Morning peeps!

Fun: It's Wednesday!

Not-so-fun: I don't have a day off again until Monday....

So I'll admit it, I watch "Dancing With The Stars". (I've been voting for Hines Ward. ) My mini-rant this morning? When the judges come out on Monday night and say "We're doing something we've never done before - award 15 bonus points for an instant cha cha dance- because so many great dancers have been going home too early" they are all but saying "we don't care what the audience voting is, we want [insert name of dancer here] to stay regardless.

Um, correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't fan base part of the deal? If you don't have the fan base to keep you around, then you go.

Not that I was exclusively voting for Ralph Maccio and Karina (although at the beginning I was splitting my votes), but the judges deliberately ruined their chances on Monday night, IMO, just to ensure that Chelsea Kane would stay into the finals.

Wow....I'll quit yammering about DWTS now! Happy Hump Day!

Lovin' the pics! I'll share a couple of my own. One of me standing next to the snow at the top of North Mountain (that's the leg I'm doing in the relay in a couple of weeks) and one of Lena next to a little waterfall at the bottom of North Mountain. She's getting so big...hard to believe she'll be 4 in less than a month!

Greetings, all!

Fun: My roof work should be finished today! Rawr!

Not fun: We're having issues finding replacement siding to match what's been damaged, so I have to ship off a piece to Allstate so they can confirm that the make/model is out of production, and then they'll pay for that whole section to be replaced with new siding. Not that this is a huge un-fun thing. I just want it all to be over! ;)

Fun: GOTR photos!

Fun: Froggie shakers! (I am still partial to the turtle ones, but the frogs rock, too)

Not fun: Heading to the dentist. I have another issue that's creeping up, but at least we can address it before it becomes a big issue.

Clare: Lena is 4?! 4?!?!?! Are you sure you didn't add an extra year in there somewhere?! That just doesn't sound right! :)

morning peeps!

cold, wet, miserable day again here...grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

I finally had it last night and turned my heat back on. I couldn't take it anymore. My apartment was just so cold and damp. Weird thing is, I've had a cough since my cold last week, and it was MUCH better this morning than it's been. I think the cold and damp was making it worse.

LOVE the pix! and the frogs!

((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((Big G))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))) hang in there lady. You know we're all behind you, if you need ANYTHING.

So, I called the older man, FV, last night. I guess I shouldn't have been concerned...he was chatty, and finally I said, "the reason I called, F, is because I wanted to know if you'd like to have dinner with me Thurs night?" He is busy Thurs, but as long as I can get coverage for the show Saturday night, we'll go out then. I don't see any reason why I can't (and I really don't want to be there anyway), so it should work out fine.

I'm glad I called.

Hi all - I tried posting as I was traveling (unfortunately) back to California yesterday, but my posts wouldn't post. I did see all the lovely pics though, and added to today's pic of Lena and Kath's frogs, it's all good

((((((BigG)))))) Continued big hugs and vibes to you

Actually had a discussion related to this last weekend when Kris and I met up with Roo and her DH for dinner. Makes it a good topic for a QOD methinks:

QOD: Has there been any real-life happenings or bits of news that kinda' made you feel old of late?

a) The original one for me was when I saw the B-52's plastered on a billboard for a Reno casino gig

2) Hearing that "Baby Jessica" (the little girl trapped in a well in Texas) had graduated from high school

D) Seeing all the gray hair on some of the ex-"Whose Line Is That Anyway?" castmembers while watching Drew Carey's "Improv-a-ganza" for the first time this weekend on the Game Show Network

I don't know if I've said before but the gentleman whom I am seeing, used to be a helicopter pilot for the Canadian Air Force. He just invited me to have lunch with him at the mess this Friday. I'm In! of course, but I'm also a little nervous about this. He's also asked me to meet his girls, which strangely enough, makes me less nervous than meeting his AF buddies. I know. I'm twisted.

Love the pictures!!! And those froggies... I want them!! They totally remind me of a ceramic frog my aunt had near her kitchen sink, when we were growing up. It was one of those that held scrubby pads in it's mouth

Fun: Reach the Beach kicks off tomorrow afternoon w/us (4 vans worth of peeps) caravaning up near the start in Wachusett, MA

QOD - my sister texting me the other day, asking if mom was turning 70 this year (she's got one more year)... jesus, when did that happen?

QOD: that the man I'm going to dinner with is significantly older than me (as in born in the 1950s), yet really isn't too old for me!

Also, I was talking to one of our student workers today, and she said she is from Staten Island. I said, oh! really, I've been there...back when I was a freshman in college, in 1986, I went home with a floor mate for the weekend.

The student worker, who is graduating this weekend, wasn't even born yet.

QOD: Yeah, I work at a University. I get reminded All. The. Time. that I am not young anymore. It's usually a cultural reference that I make that leaves the kids with a blank face.

for some reason, Winter calling her kids "rotten stinking buttwads" has been giggling.

Also, I get nervous about meeting friends too. Not that I've met anyone's kids before either, but friends, I dunno...they're scary!

I actually met FV's brother on our 2nd date.

In other news...

My dad just txted me. My mother got out of the (local) hospital yday but had an appt at Dana Farber this morning. His txt: "your mother is unbelievable...her blood counts have IMPROVED and her heart function test was normal. Dr B said he was surprised but happy."

QOD: like Tonya said when I make a cultural reference that I get a blank stare in return, plus the fact that the freshman this past year were all born in 1991 or later.

Qod: Minor incident. Last week a co-worker, Jamie (who is only a year younger than I am) were talking with another co-worker who is probably only 25. For some reason the subject of bacon came up, health issues, yadayada. Jamie mentioned that maybe we should all go back to Sizzlelean. We both howled in laughter. The 3rd co-worker just gave us the deer-in-headlights look, finally asking "WHAT is sizzlelean?!"

Oh yeah kid.. you weren't born yet.....
