Morning yous guys

Well, we survived the storms once again.

I can still feel that 5k in my legs, so I think I'm gonna tweek my schedule a bit. Calling for a 5 mi tempo, but I think I'm going to rest today and do it tomorrow, It gave me a rest day on Friday, so I can make up for Thursdays run then.

I'm interested in how well this smartcoach schedule works. Its giving me a race pace of 7:16 for my 11.5 mile race (actually I entered it for a 20K), seems fast for me but it is going off of my 5K time last weekend.

Back to work tonight. Next off time I get should be for the new DD

Have a good rest day, BBS, that is some beard on Anton. Another rainy but relatively pleasant 6.5 on the trails. Doesn't look good for track tonight with the rain, we'll see.

2000m steady in the fishbowl. Time still sucks, not sure what's up with that. Certainly was feeling it that I mowed the lawn yesterday! 6.5weeks 'til the first tri of the season, so we'll see...

Good morning everyone. I got in 5 miles this morning in 43:14(8:37). It was a littl chilly this morning, but hopefully it will continue to warm up this week. Have a great morning everyone.

Morning all

Recovery day planned here, hopefully on some trails. I packed a bag today with the idea of doing a quick change at quittin' time then heading to the lake for about 5 or so. Plan B would be to hit the little campus trail near the office at lunch; I may do that if the cloudy skies turn to rainy ones.

BBS - enjoy the rest day; I'll probably be dialing it back the rest of this week myself, given I'm still feeling a little heavy in the legs after last weekend and having an "A" race this coming Sunday. Re: Minimus shoes, probably not for me. But I am curious about the Saucony Peregrine, which looks like a trail version of the Kinvara. Would that shoe get me to switch from the Asics Gel Trail Attacks that I'm wearing now? Not sure yet and the Asics still have plenty of miles left on them.

zrun - nice job on the 6.5 and hope the rains holds off for you

4bm - nice steady swim is OK

kevin - well done on the 5, hopefully spring is coming. RSL tonight, don't forget. The hopes of a soccer nation are on their shoulders. No pressure.

Rain delay this morning. Then, on the way to work, the sinus headache that's been lingering went through the roof. I could barely focus my eyes, which is not fun when you are driving in the rain with a toddle in the back. After 3 hours thinking my head was going to explode, it's finally returned to tolerable levels. I may try to get in 5 this afternoon on the TM. In other news; the storms forecast for the Illinois marathon on Saturday seem to have moved to Sunday. So, perhaps we won't get wet or struck by lightening. It no seems I'll be pacing not only DW but a buddy's wife and a bloke from our running club. Said buddy and his phenom kid will join us for the 2nd half. Quite the 3:40 party.

Hawk - enjoy the trails

kfuller - nice job on the 5'er

4boysmom - two words... power mower. Those hand push ones will mess you up ;) Nice job on the pool.

zrun - yep, track tonight is not happening. Glad one of us braved the rain. I've had enough of April showers.

BBS - the 5k was your speedwork. Wait until next week for the tempo. My 5k time gives a sub 3hr marathon, i.e. it's meaningless. You need at least a 10k race time for "race predictions" up to HM. You'll need to run more miles.

MTA: 5.3 miles on the TM at work.

Hawk- Not being a huge soccer fan like you are I too hope they can win. It will be hard for them to loose at home though. It should be a great game and they are doing a red out for the game which should be cool. Too bad I do not have fox soccer channel.

Gearing up for a tuneup 5k race this weekend. I hope I can hit around 20:45 or less. It looks as if the temps will be less than ideal for the race though.

Hi everyone! I was up early for a p90x workout (legs and back, and abs). My lunch run was made unsafe due to severe storms, so I still need to get on the treadmill tonight.

Sounds like the severe weather has moved east, maybe we can all get some pockets of non-rain the next few days. Turned out to be great conditions for the track workout and the boy was willing, so off we went and improved some more over last week. 3 x 1 mile with him in 7:38, 7:36, 7:18 and me pacing a couple of secs ahead.

RA - hope you feel better and cool about your pacing party, I'll be with you in spirt (and likely close the same pace) for 18 at the Arboretum Saturday morning, then use your friend's son as motivation to try and get son1 out with me Sunday for 4-5 recovery miles.
