My fun today is not having to study any more math! wOOt! :)

And looking forward to a REAL day off tomorrow.

And it's sunny and super-nice here today (high in the low 70's) which is fun.

That might be it for now. Who else?

Yah Ann! So happy for you!

Not fun: No breakfast for me yet. It'll be yogurt and granola in maybe 20 minutes, but my co-worker just came back with breakfast from Waffle House. The scent of bacon is sooooo good, and hearing her crunchcrunchcrunch on it is torture! :)

Morning Ann. I betyou're looking forward to relaxing for a bit.

We had another 3 inches of snow last night and temps are -13 at the moment...-21 tomorrow. Busy, busy at work when inclement weather hits. I pretty much fall into bed by the end of the day.

Looking forward to tonight, no commitments = early to bed. :D

Some of you have inquired as to what is going on with my son, so I'll give you a Readers Digest version. He's been seeing a girl who lives with her 21-year-old brother. Mother lives in Texas, father lives in England. So after having had a taste of what it's like to have no parental units involved with your life, he was looking for a reason to leave home. Word has it he is telling people he was kicked out which isn't true, our last words to him was that he was to be home at 10:00 that evening he left, but I guess it lends to more street credibility to being kicked out.

Having reported as a missing person would have the police drag him home if they come aros him, but that's pointless seeing that it would add fuel to the fire and he'd just leave again. As of now, he seems to be attending (somewhat) school and, as winter stated, showing some responsibility with his questioning to where his orthodontist is.

So, we don't know where he is but he seems to be welcome where ever it is. It's just a waiting game now.

I'm sorry to hear that, Torque. Best of luck to all of you.

The not so good news on my mother is they are going to start treating her with the first chemo drug she ever took...this is not the maintenance stuff she's been on for the last few years, but real chemo. No one is saying it, but I suspect this is a last ditch effort, because they've run out of other options. I know they told her to get her affairs in order months ago.

Needless to say, I'm having a really hard time. I talked to DxH last night (I have to get Penny today and needed to figure out logistics) and ended up crying to him on the phone, because I really don't have anyone else to talk to. He has always been a good person and later txted me to say he would always be there for me. I have lots of friends, but I realize I don't feel like any of them are people I can call at 8pm and cry on the phone to. The Guy is a very old friend, but he's too caught up in his own stuff (not the least of which is his mother was just Dxed wtih cancer as well) and we're putting the brakes on trying to be a couple right now.

Been a hard couple days, suffice to say. The weather and darkness isn't helping.one.little.bit.

Morning!!

I am about to pull my hair out!!! Being the team player that I am, I am trying to get access to my work computer on my home computer so I can be in touch while I am on maternity leave. I did it before with no issues. But apparently policies have changed and because it isn't a company issued computer, no one will work with me. So tonight after work will be my 6th attempt and about 4 hours of my time to get this fixed. If there is no resolution they can either issue me a loaner laptop or they can kiss my fanny!!!

Torque I really hope the situation with your son works out. I am sure it is hard and there is no right way to handle it but it seems as if you are doing an amazing job in a tough spot. Hang in there!

Moe you can call me anytime about anything, same goes for anyone here!!! And heck these days you can call any hour, if I am not awake, DH is and sometimes he an even better ear than I am!!! Your mom has defied the odds for quite a while now, I wouldn't count her out now!!! She is one tough cookie!!

Let me send another yipee out to Ann and a big old awwwwwwwww to Wippy!!!

Hi all - I'll echo NCRG's feeling about it being a kind of day, though I did catch a little extra nap time this morning when the BART train was delayed going into work.

(((Maureen))) I echo what Beaker said. Your mom is strong. Keep the faith. And call anytime you want. You know I rarely sleep anyway. Please call if you need to talk. I owe you one, remember? (Spring 2008... my little scare?)

Beaker, you gotta love the corporate establishment.... Hope you get it worked out. Or not! That way you can just relax!

Thanks for checking on me yesterday, Ann and Bard. Crisis not exactly averted, but we managed it fairly well.

No, but I've been wondering what happened to her.

Dropped a resume off at the PO this morning. The only way to apply to this job I found was to snail mail the info. (!!! No online application anywhere!) I'm hoping actually printing stuff out and mailing it is too much work for people and there isn't a huge response. It sounds like a fun job & it would get me out of actually designing stuff while using my knowledge of design & the printing process.

Also updated my blog this morning. Here is a sample:

Aren't they cute? Pumpkin salt & pepper shakers. The filler holes didn't shrink as much as I thought they would, so I need to get some different corks, but I'll get those today. The matt brown glaze is a new one, and worked beautifully.

QOD - what about planning a full day of fun! Letting the boys pick a spot for breakfast or lunch (or making their favorites) and then heading to a rock climbing place or all games place (like Dave & Busters, ESPN Zone, etc) Maybe catching a local sports game? College or professional or local?

Thanks for the invite but we'll likely stay put. We do have the option to join some of the kickballers who are all cooking out in Astoria but I kinda like the quieter option of J&I and a couple friends coming over.

I still keep up with Prae on FB, she is a busy chica!

Moonie you almost made hot coup come out my nose with your Craigslist comment, hehehehe

QOD: I like the sporting event idea. (1) because it can be super fun and (2) because it is a family activity. I am sure anything you come up with will be a hit! Though I do also like the Dave and Bsuters idea. Except around here we now have a little twist on that. Chickie and Pete's (which is an institution around here) expanded about a year ago and built an area called Play2. Basically it's an extentsion of the restaurant and there are these huge walled off boothes. In each is a flat screen TV and a gaming system. So you can rent one of these areas, play games, eat and drink. Big hit with everyone I know who has gone so far!!
