Good morning, TEAM LIT!

Tri-Tamster: Unstructured fun as a next step post-race sounds good and is what most people should stick with. And it can be a lot of fun, trying new things, letting the workout go where it wants -- be it a stroll in the park, an utter hammer fest, or even up a mountain :)

Me...

10.5 mile hill-tempo run early this morning including 7 repeats of a .3+ mile hill broken up into 4 and 3 and a two charges of a mile long gentle incline:

o WU - 28 min (included one pass of Hill + charge of mile long gentle incline)

o 4 x Hill (2:09, 2:09, 2:09. 2:10)

o Temp 20 min (charge of mile long gentle incline)

o 3 x Hill (2:15, 2:19, 2:12)

o CD - jog home ~.5 miles

*Dragged ass much of this workout. Just didn't feel fluid or strong on the hills, nor tempo pacing. But wanted to get this in since I have social runs the remainder of the week. Hill repeats are 5 to 10 seconds off where I should be. You can tell I was cooked toward the end with random splits. Had fun jamming to a new band on my iPod. Good stuff. Humid morning.

Great day, Tri-peeps!

Not sure what I'll do. I've developed this strange pain in my right Hammy. It only hurts when I bend the knee in. Life has been crazy and i'm exhausted, so it might be an easy day today. Tomorrow, I plan to ride the trainer for a bit, then watch the pats game.

Soooo tired this morning from my late night of painting the trim in our house. I didn't get to bed until after midnight.

Instead of working off of 4.5 hours of sleep and getting in a BRICK workout this morning :)45 ride, :30 run), I am putting it off until after work. The way I am feeling right now, I may need to head to my car at lunch for an afternoon nap.

@Adco - after IMLP, you should be resting if you feel any pain or uncomfortability. Let your body recover propoerly.

@Thor - You're just a glutton for punishment. Your knee is feeling better so you go and do a crazy hill workout. Nut.

I would say I haven't been working out, but my "workload" on the house has increased. Evidence of the 40 sheets of drywall, and MANY other things I've moved over the past weekends, plus the 2 dumpsters. This week I have a 2mi swim race and I'm watching my nieces so I should get a little "rest."

Working from home this morning as I have a bug guy coming to spray for carpenter bees. And do you know what feed on these bees? Woodpeckers, so now I have to fix or replace some trim around the house. But since this is not Ask The Handiman (but I welcome any suggestions) that is enough.

Workout. Since I had some time I joined a couple of the bikers for a quick 16 mile loop this morning. They were quicker than I was but I still got it done in under an hour. Amazing how quick you lose it when your riding drops in quanity compared to folks that are still riding a lot. Had to skip the Pump class at the Y but I can always lift.

My pool is closed for a week so they can do all the yearly cleanings, etc. Not good news for me with Timberman just a few days away. But as luck would have it, I was able to go do an open water swim at the Pumpkinman course with the race director, Kat, this morning. Pretty solid swim. ALMOST got a real treat as Austrailian pro Joe Gambles is in the area for Timberman ad was going to join us for the workout but had to cancel at the last minute.

Added 1:05 on the bike, including 5' hard, 5' recovery, 5x1' hard with 2' recoveries

You're so right Thor. It's really easy to get stuck in a rut!

Thankfully the weather has cooled down today. I was starting to feel constantly dehydrated.

Today I have a 45 min. run planned and an OW swim. Might not get to the swim though. Not too worried about that.

Catching up after a few days though I'm still crazy busy at work and OMG, I haven't checked in since last Wednesday. Oy! So I shall just recap here....

Thursday - 6 mile run running after BrewDad & Little BrewDad (on the bike). Little BD can't be my training partner else every run will turn into a tempo/VO2 max effort.

Friday - Bike commute into work. The boys picked me up after work so we can make the drive south to Roseburg

Saturday - 2 hours whitewater rafting and working the arms & core. Good x-training! Followed by wine tasting at a couple of wineries

Sunday - Tooling around on the bikes with Little BD in the morning. We rode about 6 miles as a family and then I added 3 miles riding back to the hotel. Followed by wine tasting at a few more wineries

Monday - Rest

Yesterday - 3 mile fartlek run in the morning

Today - Round trip bike commute

I miss all of you. I'm hoping things will start to quiet down as we stretch into the fall. Right now, it's all I can to to just keep things together.

First day back to work for me as our new school year begins. I'm exhausted from too much mental input in a very short period of time.

Strength training is on my agenda for this evening.

hobey - sounds like you are doing well considering the demanding responsibilities at work and of course at home. Way To Go, Woman!

Early 50min run in steamy Alabama, 8x repeats of a small incline which took 1:09 first time, the final one at 1:03. Felt good. After a few meetings and sweaty walk around the airport, I was tired coming home. But got the second wind and ended up running another 4 miles harder than planned. Quite surprised considering the early morning run, maybe the hill repeats helped. First time in a long time to run twice in a day.

2:06 on the bike tonight. Nice ride. Kept it easy and relatively flat. Some discomfort from the adductors the first 30min as I rode to my friend's house. Stretched things out, joined my friend for an hour and things felt much better. Rode back to my house.

Smelled grilling meat during the ride, so that's what I had for dinner.

More SLACKING by me.. putzed around the house, cooked dinner and helped the mrs stake the tomatoes. It's only a complete mess in our garden, but considering we didn't actually PLANT anything and they just grew, we can't complain.

I think you're being hard on yourself....

You seem to be much more active post IM than many would be, or even have been.

Yeah, it's not necessarily in S/B/R areas, but don't knock the activity level of your home/house work/jobs.

Truthfully, whenever we had a "bad" one, we just dropped in the garden. if only we had moved them when they first grew they'd look more normal.
