I started a training plan for the half I'm doing in february. 8k this morning. Ugh, tough. I had to sneak into a hotel halfway through to use their facilities. Not pretty. It ended up taking me almost an hour to finish the distance. I'm not sure what's going on but the last few runs I've done have been horrible.

Slowly getting back into the routine - no big-time cardio yet, but at least I'm getting active. Took a nice brisk walk (with little running intervals) on an extended journey to the ferry building here after work, then threw in some upper-body strength stuff at home.

Maybe only in Vegas? Found this headline on our local newspaper's website

Anyway, good runs, workouts and/or rest days to you all

A frigid run for me this morning. I'm still trying to warm up. I've had such bad luck trying to regulate my layers and body temp. Too hot, too cold. Ugh. My eyelashes froze this morning too. It makes me feel like a badass.

I so admire you guys who get out there in the cold and frigid temps to run. I am such a weenie. I might be able to get out there midday on a weekend and get a run in, but during the week it's dark in the morning and dark when I get home from work and I find it hard enough to get out there in the cold but the cold AND the dark? nu uh. Weenieville.

So I'll be hitting the treadmill again today. I got up yesterday feeling totally normal (as normal as I get anyway, heh) and even though I was afraid of making a move that would start the vertigo up again I decided not to live in fear and just operate like I was 100% a-okay. And all was well. Yay! So a couple miles on the mill yesterday followed by some upper body weights. I'll run 3 miles today on the mill again.

Ha - Shannon - you are a badass!

Nothing for me. Damn flu is going to totally throw this week off. I haven't eaten in 36 hours, so once I do finally get better, I am going to need a few days to get my strength back. I am wicked dehydrated right now, which really, really sucks. I am sipping on water and nuun. Hopefully that will help. I can't possibly fathom eating anything at this point. :(

Why do the running gods hate me?

I hope everyone's running is going well. I'm in the middle of that frantic time of the year where I'm trying to get everything done before the holidays as I only have 6 working days, including today, left in 2010 (oops, forgot to use all my vacation earlier...)

Good runs to all.

Jen - Thanks for asking about my training. No running yet, just walking and eccentric ankle exercises for now, but I'm pain free for those. Running will start soon enough. Since I'm not going to attempt to race Boston, I'm doing my best to be patient.

Thanks all. I was just able to stomach about 1/4 cup of chicken soup. Tunny is grumbly, but it seems like a start in the right direction. I am supah dizzy though. This girl cannot go that long without proper food. :)
