Morning!

I have an appmt to get my foot checked first thing this morning, stupid splinter, and then chiro tonight. Not sure if I'll make it to see the knitters tonight.

Wassup peeps?

Oh, and from yesterday:

GO ANN!!!

RIL - I didn't comment yesterday, because my 'kids' have fur, but Sisterleenie has had a number of guy-sitters, and preferred them over the girls she has had. (They were more responsible, played/interacted with her boys, observed her rules, etc.) I think it just depends on the kid.

Thanks for all the good wishes yesterday re: my library position. I am still over the moon about it! It might be stupid to be so excited about a 10-hr, minimum wage gig, but it's a real. library. job. I'm really doing this, peeps!

In other fun news, today is the start of my long-awaited, mostly-yearly get-together with my best friends from HS. Our initials spell out RAMS, and that's what we've always referred to ourselves as. So anyway, "RAMS 2011: Gidget Goes To Grad School And Turns It Up To 11" begins this afternoon when I pick up the M portion of our group at the airport. There will be much wine, snobby beer, and pretty food for the next week! wOOt!

Morning Kath!!

I'm making one of my friends a little sweater for her soon to be Little Stella and I just started it last night got about an inch into it and Craig askes if I'm making my niece Baby Paige a hat. I told him that while Baby Paige does have a rather large mellon and some chubby cheeks I think even she'd be offended that he thinks her head is large enough to wear a SWEATER! It's a cute Kimono sweater in a grassy green and I'm going to crochet a pink scallop trim on the sleeves and maybe bottom.

ANN!!! I'm so proud of you! If I were you I'd totally be pumped too! You are well on your way to a better and brighter future!!

It's so cool that you guys still get together every year. My BFF and I go camping every fathers day weekend and it's a ton of fun but it's just us 2 and sometimes another one of her friends. We just don't hang out with anyone else we went to high school with.... well that would go camping anyway. I hang out with a couple more girls that we went to school with but that's about it. Where are you guys staying? do you move locations every year??

I got nothing today. A couple of meetings, some stormy weather.

OH!!

We had another plane doing loop de loops over the house last night it was super awesome!

HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOE!!! I hope you have a fantabulous time at the Cape!!!

Morning!

My neighbor's grandkids were over last night, swimming till way late, having screaming contests. yes, screaming contests. And nope, no one stopped them. I was not please, and neither were Aiden and Colin. I am all for kids having fun in the summer but when it is past 10:00 on a week night and you don't really have a fence around your yard perhaps allowing the teenagers to scream at the top of their lungs for over an hour is a bad idea!!!

Wippy so cute!! Post a pic of the sweater when itis done. And Baby Paige if ya have any

Ann have a fabulous time!!!!!

Kath busy day for you lady!!!!

Auntie Moe wishing you an absolutely lovely day filled with fantastic things. Wish I was there to share a dessert with you my dessert buddy!!!

Wippy, we generally change locations every year, but we either try to stay at one of our places, or one of our relatives/families to cut down on the cost. This year is at my new place in Columbia. We're going to explore the nightlife and get the lay of the land so I'm not so clueless.

Shannon: teehee! I know, it's weird. I suppose for clarity's sake, I should say that this year's edition is actually rAMS, as Miss R can't make it. But, we shall carry on!

Hi all - much to my surprise, the DMV came in well under their predicted 4-6 week turnaround period and I got my new license yesterday. And the photo I took for it actually doesn't suck. I guess another thing is no one will look at the thing anymore and say "you lost a lot of weight, didn't you?" now that the bio data is up to date

Ann, congrats on the new job!

And happy birthday, Maureen!

Ok, so this is creepy. The other day I walked down to mom's work to drop off some stuff. Chatted with her boyfriend for a bit outside. Then walked back to my office. He called me last night to tell me that as I was walking down the street, a guy noticed someone driving a car very slowly sort of behind me. Taking pictures. Mom's boyfriend went after the car, sure enough that's what was going on. He got the make and license and filed a police report. What the heck! A creepy stalker!? I'm all skeeved out now. And I wanna know who this guy is and what he's up to.

Greetings, all.

FUN = (not really fun, but happy happy joy joy). FINALLY solving a technical support issue for one of my clients that has been going on for a while. Time delays between coordinating all users slowed down the time to get things done, but today we finally figured out the culprit. Their IT guy and I were immensely pleased - enough to joke about going to get beer at 10:48 in the morning in celebration! Whew!

Not fun: Server migration this weekend, and in testing - SO many things are not working as anticipated. Methinks that this probably should get pushed off to the following weekend....

Happy Happy birthday to our lovely Maureen!

Ann - SO happy for you getting the library gig. Yeah, the pay sucks, but right now it's about getting your foot in the door and some experience! Rawr!

Kath - Hope today's dr visit goes well! You need to kick #@)#*$# at GR this year.

Beakerbabe - Uh.. I think I'd be having a little convo with the neighbors if that screaming crap continues.

Hah! Me and my best friends from HS, our initials spelled out BRATZ. (Well, one guy's last name started with 'Z', and everybody just called him 'Z'). We joked about starting a band with that name back in the day. Too bad none of us had any musical talent, but that was besides the point. Well, we all got a bit annoyed when a line of fashion dolls came out with the name Bratz. Not only did they steal our name, but they made it really girly!

Anyway, unfortunately, the 'R' guy kinda drifted away from us over the years. Next week, me and my family will be on vacation with the other 3 guys and their families, so we're obviously still pretty close. So I guess we've been BATZ for most of the last 20+ years. (Or TABZ? Maybe ZABT?) But the good news is that 'R' has gotten back in touch with us and hopefully we can all start hanging out again!

What a day.

Doc cut another layer of skin off my foot, and then put acid on it. I have to go back in 3 weeks. He doesn't think the splinter is still in there, he thinks it is a..... darnit, can't remember the word he used. Basically, when you have a puncture wound, sometimes the skin around the puncturing item gets shoved inside. While it's not a foreign thing, your skin isn't meant to be on the inside, and causes pain/irritation. Anyway. If the acid doesn't take care of it he has to cut an almond shape chunk out & put in about 5 stitches. Stitches on the bottom of your foot = a boot for several weeks so the stitches don't pop. Which is why he is trying everything else first. If it comes to cutting the chunk out it's going to have to wait till after GR, cause taking a month or more off in the middle of a training cycle just isn't going to happen. Heh.
Well ugh on the foot situation! Hope the acid thing does the trick.

GR - Hrm... maybe. :) That may be a game-day decision, if that's okay with you. I've always found that I run better solo, as I don't feel like I'm trying to keep up with people faster than me (and you most certainly are!), but who knows. There's still a lot of time between now and Oct 16th, so who knows how I'm going to feel then :)

Clarebear - That is creepy. However, I'm not sure if the activity is illegal. I don't think it would be in GA, but your laws may differ. In either case, I'm glad that the make/model/tag number of the car was reported - hopefully with a description of the driver and/or picture taker. At least now there is a record of the incident. Be safe out there, hunnybunny!
