Morning, all. Up too early. Trying to relax with a little Radiohead.

Seven good miles yesterday. Somewhere around the same today with a little speedwork in there, too.

We were up during the night thanks to tornado warnings. This morning I woke up enough to make sure the kids were up and off to school. But, that early before school track workout, uh, not happening!!! While son1 is at class this afternoon I'll run at the park. It's a short 1m rectangle. I figure I'll run the longs as 400's although they won't be perfect. Should be interesting with this stupid wind. Looks like we are stuck with the wind for at least the next week--which doesn't bode well for our ride up to Grandma's this weekend.

Rob- just try and not become a creep. Glad your 7 went well

Mom- we had the same bad weather here. We actually had to shut our lines down @ work for about 15 mins due to tornado warnings.

I ended up doing the 800s on the TM yesterday. 3x800 @ 5K pace w/ 400 recoveries. The recoveries felt a little long, but the 800s felt a little tough. Hoping that is due to the medicine I've been on, and also hoping it will be gone by saturday morning.

Waiting on a phone call now which will determine my run today. I plan on a recovery 5.

Good morning everyone. Sounds like some interesting weather in the eastern part of the country.

Today I did 5 med/easy miles. 5 miles 43:13(8:39). The good thing is that I got good sleep and woke feeling ready to run. Overall it was a great run.

Probably try to get in another 6 or so today. Haven't decided if I'm going to track tonight - the posted workout is 6 * 800. Still feeling funky and my throat is not a happy camper.

kfuller - nice job on the 5

BBS - Nice job on the 800s. Pretty sure meds will impact any strenuous activity.

4boysmom - have fun on the oval rectangle.

Chances - Radiohead, eh? Hope the speedy 7 goes well.

zrun - good job getting out in the crappy Spring weather

Hey all. I haven't decided between a wet and windy lunchtime run, or a treadmill plod after work. Decisions, decisions.

Morning peeps, hopefully no creeps.

I've got a busy day at work but once I get through a training session this afternoon I'm hoping I can cut out early, get home and go long (12-16). Weather may not cooperate with the plan, or at the very least may force me indoors. We're going to get thunderstorms later for sure...the only question is when.

Chances - I am totally digging Lotus Flower right now, downloaded that one last week. It's got a quiet intensity about it that just pushes you along on a run or a spin.

4bm - have fun with the speedy park loops

kevin - nice on the 5. Amazing what a good night's rest will do...when we can actually get it.

zrun - good luck on the double

RA - have a good half dozen later

jebba - yep, same decision I'm facing.

Hmmm... not really sure why it didn't post my entry, and this'll probably end up in a double post.

Easy 6 for me today. Felt great, but it was supposed to be a recovery-type run, so I kept myself in check.

hey all -

Sounds like a Wednesday in here today... Mid week stuff going on except for the crazy weather some of you have

Today the weather is a nice one so I am heading out the door at 3, picking up the pup and hitting the trails. I put enough late hours this week that I am due! Tomorrow will be yet another late day for a work project.

zrun - yes I am all recovered from toughmudder & actually I was surprised at how quickly I recovered. The bonus is on my last run I felt stronger and look forward to doing hill work next couple of weeks. I hear San Diego has hills and want to be ready.

Enjoy the rest of your hump day all!

Hello everyone! Got back from Boston yesterday afternoon. I definitely need some time to recuperate after that race. Thanks for all of the well wishes. Really wish I could have seen loopy run. I just finished my race report and posted it on my blog. I was taken down by heat exhaustion. I finished and barely. No worries, I'm not upset or frustrated. In those conditions it's a huge accomplishment to have simply completed the distance than anything else. It wasn't a pretty run, but I did it. And now I transition to trails. I definitely need a change of pace.

Sounds like I missed some good races over the weekend. Great job everyone. I'll pop in while I recover to check on you guys.

Jill, thanks for checking in and glad you made it home. I saw your FB post-race update and knew you had a tough day. Different circumstances, but my first Boston was somewhat similar in that it turned into an epic ordeal and I was happy just to finish. Anyway, congratulations!

Hopefully, like Apple, escaping from work soon...

Got the "intervals" done. Mmm... not great, but got 'em done. Stupid windy and it's not a flat course. Given that, I'm okay with the effort. Oh, and sometimes dementia works in your favor. I thought I had only done 4, but looking at the data, I did 6. Total 5.25m, 44:41, 8:30pace.

Jill--ya just can't control the weather. I should have BQed at my last full, but 65* at the start 77* at the finish made just finishing an accomplishment. Glad you have a good attitude about it.

Jill - great job gutting it out to the finish in Boston. I know first hand how heat messes with the body. Hope you recover quickly and hit those trails with vim and vigour

Well, I didn't get my run in today since I had to go back to the car dealer. There were some nice lights flashing on my dash the day after a service... hmmm. They reset a few things but warming lights came back later. Great. I hope to get in 10 tomorrow morning. Famous last words.

Well, despite my bold declaration earlier I did not get out of work any earlier than usual and by the time I hit the road it was dark. With an early appointment in the morning, doing my planned long run and coming off the road after 10pm didn't seem like the best idea. So...not the 12-16 my schedule had in mind for today but I got 10 in, at a relaxed clip just a hair under 8:00 pace.

I'll take it.

Quite warm out there, probably 75 degrees even at 8pm. A breeze cooled things down a bit, though.
