Morning! After all the awesome sleep I have been getting lately, I woke up at 3:30. Didn't get up until 5 though. Am going to head out soon for a few miles in 42 degree weather!

Crap night of sleep here too. Had to keep getting up to pee (who am I, Lori?), had f'd up dreams, and the dogs were fussing early.

I'm going to work out (fun) and then hopefully something else fun will happen. Oh, knitting with the ladies this afternoon/evening. That's always fun.

Hey all. I'm sitting in the student union waiting for a meeting I thought was earlier than it really is. It is most excellent people watching, that I don't normally have time to sit and enjoy:)

Lora - glad you are ok!

The same thing happened to DH last year as he was on his way to pick up the kids from soccer. It jumped the ditch on the side of the road and SMACK into the Durango. It should be covered under comprehensive with no rate hike.

Fun? I think I'm going shopping after work today - just me, no kids. The nearest Mall, Target, TJ Maxx is an hour from where we live, so it's a big deal.

Thanks for the hugs and info everyone -- in the daylight this morning I was able to see the extent of the outer damage. Of course, it's worse than I thought. That said, it could be worse than it is. I'll go to the shop today for an estimate and call my insurance... 2010 just keeps throwing sh*t my way.

Sounds like Beaks has had a rough few days -- hope you're feeling better soon!

Kath - my sleeping has been horrible lately. Can't even blame the time change since it was bad before the switch. WIDE awake through hours in the middle of the night... grr.

Gah - sorry Lora. Fortunately for you 2010 is almost over.

Fun: I had salmon, baked potato and brocolli for breakfast (I love supper for breakfast). Not fun: I feel like a total pig now.

(lora) that sucks. good luck with the insurance and thank goodness YOU weren't hurt

did you get to keep the deer though? People can do that here. Just call the HP and they can award it to you and then you gots venison. Not much of a compensation for damage to the car...but still...it's something.

Fun: I got a good night sleep - actually woke up EARLY

not fun: my feet are killing me. dang PF and heel spurs

Lora! OMG, I'm glad you (and the buck) are ok. Really sorry about the car though (and your year...it's almost over.)

RIL, I like the way you think! I'm a big supper for breakfast gal myself. I had a baked potato for breakfast on Monday.

FUN: today's my Friday too!

FUN: our VP is hosting a party in his office at 4pm. Booze and food. Whhheeeeeee...I love academia!

FUN: the Fun Club (or whatever it's called) planned an afterwork thingy today too...so after drinks? more drinks!

FUN: went to see my friend Bleu last night, he was kicking off his new album's tour. Fun show and nice to see him! Also, fun night out with The Guy, which was great too.

FUN: Lunch today with my friend who's in town visiting!

FUN: apparently when I bought BU/BC hockey tix (game's in January), I somehow managed to get some sort of premium package. So far, I've been emailed a parking vouchers for 2 cars, PLUS I just got a VM telling me how to pick up my tickets and my food vouchers ($25/pp) and my souvenir! I know when I bought the tix, there was some deal going on, but since I only paid $28/ticket, I don't know how I got this deal! But I'll take it!

FUN: Taking the nei-phews to the Aquarium tomw, on my own! We're gonna take the commuter rail into downtown. I expect to be EXHAUSTED tomw afternoon. Heh.

Not fun: Gotta get a sh!teload of work done before 4pm!

Honestly...today's a good day.

Since my hips & back don't ache as much and we got out the electric blanket (so I'm warm enough) I've actually been sleeping mostly really well. Last night was partly my own fault - I drank a big mug of hot cider after 9pm, which explains constantly having to pee. I'm going to guess the violent dreams were because of the bullying going on on Glee. And I don't know what Jack's problem was. He might have been cold, because I took his fleece off yesterday to wash it & repair a seam he keeps ripping out.

Last night I sold the dessert bowls I was going to give cousin Matt myself, to my aunt:

and she also bought a matching platter for her daughter to give to cousin Matt.

I don't want to out-gift (if you know what I mean) my aunt and cousin because they have kept in closer touch with cousin Matt than I have. My options of smallish things are limited. One is finished, one is not. If I give him a butter dish I can wrap it and drop it off at my aunt's house, and they can take it with them when they drive down to VA. If I go with the work-in-progress S&P set I'll have to hope it actually works (it's a bit of an experiment), find someone who has Matt's address and ship it next week.

The butter dish that's ready to go:

or, the unfinished pumpkin salt & pepper shakers:

Yah, that's the thing. Less for me to worry about. Especially since I haven't mixed up or tested the brown glaze I'd be using on the S&P. (I've used the glaze in the community studio, just not in mine.)

(((KJ and Grayson))) I hope your little one starts to get stronger soon!

(((Lora))) I hit a deer once with my car. I was driving a brand new Honda 2-door Civic and it needed a ton of work. The deer did not make it. Sad. And scary, too.

Took Lena to see Megamind last night. Funny. We enjoyed our movie snacks, too.

And today I took her and Evelyn to get their flu shots. Evelyn didn't even flinch.

Maureen you have a ton of fun going on there, nice!

Hi all.

Trying to keep myself busy these days and not over think things. DS contacted my DD on Facebook to find his social insurance number, looks like he's trying to find a job...i guess that's good. Still don't know where he is though.

Lora...sorry to hear about the deer. I came close one winter evening when a group of 6 of 7 were on the highway at dusk. I didn't see them until I was just about upon them. I thought for sure I was going to hit them when one moved about a foot or so leaving me just enough room to slip through them. My side mirror slapped her backside as I passed. Oy!

Torque - I guess at least it's a little comforting to know he's willing to contact your daughter. What a nerveracking ordeal. I hope he resurfaces safe and sound soon.

And Happy belated Birthday!

Kath - I'd go with the butter dish, too.

Got one estimate done today for the car -- and I'm waiting to hear back from the insurance people. I'm going to try to get a second estimate tomorrow.
