DOR for me (planned). Left foot is angry as usual after waking up but not as angry as it has been lately. Did some horrid trigger point and stretches last night. They seem to be helping.

2nd coat of paint on the master today and then I get to start taping off the family room. That should finish the painting for a while.

Good morning, TEAM LIT!

Good news on the job front for me: It has been a very busy month since my company was dismantled. I was putting in roughly 60 hour weeks between networking, meeting colleagues, and interviewing. I have finally decided on my next job and have accepted the offer. Start date will be end of month, which is nice to have a few more weeks off because this job will be a lot of work in short time in many brand new technology areas for me.

namhela: Good ideas. Thank you!

4 mile run early this very frigid morning at about 12F with a sturdy enough wind.

Thor - congrats! Hope the new job is to your liking.

Yoshi - I hear you on the TM running. Sometimes though ya just gotta suck it up and get 'er done. I too get sick if I try and watch the TV attached to the TM.

17.8 mi on the treadmill this morning in 2 hours. All z2 until the last 10 min, when I think I was getting dehydrated. Nice to be able to run sub 7 min/mi in z2. Set the TM, plugged into the iPod and just went.

Happy hump-day everyone!

Thor - congrats on the new gig!

Dance tonight if the weather cooperates, otherwise it's fun time in the basement. Haven't spent much time around here lately since I have done much in the way of s/b/r lately and it probably won't be in the near future...so goes the cycle!

Hope everyone is doing well!

Another day of X-country skiing (about 40 minutes). Edge of the track was pretty crusty after thaw/freeze, so lots of stumbling.

Well done, Thor - Hope you enjoy the new gig (was it the 9 hour interview one, or another?).

Mike...nicely done, but crazy! I'd be on the TM all day trying to get that mileage in.

I did that once. That 17-miler on the treadmill back in December 2008 is the reason I haven't been on the TM since...and also the reason I will likely never pick a winter marathon.

How do I put this delicately.... I suspect you were on the TM for more than 2 hours to get that 17 miles. I think 2 hours is about my limit, the last 10 min I was watching the clock pretty much the entire time. It also seems to drag on when the TV is set to Fox News.

The work situation doesn't give me a whole lotta options other than the TM. I probably have another 2 hour session come Sunday.

By the third hour, I was too tired to go apeshit on the TV. That would have given the Silver Sneakers more entertainment.

3 hrs can be easily passed with any of the Lord of the Rings movies. I've spent many trainer rides watching either them, Star Wars or Bourne.

Thanks!

Also managed to get my short run done today. Headed out a bit after 4pm to run laps around the Brandeis campus loop. It's like 1.08 miles and, IMHO, is nicer than the 1/8th mile indoor track and waaaay better than the TM. Did 5 laps and a loop around the castle (yes, there's a castle on campus) for something like 5.89 miles total. The campus loop is actually fairly hilly, with 6-10% grades and are not at all "short" so it was a good hill workout but not at all a zone 2 workout.

Thor - Congrats on the new job. Enjoy the next few weeks before you get busy again.

Mike - 17+miles on TM... Don't remember the last time I ran that many miles on the belt. Just not fair you can get it done less than 2hrs. As jr always says, <3hrs marathon seems to be a quite different monster than much longer marathon. Well done, nonethless.

Still at off-site meeting, and another easy TM run. 6miles. My HR seems to be always higher than it should be at the speed TM says. Maybe a lack of fan may contribute. Don't know. I am adding 7th day of running this week (tomorrow). Probably only 4miles to start with. I am still debating to get up early to do that on TM before a meeting, or, later in the day (after going home!) in the cold/dark maybe at 15F. Though I don't like running on TM, I have started enjoying running in shorts!

17.8 on the TM? Holy cats. I did 15 once a long time ago. Haven't gone longer than 8-9 since (I'm part of the group that would take 3 hours to run 17 miles).

Thor - congrats on the job!

Hobey - congrats on the painting!

Julie - that plyo workout is fun, isn't it? I totally dig that and kenpo.

I done all my running on the TM during winter. Usually watch EPL soccer on ESPN2 on Sat morning, something different to help with the time. OK after a 3 weeks haitus from swimming (last week ice storm, 2 weeks before that were due to work). I finally got back to swimming, did just 21 laps. Trying to focus on keeping my legs straight
