some strength work tonight since I had dinner with some friends last night rather than exercise. All good though. Good friends are enriching and make life better.

Dance tonight - I promise! Last chance to dance before going on vacation so I NEED to get in the studio. Looking forward to heading north, but not looking forward to cramming myself into a car for 1000 miles...

Hope you heal up quickly Thor!! The pictures in your RR really were awesome.

Didn't post yesterday - did a quickie 15-mile ride last night. Felt good, average speed is creeping up. Still slow, but I know it will take time.

Today...4 mile pushing of the otters - part the local "trail" (access road), then around the lake and by the fire station. Got a thumbs up from a woman in a car, and a "nice job" from a youngin' in the middle of a pack of kids from the local high school track or cross country team who flew by us on the trail. Totally made my day.

DOR for me....

Last night's 5k just didn't feel the love with me.

Too many downhills that aggravated my quad and IT band.

So, the knee is getting better.....slowly.

But, it seems that the quad is now complaining.

I have a call in to my doc to be sure that something wild isn't happening, and

to see if this is just a normal part of the recovery process.

So, Rabbit and I hit my neighborhood (comparatively flatter) to get the miles in.

We were noticeably slower, but managed to hit the 5/1 interval.

gah!

I feel like this is 2 steps forward, 1 step back in so many ways.

I'm ready for this to be FIXED>

Only 17 weeks till MCM, and while many people have said "you'll be fine....."

it's sooooooo iffy in my head. I've already deferred once, too.

So, if I end up not being able to run, I'm out the entry fee (no huge thing in the grand scheme of things)

BUT it means that I would have to seriously consider trying to register for it again.

Am I just going off the deep end here?

ab work followed by weght training and then ice hockey. great skate, lot of movement, worse part was leaving the rink and not being able to see due to glasses fogging up. Also notlooking forward to opening up the car this evening at home as it will not smell real good.

Hit my big trainer goal again last night, that's two in a row. One more and I will be convinced that I really have it in hand. -fingers crossed for tomorrow-

40 minute super easy ride tonight since my hamstring was feeling ok. I had to get out on the road because it was such a beautiful evening and I'm tired of playing it safe on the trainer inside. I didn't break any speed records or tackle any of the local challenging hills but I was out there and it felt ok.

Alicia - have a safe trip to your home town! Are you going to be at the Cherry Festival races? DS is planning to run 5K and DH 15K. DD and I can be found at a cafe on the main street :)

Jen - your post made me smile. Way to go Mommy!

Reg - sounds like another beautiful ride. I am jealous.

Yesterday I tried to run to DS's BB game, a mere 3miles and ended up walking toward the end. 1.2mile OWS went ok during a day today. Then attempted to run again later, and gave up after 2miles of super slow run. The only thing I could think of causing this is blood donation 5 days ago. Last year, the same thing happpened, not immediately after the donations but for a few days after. Though, this time this fatigue is lasint longer. A google search seems to indicate a blood donation shouldn't affect you for this long (as long as you are not working very hard, i.e. Vo2 max type workout). I know everybody is different...and being at the lowest weight requirement for donation, it may be taking me longer to replenish red blood cell and all. What is your experience with blood donation? Though it is just for fun, I have a race on Sunday....

Yoshiko - I'll just miss you! I'm doing the Ryan Shay run on the 4th at home and then we'll be in East Lansing on the 9th. Enjoy the Cherry Fest! I love MI in the summer.
