Morning, everyone.

Up very early today -- everything's just a bit off. Good pool workout yesterday, and got out for an 8-mile greenbelt run, too. Today, I'll hit the bike trainer for an hour, and do some weights if there's time.

Good ones to all.

Nice job on the wet/dry work yesterday.

Fishbowl for me this morning. I was doing more stroke work under the coach's watchful eye. So not much distance covered (800y or so) but the technical work was much needed especially after the Xmas week layoff.

Another job interview later today and it's a biggie. I have a feeling if I nail this one that I could be working there soon. When I get back, perhaps an afternoon run is in order.

Chances- great news about the niece

Hawk- Good luck w/ the interview. Be sure to ask if they will give you enough lunch break to get a 10 miler in

5 mile speed session on the schedule today, w/ 2x [email protected] 6:47 w/ 800 recoveries. Seems kinda easy, but I'll take it today. Struggling to get back on 3rd shift schedule plus DW has a bad ear infection, so I've been getting up early at night to deal with the kiddos, then run her errands during the day. May have to take her to the Dr. later this afternoon.

BIKERS- I was talking w/ a friend of mine who is a biker in VA beach, and told him I was thinking about getting a hybrid- he said don't do it, get a Cyclocross bike instead. I've been looking at them and they do look pretty cool. Any Pros Cons out there?

chances--nice job with the swim/run. "Enjoy" the drainer.

Hawk--smart to focus on form in the fishbowl.

BBS--not a clue on the bike. I've always had road bikes. The kids have mountain bikes. On occasion I've taken one down the bike path in the snow. Perhaps check out a couple bike shops and see what they have to say.

Fishbowl this morning. Just not happening. Bagged it at 1000. Still tons to do at home getting the house back in shape after being gone last week. As much as I enjoyed it, I'm starting to think it just isn't worth it to get away.

BBS - LOL you are spot on about the job requirements. Re: the bike, I'd say get the hybrid if you want to do both on & off road riding with it. I have a hybrid (Trek 7.3) and use it that way. But for longer road rides I use a road bike (Litespeed Tuscany). I don't know about that other thingy, never heard of it.

Good morning everyone. Nothing yet for me today. Now that the holidays are over it is back to afternoon running. It should be another 5 miles for me. It looks like about 3-4 weeks of base miles and then training starts for the year.

Nice job on all of the workout so far today.

Some good work out there today, folks.

I'm impressed with how many of you swim. Every once in awhile I think of signing up for a few lessons at the Y in order to improve my swimming. I still can't get the hang of turning my head to the side to breath. I always have to pop my head out of the water.

Managed to get out of court in time for an elusive lunch run. 6 miles. When I got back, my package of babywipes had dried out, and there was no soap in the dispenser in the bathroom! Hope I'm not too steenky. Eep.

Good afternoon everyone.

I got in a nice 5 miles @ 8:38 Pace. I started at a 9 minute pace and everything got better from there. It is like spring time weather outside. Nearly 50* in January is crazy.

Well I missed out on the PM run - no big deal as speedwork awaits tomorrow - but I think I nailed the interview. I was definitely on message today. Two more this week, one each tomorrow & Friday, then I think the end game begins. All in all a good day. :)

Ha! Fortunately no court in the afternoon. I was able to lock myself in the office.
