So, I should have slept in but decided to go out for a recovery run because I'm stupid. 6 miles in the log. Track tonight is 4 * 1200. Yikes.

MTA: Evening track workout. Our regular track was closed since The Man had decided to paint the lines during the day (coach does the workout in the morning). So, a group of us hit up an open track at a nearby junior HS. While dodging people walking, one couple with a dog, in lane 1 we managed to get in the workout quicker than normal as we didn't have to wait for other groups. It went as follows:

WU 800m

1200: 4:33, w/400 recovery

1200: 4:30, w/400 recovery

1200: 4:28, w/400 recovery

1200: 4:27, w400 recovery

CD 800m

I was shooting for ~4:30 so feel good about the workout plus it cured my sore quads. My buddy went out too slow on the first one but it's all good. 80F and humid. Also, on the first interval, I managed to flatten a kid - he was like a deer in headlights then darted left and right in front of me. First time that's ever happened.

Add me to the "sleeping in" club. Today should have been a swim day but I didn't wanna. Decided I'd ride this morning. Woke to a pretty impressive thunder storm. Uh, think not! I guess it's gonna be an unscheduled rest day. Oh well, I probably need it.

Asics--BTDT. Sometimes once I get moving I feel better. Then other times not so much.

Dan--good to see you back!

Hi all,

Gray/rainy day here but a little cooler (70s-80s) so we'll take that. Intermittent t-storms throughout the day.

1600 repeats at the track last night but crappy results -- 6:18, 6:32, 6:41. It was hot/humid, I've lost fitness after missing 3 weeks of marathon training, and was in a fair amount of discomfort due to the poison ivy rashes all over me.

I suppose I did well just to persevere. And maybe I can turn things around soon and get my mojo back. Definitely not feeling it right now. Whatever, I'll push on and give it a couple more weeks, and if I don't start seeing things come back together by then I'll shut it down re: Chicago, and just wait for the next marathon.

Scheduled XT day today -- will ride some roads this evening if weather permits, otherwise it's probably some elliptical time.

No time for comments. Way behind schedule on tasks at the office. Nice work all.

Hawk - I think you had mitigating circumstances... If your training doesn't turn around, why not just run Chicago easy? You can check it off the list of majors and then run a November marathon all out. Just sayin'...

Yeah...maybe I can repeat the RunAsics spectacular of 2010 at Indy. Or Charlotte - that's one's got sentimental value for me.

I did do one marathon "easy" -- National back in 2009. I ran a 3:35, felt fresh at the end and was back to regular training by midweek. Of course then I got injured the week before Boston, so...let's just say I will have to think on that one.

I still haven't booked any travel for Chicago; these recent setbacks have admittedly taken a toll on my motivation to get moving on that stuff. Nothing Captain Kirk can't help me fix at Priceline.

The other wild card in the deck is whether I get lucky in the lottery for London. If I do make it, I'll be all in for that.

7 mile run at conversational pace this morning. It was good to have someone to run with for once. At lunch I did 2000 meter swim.

hello all -

Up early for me today but for a run.... Early morning meeting.

Yesterday's run went better than Mondays and legs felt better than I thought. Only did 3m but the good feeling of running again gave me some boost. Plus the trail was packed with runners, so feeling the camaraderie of running among other runners was uplifting. Felt good to be among the pack :)

Today will be a gym day after work.

ZRUN - wear those scratches as a badge of honor!!

Hope all have a good day.

Nuthin' so far today, except a lot of walking around Hersheypark. I actually went for short 4.5 mile second run on a path around Hershey Medical Center here last night after I posted. May still get something in later, we'll see. Take care, all.
