Good morning everyone.

I had a great run this morning. I did 10 x 1/4 mile intervals with 1/4 mile recovery @ 7.2mph. The first 6 were @ 9.0mph, 7th @ 9.5; 8th @ 10; 9th @ 10.5; & 10th @ 10.6. I set the TM at 1* incline and just went with the flow. I did get worried on the last two that I was going to shoot right off the back of the TM.

Hope everyone has a great run today.

Buenos Dias! I hope everyone is doing well and didn't have to shovel too much snow this morning (for those of us on the East Coast). I have some news to report....I do NOT have a hernia! With that said, they don't know what it is and I have to go see a sports orthopedic doc next. This is a slight issue because I still haven't decided how I am going to handle my health care situation (being unemployed with no benefits...I checked, my company screwed me). I my just put it off until February 1st when I can get on my wife's plan.

On the job front, I got a call from the "opportunity" I am waiting on and it seems like there is one bit of paperwork that is holding everything up. Hopefully it will get the proper approvals by the end of the week and I can start soon.

As for exercise, since I don't have a hernia and I don't have any pain riding on my trainer, I am going to head to the basement and put in 45 minutes to an hour in a minute (once I get off of here). I hope I don't pass out from all of the physical exertion after my week-plus lay-off. **UPDATE** - One hour on the treadmilll was successful!

Have a great day everyone!

3+ mile romp through deep snow. Strapped on my MICROspikes for a near striding-freely run. I highly recommned them over all other options. Wanted to go longer but was a bit beat up from yesterday's hill repeats and full body workout.

We finally got snow last night... only a few inches. But then it started raining early this morning and now it's just a wet sloppy slushy mess out there. Ick!

It's been 4 months since I've been in the pool and I suppose there really is no time like the present. So this afternoon I'll work on technique and just getting back into it.

Snow day for me! Yay! Nice to have bonus day home in the middle of the week with the family. 10 inches of snow and it is still coming down strong. This also means I have time to fit in 2 workouts later on: strength training followed by a tm run.

Snowpocalypse turned into Snow-what? for us. Just got back from an easy 8 in the rain. Wind changed from cold east to warm south. When I turned south at the airport, I felt this huge waft of warm air and I kept looking for the jet idling on the runway. Took me a while to realize it was the actual wind.

As I was happily stretching my calves in my driveway listening to my iPod, the neighbor we never talk to came running out of her house with her phone asking if she needed to call 911. Huh?

NEerners, enjoy your snow day and shoveling!

Julie - I was shown how to use the snowblower once and I concluded it was too complicated machinery for me to handle effectively. So I just...put my kids (and friends if they are visiting ) to work.

2500m swim. I will see how this swim intervals would work for my Wed recovery day in a long term. This may become the first day of not running in 10 days. Well, I may hit TM for an easy 3miler.

@miles - Hope the job news works out and hopefully the med news will continue to get better

Needed more recovery from the wisdom tooth extraction, but I did the following workout on the TM

WU: 15 minutes, 12 x 2min e/m/h intervals @ 7% grade, 2min rest inbetween, then 5 minutes easy, then 10 x :30s fast / :30s rest, ran to 80 minutes. My e/m/h were .5 to 1.7mph slower than I typically run them, just hard to move, probably the pain medication. I was happy with the result though. Hopefully tomorrow will be better.

After a week of babysitting my friend's twins off and on, we're finally back to the normal number of children in the house...so in the jogger they went!

Did 5 miles around the neighborhood letting the little otters decide which way to go (made for an interesting route). Had a distraction around mile 3.5 when we encountered a lost doggie, and fortunately we were only about 1/2 mile from our vet. So took the dog in, it was chipped (can I do my PSA for microchipping dogs now?), and we left shortly after they reached the owner, who was out looking for the dog. Happy to know the dog will return to her home.

I find it funny that we manage to find all the lost dogs while we're on stroller runs. And grateful that jogging strollers come with "leashes."

miles - stay on top of that healthcare issue. if you didn't get let go until Jan, they have to pay. You may have to engage a lawyer, or threaten, but do not go without health care especially since you know you have issues. good luck

me, AM run, 4.5miles on the track due to snow, Aerobic test, looks like 12:15 is my new z2 test pace.

PM masters, 2600 because the kids team was still in the pool for the first half hour and apparently we broke 3 lanes last week so.... 25 and get out. 25 and get out. for a half hour. ick. Aerobic pacing there 1:39 or so. I'll take it.

Another ice day kept me away from the dance studio and on the treadmill. 2 more easy miles. Two runs this week (albeit short)?! Madness.
