Well, they say it is Ground Hog Day. The little creature is snowed in. Again. And with this amount of snow here in the northeast, I don't think he'll be able to get out in the next two months, maybe three. So winter continues for far too many more months. This is ridiculous.

Happy Wednesday and Groundhog Day! I celebrated by watching the movie last night. :)

Went for a 6m run pushin' the jogger. It's kinda windy today, which makes pushing 80 pounds of kid oh so fun...but I look at it as endurance training. We went by the stables and a very nice horse owner invited us to watch her two beautiful horses roll around in the dirt and run in the open corral for a while. Then, saw the two elusive swans by the lake...I haven't seen them in probably two years. A fun day with nature in the city.

mostly just checking in to see how my friends in the NE are doing...from the lack of posts I'm guessing mostly no power How do you all stay warm when your power is out? I guess radiator heat still works? We have gas heat but it will only turn on with an electric switch...

No power at my house either, but UT has it's own power plant, so here I am freezing in my office (they have a power plant, but no heat in my office go figure, at least I have the internet!)

Didn't get my trainer session in last night, went roller skating instead- is it the off season or what! Maybe I'll get the trainer session in tonight just to get warm if there still no power!

We were sPared much of the snow and ice, just mostly rain. But eli's swim class was cancelled yet again (3rd time) since it was slippery this morning. So I spun on the trainer for an hour during his morning nap, then he got to go swimming in the afternoon.

I'm seeing a lot of crazy snow pictures from all over today. I feel for my nieces. Rare snow in AR but the air temp is below 10 so it probably too cold to play.

DOR for me. More taping and painting on the agenda. 2nd coat for the master accent wall and then first coat for the downstairs bathroom. Whee!

I almost hate to share my workout plan for the day given what everyone is going through elsewhere. But... I must!!!

It's another beautiful day in the PNW- Upper 40's and sun. And enough daylight that I'm taking my bike out this afternoon to ride for as long as there is light. I should be able to squeeze in hour.

Nothing for me today. Every place I could go to workout is closed today and I'm not man enough to run in this blizzard. 28mph winds in 19 degree temps just doesn't sound fun at all. Not scheduled to start riding again until next week, so I'll just enjoy the day off.

Here in NH we've been dumped on again with snow but haven't experienced a power loss yet this winter. When our power goes out we turn on the generator and that keeps the important stuff in our house functioning. Most folks in my area heat with wood so power loss isn't that big of an issue.

Snow day for us! DH also stayed home so we've had fun sledding, shoveling, & plowing. Soaking in the hot tub is next on the list.

All of the snow pictures are making DH and I swoon...we talk a good game, but I'm sure if we were up north getting hit by the system we would be singing a different tune.

Treadmill again today. Slow easy pace. Didn't feel quite as bad as yesterday. Stretching afterward.

Son is still sick at home today and it's still cold out with windchills around -20 or so. Fortunately my son's school has been closed the past two days and he hasn't missed anything. Plus he's starting to feel better.

Treadmill running just doesn't feel natural for me and I struggle to run a decent pace. Maybe if I did it more often?

To my great surprise, I took an EARLIER flight home and that was on time! Obviously Metro Detroit was spared from this big storm. Still, roads are mess. Hope everybody is safe.

7miles in cold TN. Found a mile long gradual hill. So just went up and down, up and down. Wish we had this kind of hill nearby. Great training for Boston.

Oof, my 8 mile run was much tougher than I expected. Legs are obviously beat after Tuesday's run/trainer workouts and yesterday's hill run. You know how when your leg muscles are near their limit your gait occasionally goes all wonky as some muscle or other fails slightly? Yeah. I had that going on for about the last 3 or so miles. Doesn't bode well for tonight's trainer workout.

Rest day tomorrow, though. Tomorrow is a rest day. I get to rest tomorrow. Tomorrow.
