Rise and shine

Not sure about a run today... i'm about to head to the Dr. to get this throat thing checked out. Got alot worse by the time I woke up last night. It was about this time last year that I ended up in the hospital over a sore throat.... really don't want to do that again. But I also do not want to deal with antibiotics making me feel all funky either. If I get out early enough I may kick around for 5 miles.

BBS - Hope you get well quick.

I ran an abbreviated 4 and change, turning back early on the almost 7 mile Wed morning trail route I've been doing the last few weeks because I'm planning on track workout tonight with son1.

Fishbowl for me this morning. 2000m of drills. Meh... Just hoping I can get something going with swimming this season.

Either rest or an easy 5 on the TM today. Not going to track tonight. Just feeling like crap and all beat up. The hot conditions on Sunday really did a number on me. Hey, only a 10 mile race on Saturday. Looks like 40s and rain.

kfuller - enjoy the rest day

4boysmom - nice job in the pool. You're still light years better than me.

zrun - have fun on the track

BBS - yikes! Get that throat sorted before it sorts you!

Morning all,

It's kind of gloomy and drizzly/rainy around here today. I've got gear for either outside or inside, but will probably go inside to the TM since speedwork is on tap. Nothing special, just mile repeats.

BBS - if you've got a cold, antibiotics won't do a thing to help. Hopefully you can ride it out quickly, not much else you can do.

zrun - have fun with the track workout tonight. Sounds like your son's getting the running bug.

He's 11. Workout is probably going to be 3 x 1 mile and I'll aim for 7:30-8:00 miles. I hope he does does kick my butt, we'll see :)

Nice runs out there and BBS, hope it's nothing.

Did a smooth 5 today after mowing the lawn for the first time of the year. Legs really wanted to go more, but I have some reading to do before class tonight, and my stomach was cramping up for no apparent reason. Maybe I'll do a real run Thurday.

BBS, I hope your throat gets better soon.

zrun, have fun at the track with your son.

MBH, I can't wait to catch a whiff of freshly mowed grass!

Hawk, same weather here today. Good luck with your repeats.

RA, the heat we had here on Monday was tough to run through as well. Those first few warm days in spring are always an adjustment.

4bm, great job on the swim this morning.

Rest well Kevin.

I took a rest day today, too. DH and DD2 have been sick and I have been avoiding them like the plague all week. Last night I felt like my throat was starting to get sore so I took a bunch of echinecea (okay, only 2) and decided to skip my run today, just to be on the safe side. I'm feeling great today and plan on a couple more short, easy runs before heading to Boston. Talked to loopy earlier today, he's ready to race and said he's a bundle of nervous excitement.

<poof>

That's the sound of my workout vanishing. I love running midday during the week, but sometimes the window get it in during the workday is really tight, and all it takes is for 1-2 other things in the rest of the day's schedule to go awry and then you guessed it -- <poof>.

Phillies tickets for tonight's game at Nationals Park...so, USRD for me today.

Hi everyone!

BBS- if it is a cold, new studies shoes taking zinc actually helps. I hope for your sake and your loved ones that it's not strep.

zrun- I love running with my DD, but she's to little to handle anything structured. Have fun!

MBH- hope the tummy thing was just a fluke. Nice 5.

hawk- enjoy the repetetive dreadmilling

RA- yuck to the heat. I struggle with it every year.

4bm - Nice swim. Your g'ma sounds awesome!

Enjoy your rest, Kevin and Jill.

Me-forgot my garmin, so I counted my laps around the pedestrian mall near my office. I either miscounted, or I ran significantly slower than I thought I was running. Oh well. By my count, it was 6.4 miles.

Hawk - USRD's? Enjoy the game and hopefully you will be wearing phillies gear.

My workout is also on the "poof" list! Working late and can't get anything in, so it will be a wednsday workout during Thursday am.

Got out for 6 miles after work as I won't have time tomorrow. Great weather. Came home to find that DD had pooped on the floor. Earlier she'd pee'd on the floor. Oh the joys of potty training.

Hawk- I am just sitting here listening to RSL on the computer. The channel that they were showing on television is out with technical difficulties. It is in stoppage time and with a 0-0 score..
