Have you ever wondered how people survived a couple hundred years ago? I mean, no air conditioning, no electricity, no refrigeration... How did people make it thru the day? Did they just all sit chest-deep in a lake all day long??

well, truth be told, people today still live in those conditions around the world! i spent a summer in nepal where it was hot as balls 100F+ every day and managed to survive without air conditioning.. for an entire summer. i think your body just acclimates and you get used to being hot and sticky... all. the.time. not that i liked it - i never felt more relief than to get on the air conditioned plane.

thank you all for your housing advice the other day. i agree with all of you.. but DH is the one who is trying to forge ahead with buying plans. hes supremely confident that his contract will be renewed (his boss depends 100% on him and said it would but i won't take just his word for it, KWIM?) and also, hes tired of living in such a tiny place. with the four of us, we are practically on top of one another... which will only get worse as AK starts walking.
