Hi Meri! That's tapering?

I ran 15 today, 8.2 to downtown at a reasonable pace, then stopped to call in to work to leave a message for a colleague. Couldn't find my pace again, but finished it anyway.

Not much sleep the last few nights (hockey two nights ago, a play last night... I'm a social butterfly!)

Have good ones all.
Nothing for me. But I'm happy to say I've found you guys.

I also broke my foot on a 10 mile training run 2.5 weeks ago, so my half is off and I'm just trying to hit people with my crutches now.

Hi ellenshana! So sorry to hear about your foot

I'm getting antsy reading these run reports when I have to wait till after 5:00.

No, it's an avulsion fracture. I was out pushing the baby on a beautiful Sunday, three miles from home, when I hit some weird divet or hole or imperfection in the cement, and turned my foot. I immediately knew it was bad. I tried to walk home and could not, so stopped a passerby to borrow a cell phone to call my husband to come pick us up. Went to the dr on Monday and he sent me to an orthopedic surgeon on Tuesday, who confirmed an avulsion fracture. Now, I'm on crutches and one of those really chic velcro shoes. I have another appointment this Friday and am hoping for him to say something like, "Wow! I've never seen anybody heal so fast or so well!"

The baby is great, thank you. She is 7.5 months already and started crawling backwards this week.

I broke my foot years ago by stepping on it weird. I knew as soon as i did it. I was in denial and walked home and it sucked. Went to the ER next.
3.3 miles in the park. Got my run in between the rain.

Realized this loop has a lot of uninterrupted downhill, and doing it twice in one week was hard on my quads.

Ugh. The legs were very tired today after the last two days hard efforts. Also, I have not gone this far in over 2 weeks.

To make matters worse it was in the 70s at the start of the run. Remember, last week it was 0 degrees a couple of mornings! I wasn't ready for the temperature change.

After the run I came home and just crashed on my bed for about 1/2 an hour. I was exhausted.

Run Segments
5.5 easy miles with my running buddy tonight. We talked over details for Sunday. It was in the 70s and felt muggy and HOT! I also taught yoga this morning.

ellenshana, I missed that you broke your foot. Bummer! I hope it heals very quickly.
