Wednesday FUN 10/6

Morning! Tea is brewing....and it is f-f-f-freeeeezing here! Yeah, I know, 48* is NOTHING. But it's the coldest it's been here in 7 months!!!! Gah! 
 
One more day of work, and then I have work travel for two days. Ooof. Although it will get me out of my store, so that's always fun. 
 
And I'm off Saturday again, so I've got that goin' for me too. <img alt="biggrin.gif" class="bbcode_smiley" src="http://files.kickrunners.com/smilies//biggrin.gif">

Oh, yeah, and you know what else is fun? I found a CD with photos from my Notre Dame Half from 2005 stuck in the pocket of my computer bag! <img alt="" src="http://files.kickrunners.com/smilies/banana.gif" style="width:33px;height:35px;" title=""> I don't have time to download them right now, but there are pics with my youngest bro on there (he came over for the weekend and sherpa'd/photog'd for me) that I'm happy I have a digital record of. And I'm suspecting that I have bad hair in them, but meh....I have these phases where I'm convinced I should grow it out, but in retrospect it's a FAIL every time. No ponytails for this girl....

Hey there!
 
Busy couple of days so now I feel out of the loop. Fill me in on any juicy details of the last few days, ok?
 
Yesterday I gave a presentation to our council. I was nervous as anything, but it turned out ok. Whew!
 
Those pics sound neat, post a few when you get a chance! 
 
Speaking of hair, I have an appointment to get mine cut today at 11. I was sure I was gonna get it chopped off, but now I dunno. I like it long, too, but I hate this in between stage. And I like how bouncy it is when it's just cut.

I'm still alive.. now instead of feeling like I was hit by a Mack truck I feel like I was hit by a mid-sized suv. 
 
yesterday's QOD I love to hike. My last major hiking trip was in Kings Canyon which was awesome. My favorite hike is in Yosemite in the early early spring. my next hike is going to be the Grand Canyon!

Actually, I don't know why you'd think that's NOT an awesome night???? Hell, I'm happy when my coworkers make me laugh, or when I make something in the crock pot that turns out well. This morning, I was happy for the little piece of leftover (homemade) pizza I brought with me for lunch...and ate in my car when I was stuck in traffic.
 
Still raining here and THIS is making me miserable. I just HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATEHATEHATEHATEHATEHATEHATEHATEHAAAAAATE rain.
 
Hate it. Really really hate it.
 
I'm going to Toronto this weekend. This is my twice rescheduled trip. Good grief.

Fun: Breakfast of homemade applesauce. I didn't chop the apples as small as I should have, so it's more like baked apple bits, but still quite tasty. Even more with cool whip on top. /evil grin.

Still feeling good about last night. 
Got out for a walk this morning, which was good since my fitness has been for crap lately. 
Cello tonight where I will embarrass myself on the Handel piece that I thought we weren't doing but now we are. 
I am so ready for a day off; I'm still suffering from Monday night's festivities and shortened sleep. I really don't know how you insomniacs function. (((()))) Thankfully, one of my TAs is teaching tomorrow, so I don't have to prep anything. I do have to read the first 85 pages of a dissertation, though.

Hi all - got something to look forward to on Friday: I'm going to the NLDS playoff game between the Giants and the Braves. Originally it was just going to be my sibs and an in-law, but my mom decided she wanted to tag along as well. She's a hardcore Giants fan from back when they moved out here in the late 1950s (lived real close to the 'Stick as well, so they got to see lots of games) but hasn't seen a game yet at the new AT&T park. So that oughta' be real fun

It does. I think it will melt if you broil it. A little olive oil, some lemon and oregano sprinkled on top... OK, I'm drooling.
 
I've also made a shrimp, feta, and tomato dish that is DELICIOUS, and it melts in that as well. <img alt="smile.gif" class="bbcode_smiley" src="http://files.kickrunners.com/smilies//smile.gif"> Not oowie gooie melting, but it does soften and melt.

Your post in a double-tangential way reminds me of the cheese I picked up last week from a local cheesemonger in the Ferry Bldg here - a goat cheese with infused fenugreek seeds. Very delish...
 
Which again reminds me, that very same place now serves up grilled cheese sammiches - they just opened up their prepared food outlet next door to their shop just a week ago. Yummm...

the rain here is still coming down and it's blowy too. Ugh.  There is a restaurant in Cleveland called <a href="http://www.meltbarandgrilled.com/" target="_blank">Melt</a>. From what I hear, it is always PACKED and the sammiches are deeeeeeelicious.

Wippy - I hiked the Grand Canyon a couple of years ago and it was AWESOME! The downside was we only had a few hours to run around. When I do it again, I will go for a couple of days.
