Sounds like a nice run, Brandy. Good job.

Yesterday was a slow day, eh? Nobody posted in the entire afternoon? Where was everyone?

I did an easy 3 miles in the park for the second day in a row. I plan on something a little more strenuous tonight. The extended forecast for my HM on Sunday doesn't look too bad. There'll be "scattered T-storms" every day between now and then, but Sunday will be mostly sunny with a high of 81. That's not terrible for an early Summer day...

Morning!

Brandy muggy is no good! Still looks like a great workout to me!!

Bob hope that forecast holds for you!

Managed 4 on the TM last night, while Aiden watched Cars and acted out every scene with his cars (and reminded me a zillion times we don't have Guido!!) I am pretty shocked at how my running is going right now (knock on wood), I could have kept going but since I am still super slow, didn't want to take more time away from actual interaction with the kiddo. I was so happy he let me run while he watched the movie, I was beat and knew if I had to wait till he went to bed it wouldn't happen!

I am so excited to be back in this thread :)

Leg circuit with J last night:

Side Squat (8 slow, 4 with pulse, 8 fast) each leg, alternating

Curtsy lunge (8 slow, 4 with pulse, 8 fast) each leg, alternating

30 seconds "ski jumps"

Repeat for six sets.

Elliptical before and walking on the track after.

I missed my workout this morning, so I'll have to rework the schedule later today. Abs and a run if all goes well!

Nice workouts, people!!!! Awesome, awesome, awesome. Brandy, your goal marathon pace is 8:45? NOICE!

I had a rather interesting bike ride last night. Details in my blog (link below), but I'll warn you... it's longwinded, just like me. Here's the abridged version: flying beer cans and lost on back roads and state troopers looking for me, OH MY!

update: Thiea is a brave (and wicked schmart) chica! :)

Hrm: I must be out of my ever-loving mind. I have the Grand Rapids half scheduled on 10/16, and I'm considering signing up for the Silver Comet HM here in the Atlanta area just thirteen days later. This is the course that last year I swore I'd never return to... out and back, mostly downhill out, and the last few miles crushed me last year, because I enjoyed the downhill section too much. Also, they completely ran out of water and most food supplies at the end last year. (though water seemed to be in ample supply on the course). Yet... something tells me that i can run smarter this year, and surely they'll have the water issue figured out this time around.

Afternoon all! I had a doc. appt this morning that called for a fast from dinner last night, didn't think it the best time to do my hill repeats w/out being able to re-fuel immediately after wards. And so hill repeats and about 9 mi on tap for this muggy eve.

5 for me this morning.

It rained on and off while I ran a bunch of errands after work. At one intersection I was first in line at the light, and saw a cyclist coming from my right, make a right turn from the cross street and his bike went out from under him and he skidded across 2 lanes. Traffic was all stopped in all directions, so he didn't have to worry about cars coming at him, but man.... he has got to have some pretty nasty road rash on his right side. The guy in the turn lane facing me opened his truck door, and I had my hand on my door handle to get out and check on the guy, but the he popped right back up and got back on his bike and road away.

That had to have hurt.

I did 6.7 hilly miles this evening. Not too hot, but it was humid. And it started to rain about halfway thru the run. Nothing bad...

Hey Maria, I found this report I wroteup when I did the Fairfield Half Marathon 5 years ago. I think it was only the second time I Bobcammed a race. I had a couple marathons under my belt, but this was my first HM. I was still pretty new at the running thing. But if you want to read a little about the course, this is what I got...

Manged to get the core circuit done, but not the run. Tomorrow is yoga, so I should be able to run before that. If I get myself to bed now, that is!
