Good morning all!

The first morning I have been able to get to a computer early. 5 mile run this morning with the last 3 at a 6:35 pace. My pace is beginning to come around again.

Happy training everyone.

David--good to see you again. Yah, I'd say your pace is coming around. That's wicked fast!

loopy--bit slippy???

Long run for me this mornign. We had a "wintery mix" overnight. Roads were a sheet of ice. At least the edge had sleet which was run-able. Back and forth on a 2m stretch of road for a total of 11.78m, 1:50, 9:23pace. Bit slower than I'd like, but I"ll take it.

Dave- Nice Job, thats a great pace

Loopy- Hope you didn't get too dizzy going around in circles

Mom- thats not a bad pace considering the conditions

Busy day today. We get to find out if the baby is gonna be a boy or girl (doe/buck)!

Gonna get in an easy 3 before we leave. Yesterdays 600s killed me. I'm sure the hold over at work had a little bit to do w/ it... but I think I may back down on my easy runs this week, from 5s to 3s just to be safe. I did jump into 5K training pretty fast.

8 miles on the TM. Woohoo! I'm re-listening to Born to Run on my iPod to pass the time. Currently at the section on the Leadville 100. Pity that it'd didn't help with the noxious farts coming from the hippie on the TM next to me.

Loopy & 4boysmom - "Born Slippy" by Underworld just popped into my head

Dave - nice job on the up tempo run.

BBS - have a good recovery run. Baby girl.

MTA: I forgot to mention that our cat decided to puke on my new running shoes this morning. She is now down to 8 lives and has a whole lot of bad karma coming her way (especially when DD is old enough to catch her).

Asics--just took a listen. "Born Slippy" isn't exactly my kind of music. Actually, I had Matt Redman's "You Never Let Go" rattling 'round my brain this morning. And what is about pests puking?! Yesterday my collie dog took a big drink, went to the front door and puked all over the floor. Okay, so the fresh dog food wasn't too bad, but there was a turd in there too! Good think 18yrs of being a mom has given me an iron stomach!

Morning all,

It's actually a little bit warmer out today...hopefully that will melt some the ice around here. Our driveway is still a rink. I ended up sacrificing my 2nd run of the day last night so I could sand the driveway, it was that bad.

Intervals are on tap today...not sure what workout yet, I need to check the club website to see what the planned Wednesday track session is and then I will mimic it on the gym TM.

Dave - that's pretty good pacing all right.

loopy/4bm - good job making do with the conditions. Reminds of my 20 miler last winter after 2 ft of snow...I did the 5 mile loop of my neighborhood 4 times.

BBS - have a good 3 and best of luck finding out whether the young addition will someday have antlers or not.

RA - when I first saw "Born to Run" I thought of the Boss, then I remembered the book. Did you run barefoot? Inspired by the book or the cat?

Good morning everyone. I went outside this morning and it was pouring, so inside I went to get dressed for the gym. 5 miles in 42:33. 1/2 mile at 7:30 pace and then a 1/4 mile rest and then another 1/4 mile at 7:30 pace. It was tough but I am slowly working the speed back in. Have a great morning everyone.

Intervals at the gym done earlier. Club workout plan called for 5 x 1000 today but I decided to go for 6 reps. 200 recovery jogs after each. Took them all at 9.0 mph (6:40 pace). Mile warmup, ~1200 cooldown. Calves still a little sore but they actually felt better as the workout went on.

I ran inside because this was a "track" workout and I don't have easy access to a track at work. But boy it's warm outside right now (50). I could have run outside with short sleeves! Oh well, tomorrow it will be cold again, possibly snowing Friday.

I first read it last year or so. This is the 2nd time around. I like the book. It's entertaining, comical in parts and, although it didn't make we want to go barefoot running (or in a pair of sandals), it did make me think about my running form a bit more.

Hello all !!

I did my TM yesterday and today I am still in the office trying to finish up so I don't think anything will happen today. I may venture outside tomorrow in the AM to see what the roads are like.

RA - you aren't biased for girls are you??!

BBS - No matter what the gender I am guessing it will be a avid hunter? Good luck with the dr. visit.

HAWK - it was really warm and I wanted so bad to cut work and run but not an option today.

Hi everyone. DD was home sick today. Took her to the doc and found out she has strep. We read books, watched Barbie's Mermaid Adventure, and generally lolled around. I did one streak continuing mile. I managed to call the doc, call the elementary school, and call in sick to work, but forgot to call the aftercare program. They called me in a panic at 3pm b/c they couldn't find DD. I sheepishly told them she was sitting right next to me.
