Morning, all. Up at BCOD, so I guess I'll be starting. :)

15 for me, to start a hectic workday. Must not succumb to comfortable-looking couch for catnap . . . Must . . . get . . . out there.

Good ones to everyone.

Good morning all.

Nice early 15 Chances.

I was running a little late, so just 6 on the mountain roads. I will be going to NY for a couple days for work... not sure if/how I'll get my runs in...

10.6 exciting miles this morning. Within 1/4 miles I hit police action down by the river then it was quiet until I moved from the bike path to the trail. Ran into Bambi and mother on a stretch of the trail I'd never run before. After a short face off they jumped into the bushes. On the way back, they were waiting for me. Bambi scampered off in front. I turned and saw that I was being chased by mother deer (well, that may be a slight exaggeration). Later, I encountered a coyote. Safely back home now.

Anyway, it was a cool 62F with lower humidty. Crappy pace again despite a promising start. I'm getting slower by the week.

Chances - a cat nap sounds good about now but not for you! Get your arse in gear and run your 15 mile warmup.

Loopy - we'll have to start calling you "mountain goat" soon.

chances--15 mid-week?

loopy--you'll find a way to get the miles in.

Asics--are you sure you weren't part of the police action?

Jill--are you getting this great early fall weather taht we are?

Early morning trot for me so I could beat the school traffic. Still feeling Sunday's race, rethinking my long run for Saturday. But, all in all, it felt good to get out there. Short 4 at 9:05pace, neg split. Stopped home long enough to pick up the hound and added a 2.5m CD walk.

Son3 is having a rough adjustment to school. He thought it was so funny that on the first day of classes he shadowed his friend, rather than going to his own classes. Yesterday, he went to his own classes where he learned that there was homework due.

Morning ...

Rob - If you have to avoid the couch just nap on the floor

Loopy - 6 will do it. Hope NY is fun and not work.

RA - Don't get a bad reputation with the locals out there.

Jill - Nice morning 5er

4boys - Ah, there are many lessons to be learned in HS.

Still feeling pretty wiped. Considerably better than yesterday though. I don't know, will I wait another day or, will I take a chance and get out there for 30 min?

Mom- Homework on the 1st day of school? Is this a military academy?!

Dan- you ain't foolin me... you'll get out there.

I, am quite sleepy. I guess I should've listened to my brain yesterday and done something easy. My quads are sore. I think I may get out there for a recovery 3 or 4... the weather is just too nice to stay indoors (compared to what it has been at least, kinda sad when 90* for a high is 'nice').

Howdy everybody! Looks like everyone is at it early this morning. I got out for 6.2 this morning after work on a pretty tough, cool little backroad/highway run. I hit the pace I wanted and finished at 47:10. I'm thinking the weather had something to do with that considering it was about 20 degrees cooler here than it has been. Ran 6.2 two weeks ago about 3 min slower. Good runs this morning everybody.

Good morning all, just another nice day in Asheville. Actually it's a bit better than yesterday, less humid.

After going hard on the trails yesterday, we're going to dial it back a little today and cycle some trails along the river downtown. We'll probably make some stops along the way, so there is no particular pace or distance in mind, we'll just ride by feel today.

Nice going on all the early runs out there. Chances, hopefully you ran that 15 and didn't just dream it on your couch. :D

Good morning everyone. I got out for 5 X 1/2 mile today. The repeats were 7:07, 7:22, 7:26, 7:00, 6:41 and these paces were good for today. I am doing my training as a run by effort etc... Nice job on getting out there this morning.

BBS- It seems that they are requiring kids to do more than ever in school now days.

Hawk - Asheville, sweet Asheville. Enjoy.

JD - Heat will do it every time

zrun - It's 54 here as I type. Perfect.

BBS - Hope you got that run in in that "perfect" weather

Yes, I did get out for 35 min. Real slow however. Hoping my bod feels better tomorrow.

Dan - glad you got it in and pushed thru it.

I was up early but agenda was to take the pup to the vet. I dropped her off for some testing and she was not happy that the car ride did not lead to a trail head but the Dr's office, she looked at me like I tricked her.

Anyway, work work work all day, then pick up the pup, then plan on heading out for 3m around town. Weather is damp but it should be a good run.

Dan- I have one more race on labor day weekend that is a 10k. ON 9/11 a downhill 8k and that is all the racing for the year. There may be a couple of fun runs in October and November, but that is all. I am doing some wear testing for brooks, so I do have to keep my mileage decent Until I am done with that.
